- So that's the story. Interesting. We're here.- Said Vlad as the truck passed a metal gate with an emblem depicting a ferocious bear made out of iron. The compound of the Iron Bears was in the docks, near the naval bases. It had several piers, a landing pad with a dropship on it, the main building and two hangars. There were several ground vehicles and an armored boat.
Vlad and Inferno entered the main building and went to the office where Seth was still rewieving contracts. Some pictures hanged on the walls, but most decorations were old weapons.
- Seth, this is Inferno. He has a deal for us. Remember I told you about the Supervillain war. Seems that one of the participants is posing a greater threat than Zero ever was.
- So, we must stop him? But what odds we have against him?- Seth's voice was completely devoid of emotion.

Melony lay back on the couch, blood loss nearly causing her to lose consciousness. Now now, my dear, Miasma scolded her, can't have you passing out here now, can we? No, stay strong for just a while longer... and I'll see how much stronger I've become. She felt something squirm inside of the wound in her shoulder, feeling something like suction as the bullet whizzed out, thrown by a small shadow across the room.
Melony could feel Miasma's exhaustion from doing this. Stronger... then... before. But not... enough yet. Blasts.
Melony felt exhaustion herself, and was asleep almost before Miasma stopped speaking.

"Just us three? None." replied Inferno. "He can stop time. You've seen his power firsthand, Vlad. There's no stopping him through normal means. We need something or someone that can weaken him enough so that he cannot stop time. Either that or we find the catalyst ourselves and use it against him. But I do not think that exactly would be a good idea, as the affect it would have on us would be completely unpredictable. No, we need to round up what's left of the old gang and possibly more."
Lisa had finished up eating breakfast and was laying in her bed with Tiberius, wondering what will happen to her. She found that Siegfried wasn't exactly good company so she left him alone reading some thick book. She decided that she wanted to do something to keep herself occupied so she went back to the dining room to find the dirty plates hovering through the air into the kitchen. In the middle of the air sat Ouroboros as if he was sitting on a cushion. It looked as if he was meditating.
"Um...hello?" said Lisa very fearfully.
No answer.
"Excuse me? But why have you taken me here?"
Still no response.
"AREN'T YOU GOING TO TALK TO ME?!"
Ouroboros stood up in the air and slowly floated down as the last dishes were flown into the kitchen. He landed on the floor and walked towards Lisa. Lisa wanted to run and hide, but she couldn't. The invisible force prevented her from turning back. Ouroboros stood right in front of Lisa and put his hand on her shoulder and said to her politely, "Please do not yell at me while I am trying to wash the dishes. I may have chipped one of them with a fork, and those dishes are not cheap. Now, repeat your question."
"Why have you killed my dad and brought me here?" Lisa said. She felt sick as she said those words, but stood resilient to her emotions.
"I killed him because he attacked me and stood in my way. I brought you here because I need you." he replied nonchalantly.
"Why? What could you possibly need me for!? You have all of this power and money...and I'm just a simple teenage girl! You have no need for me!"
"Yes I do. You have locked memories and probably a locked power. Your father really wasn't your father you know."
"Of course I know that! He was my foster father, but still my father!"
"Then you shouldn't have much trouble getting over his death. As for you and the secrets you keep, I need Siegfried to dig it out and hand it to me. He's the key and you're the lock."
"That can also be referred to as sexual innuendo. I hope you don't mean it in that way."
"I don't. He would be unlocking the lock to your mind and whatever is in it. However, that takes time. So I have to keep you in here and let you live until then. After that...I'll figure something out. Now, are we done?"
Lisa felt the force push her away and shut her mouth.
"I didn't think so." said Ouroboros. He then whistled and said, "Tiberius! Come!"
The dog ran over to his side to snap at a dog treat floating in the air.

Kane watched the bullet leave the wound by itself and raised an eyebrow. Impressive. he thought, and started looking around in the apartment. In the cabinet under the sink he found a first aid kit, and smiled slightly as he opened it. Everything he needed to disinfect the wound and stop the bleeding.
It didn't take him long to disinfect and put pressure on the wound, then putting some bandage on it. After finishing with the girl he found a blanket which he covered her in, and started looking through the apartment once more. He found a briefcase filled with cash, a nice set of knives and a couple of newspapers. Kane picked out a few clothes from the wardrobe, then went out to buy some food. He came back twenty minutes later with heaps of food, as he didn't know what the girl ate. And he was starving himself, having not gotten to finish his meal earlier on. He ate a beef alongside with rice and vegetables, watching the girl sleep.

Edmund has lost it. He did not hear anything but the singing in his ears. He did not see much beyond the haze that filled his eyes, just the beastman. The second man that joined the fight Edmund had only registered before he went berserk. The rage was directed at the beastman, not the other one.
And rage was the only thing that was in his mind. Rage, the instinct to know where to dig in his claws next. The carnal need to hurt this man as much as possible, regardless how it might hurt Edmund in the process. And as usual the rage usurped the majority of his brain. Edmund would not remember much of this encounter.
Edmund pounced at the beastman, who caught him deftly and threw him back. Exactly what Edmund had hoped for, as the momentum of the throw was enough for him to get airborne.
In the air he wheeled and he dove at the thing. Gliding fast over it's head. In the meanwhile the other man fired his gun several times and one of the bullets lodged itself in Edmund's stone skin. Edmund did not register it and it could be easily picked out once he came to his senses.
Diving over the head of the thing. Edmund again raked his claws across it's back. Edmund hit the ground rolling himself into somewhat of a ball, turned over his head and got back onto his feet.
He again leapt at the thing, who had turned to face him. Evidently seeing in him the greater threat. Once more he caught Edmund with ease, grabbing his arms and wings in the process. Learning from the last time, the beastman did not throw Edmund away.
Edmund hardly cared in his berserk state. He raised his feet and raked the talons of it down the beastman's face. It yelped and released Edmund as his hands went to his face.

- The old 'gang' is either scattered or dead. I don't trust Xion, and would slaughter him if I had a chance. Sidewinder and Special are dead. Kane is gone and I believe that he also died. And we're not just three. We here are running a PMC. There's a sealed facility near Baikal. That's in Russia Franklin. In there is a laboratory for experimental weapons and equipment. I want to clear it out before taking on Oroboros.- Said Vlad.
- What good is that stoneage junk to us?- Asked Inferno.
- because that 'stoneage junk' as you put it is based of an alien civilization which starship crashed in the Tunguska district almost a century ago. The 'Mammoth' and 'Fiend' armor are just examples of the technology locked away in there.

Slowly, Melony started to wake up. She noticed the huge pile of food on the table first. She felt disoriented, sore and exhausted, as if she should sleep for a few more days. In fact, maybe-
No girl. You need to wake up now. Miasma whispered.
Then she noticed that she wasn't in her apartment. Curling up into a small, protective ball, Melony slowly began to recall everything that had happened to bring her here.
"Kane?" She called out, "Kane, where are you?"

Kane got out of a cabinet by the wall. "Hi there." he said, he was dressed up as if he were ready for war. Two long blades by his thighs, a shotgun strapped across his back and two guns in holsters by his lower back. Another two blades were hidden by his wrists, and two long needles were fastened in his belt. "I guess this must be my place, it's filled with all kinds of useful stuff!"
He looked really excited, a huge grin from ear to ear and his face flushed. "Oh, and I found these." he said, holding forth three pills. "One is adrenaline, should help on the weariness. The second is protein, which should help your wound heal, and the third is pain killers. I guess I don't have to say why you should take those."
He gave her a thin smile as he recognized just how much food was on the table. "I didn't really know what food you preferred, so I just bought everything."

Kane frowned. "There's candy in there?" he asked, walking over to have a closer look. "Well what do you know!" he exclaimed. "I told you I bought everything."
He sat down in a chair at her opposite side of the table. "You don't have to be nervous, you know. I won't hurt you or anything. I am just kinda new to all this, which is strange seeing as I am probably older than you. I feel old at least. Do I look old?"

Econ watched with a mixture of shock and awe as the beast attacked the man. He shot some more, but stopped when he hit the creature. He looked around for something close quarter. He saw a knife with a six inch blade lying nearby. He picked it up and slowly and warily approached the battle.

"No Kane," Melony said as she walked over to the table, "you look rather young, actually. Maybe one or two years older than me... I'm only twenty-seven, if I remember right that makes you twenty-eight or twenty-nine." She looked at the pills in Kane's hand. She held out her own, "Could I have those, please? And maybe some water?"

Kane handed over the pills. "Of course, just a minute."
He started opening cabinets, searching for glasses or cups. "Damn, only weapons and stuff like that..." he muttered. "Here!" He held up a dirty
glass. "I should probably clean it, just another minute."
A good deal of scrubbing later he handed Melony a glass of water.

Melony shrinked a little from Kane's smile, "Well, I... How did you know about...? Wait a minute, Miasma talked to someone?!" Melony's face brightened up a little bit and she stood straight up. "It has never done that before!" Without thinking about it, Melony gave Kane a quick hug, "Thank you, thank you, thank you! This means that I'm not crazy!" She realized what she was doing and quickly let go of Kane and took a step away from him.
"Sorry, I just was a little excited I guess..."

Kane gave her a look and a quick grin. "I don't really mind." he said.
"And yeah she talked, not only did she talk. She told me a bunch of stuff, and seem to pretend she's some kind of mind-messer. She tried to make me figure out myself if I'm a hero or a villain. As if I care."
Kane sat down in the couch. "How you got ... Miasma you called her? Well, how you got her into you doesn't really matter to me. You have her in you and you can live with it, so that's just fine. What I wanna know is who shot you there." Kane pointed at her shoulder.

Kane looked at her, his brows lower than ever and his eyes sharp. "You can take powers?" he said, his voice low. "You must be great at fighting villains then. As for Ouroboros, I know the name but nothing of importance. We would have to round up the old gang, though the only gang I really remember is Vlad something. Big russian bearded guy, he appeared in a few flashes. You haven't heard of him on the news, or what?"
