Yes. Yes you are. My reasons for this statement have already been stated by other members in earlier pages in this thread.

CEO budgets count in the employee costs. Just sayn'...

And depending on what is being created, most businesses have either materials or employee budget as their main expenditures (unless they deported all of their jobs to China. Then it's shipping...) Corporation taxes are all but non-existent, and besides transportation there really aren't that many other major costs for running a business. And I think it's pretty much undeniable that the first thing a corporation that's trying to cut costs will do is fire employees (Unless it's Valve, of course). Why would you try to cut something unless it was part of your highest losses/ expenditures category?

That's surprisingly accurate, actually. The elephant is relatively new, and I don't remember the reason why it was chosen... but the Donkey has been around to show "That this party will not budge on its stances, and it will stubbornly oppose the other morons."

Or something like that.

The donkey fits the republican party MUCH better. The democrats should have something weak and harmless like a bunny.

During the middle ages, in western countries the midddle and lower classes were ruled over by the king, nobility and the church. I find it ironic how the american colonists rebelled against their overlords only to find themselves ruled over by a new form of king(president), nobility(insanely rich and politicians) and church(fanatic religious leaders).

The only thing Obumster has earned is a good swift kick in the ***. Metaphorically speaking, of course. One strong enough to kick him out of office, and come November the American people are going to do just that. The leftists can kiss their dreams of a Marxist America bye-bye.

Obama will go down in history as a president even worse than Jimmy Carter, and that is saying something there.

Both of them were popularized at around the same time (late 1800s), actually, as a result of political cartoons, although the Donkey's use was more deliberate and stretches back to President Jackson if I recall.

Well, your sentence was so wrong, it was not even worth a reply.
It would be a waste of time to talk about that here and a waste of time to enlighten you on this subject when you made an utterly ignorant statement.Of course, no offense intended.

A hint:
Companies lay off employees not because they are the most costly part of the company, but the most expendable.

I have seen companies layoff employees because the manager screwed up or whatever else. Employees are very easily replaced, filled and or outsourced.

The point is, employees are not the part that sucks the most money from a company. This nullifies your analogy with Rommney.

I have been thinking that maybe it is for the best if Romney wins which seems pretty likely right now. Last election the americans got their first non-white president so maybe this time it is time for their first(correct me if I am wrong) non-christian president. Maybe in 4 or 8 years it is time for a female or atheist president.

Considering that "...Americans rate atheists below Muslims, recent immigrants, gays and lesbians and other minority groups in 'sharing their vision of American society.'", it seems unlikely an atheist will be elected president anytime soon.

Quick thoughts on the final debate:

For the first hour, I thought both candidates conducted themselves fairly well.  I was a little surprised by Romney's peacenik strategy, and especially that he didn't go after Obama for the Libya debacle.  In retrospect, given how hard he stepped in it in debate #2, that was probably the safer choice.  I was looking forward to seeing how Romney handled the foreign policy questions because I frankly didn't know if his lack of experience would show through; I was pleasantly surprised that he came off sounding knowledgable.  We can only wait and see if his strategy to pretty much agree with Obama on almost every point of foreign policy was well-advised - on the one part it made him look very dipolomatic and gracious; on the other hand I think he did miss a few opportunities.  I do think Romney had a very nice ringing vision in response to the question about America's role in the world, a "vision question" Obama failed to answer.

In the first hour Obama did a pretty good job, too.  He handed a lot of the foreign policy related criticisms of his administration with aplomb and (in part because Romney chose to be stoic) came through what could have been a sticky area looking very presidential and strong in the foreign leadership arena.  Maybe it's because of Romney's strategy, but I did think a lot of Obama's barbs came off feeling flat and unnecessary.  Although Obama did have the best zinger of the night.

The last half hour was a different story.  Starting with the discussion of China it became clear that Romney's goal was to bring everything back to the economy.  Obama seemed a little taken off guard and he stumbled around a lot for the last thirty minutes.  Whereas Romney had a very powerful response to the question of China in my opinion, Obama's choice to criticize Romney for investing in Chinese companies came off sounding defensive and childish to me.  Whatever the facts may be, Romney also cleary won, in my opinion, the little tiff about the US auto industry.  Romney just went on and on with Obama just sitting there with his mouth open and a dumb expression on his face.  In fact I felt the last thirty minutes were very reminiscent of the first debate.

The closing statements were a bit of a wash.

Over all it was a kind of strange debate and it took some musing about it before I figured out who I thought won it in the end.  On the foreign policy issues I felt Obama was probably the winner - he sounded like the man in charge, and I think Romney just kind of played it safe.  His intentions were just not to say anything stupid so that his forward momentum carries him through to a victory.  It's possible that could backfire but he did convince me, at least, that he's not a total dunce on foreign affairs. But still Obama did win the debate on foreign policy.

That said, as the debate evolved it was clear that this wasn't really a foreign policy debate.  While Romney's conciliatory approach may have been a missed opportunity in some respects, it also completely defanged any arguments Obama might have had and also let Romney deftly change the topic of the debate to the economy while Obama talked about how great he is at ending wars and hunting down bad guys. Romney's true agenda became clear in the discussion over China, which was really a discussion about the economy.  Obama couldn't really talk about troops, military strategy and killing Osama in any discussion about China, and that's why it's the part of the debate that Romney won hands down.  China was the landmine Romney was waiting for, and if you watch the debate closely, you'll see that Romney pounced on the opportunity like a lion waiting for a gazelle to stop at the watering hole.

If this election is truly about the economy, as I believe it is, then Romney won this debate, at least from my vantage, because, as usual, Obama just seemed clueless when it came to any discussion about where we are now and where we're going.

Carlin is awesome as usual but the guy after the Carlin clip was extremely boring. He was also a damn marxist for wanting products to last longer. Does he not realise that imperfection creates jobs?

Also, mormons should be the most patriotic people of America. They believe Jesus was an american after all. How can christians, jews or atheists top that?

Obama was stronger in this debate. It was expected though, as it was about foreign policy.

Edit: But Romney might gain more from debates nevertheless. I thought he was a douche before, now he seems ok. As a person. I would want him to emphasize that his positions have changed, because he believes State politics is so different from Federal politics. That would be the only reasonable explanation for his flip-flopping.
