Using this simplistic logic, one may say voting for Romney means you're with the "I want more tanks and F22s so I can start more useless wars but I have absolutely no other way than to reach to your pocket and steal your money so I can get them" people

But of course, this is much more complicated than that kind of thinking permits.

I am not really sure of it, but Romney seems much more war-like. As non-American, I'd vote for Obama, because he's more stable and safe. The last thing we need is US army trying to de-stabilize the already unfriendly situation with aggression on Iran against the will of UN.

I think it was for the best that Obama won. He is the least evil of the two, and hopefully now there won't be any big wars that would devastate the world even more.
Also, now minorities across the states can rejoice! ^o^

Wow, out of the 9 Republicans that publicly declared that they wanted women to carry rape babies to term only Paul Ryan was elected/re-elected to anything. But largely because of his boost for being a vice presidential candidate and his district is allergic to democrats (the second thing did not save most of the others even when applicable).

Crazy. You don't bank on a President's unpopularity by trying to undermine him in unfavorable positions.

I think the US is at risk of becoming (in practice) a one-party system by the next decade. With demographics mounting the way that they are, I'm not entirely sure how the GOP will be able to outperform the swelling numbers. Hispanics aren't nearly as hopelessly/hilariously one-sided as blacks, but a 2/3rds majority towards Democrats is still a heavy majority to cope with. This isn't necessarily quite as bad news in the long term (another 20 years or so) since right now, many of the other 1/3rd of Hispanics that vote Republicans are 2nd generation Hispanics that are established in the country. That means there is some possibility that Hispanic kids growing up may balance out a little more for the GOP, but even if the next 4-years sux, I still don't think the 2016 election will be very promising. I think it's optimistic to assume that bad performance will equate to a significant enough shift.

Republicans need to understand that a lot of people are single-issue voters. If you tell a Hispanic that you don't support the DREAM act, the left side of her brain powers down and she'll vote Democrat in the next election: no ifs, ands, or buts. It's an issue that she is simply too deeply invested in for you to be able to penetrate past it. I honestly believe that a shift in policy towards immigration could split the Hispanic voting margin to 50/50 or even better in one fell swoop. The problem is when you do that, you risk even ****tier voter turnout from other groups within the GOP. The 65-year-old embittered Vietnam vet stays home on election and fantasizes about bright red jeeps to distract him from other, less pleasant thoughts.

I won't resort to another tirade about how US democracy is civic sewage, but with 2 parties you're one step away from a non-official one-party system.

Yep, the democrat party is the party of racism, sexism, class warfare,  and hatred of the military.  The democrats think race and gender should be the primary considerations in hiring and promotion. They reject the message of Republican Martin Luther King that a man should be judged based on his character rather than his skin color. The democrat party fought for slavery and fought against the Civil Rights Act.  The KKK was founded as the terrorist wing of the dem party.

They also love dead babies. Don't misunderstand me, they don't have care or concern for dead babies, they love to have more dead babies. To that end the democrat party says a woman has a right to an abortion at the taxpayer's expense if she can't pay to have the baby murdered herself.

The democrat party loves taxing in order to steal money from the makers (productive members of society) and redistribute the money to the takers.

And finally, they hate the military. They call soldiers rapists and murderers.

The reelection of the Marxist Obama means loss of more freedoms, greater theft of monies from the makers, more government control of the lives of the citizens, and an inevitable march towards dictatorship.

“When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.”-- Benjamin Franklin.  The Great Experiment is just about over. Human nature and the greed of the takers was its downfall. There is of course still a slight hope of the survival of democracy. The Republicans will have to be the party of "NO" and be willing to at no time recess Congress for the next 4 years (or the Bummaker will do the recess-apointment of more Marxists into power.)

Quote:

About the time our original 13 states adopted their new constitution, in
1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of
Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some
2000 years prior:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a
permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."
"The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage "

Bumeister, Bumaker, Bumaster Obama. He is on the verge of fulfilling Khrushchev's prophecy that communism would take America without a shot being fired. Sad indeed.

If Obama and the democrats were even half marxist then northern europe would be SUPER MARXIST, SATANIC, HELL ON EARTH. But we all know that northern europe have more freedom and safety than USA.

Seems to me that the republicans hate freedom and america and I have heared that Obama, just like the republicans, love rich people and think corporations are people.

Kind of interesting how crazy the republicans have gotten. They freed the slaves and fought against the confederacy but now their most important voters are racists from confederacy states. Their feelings for any non-whites, non-christians and females range from mistrust to absolute racial disgust. White, christian females are ok though as long as they do what they are told.

And I would definitly bet my money on that the republicans get at least 90% of the KKK votes.

@ Elodin:  Ayn Rand much?  Makers vs. Takers?  Really?  I would've maybe taken her more seriously if she never cashed her social security checks.

Baby murderers because we support a woman's right to choose what happens to her own body?

Funny how you scream and wail and moan about the evils of big government but the moment you guys got a chance, you voted to shove large transvaginal probes up into women just because they wanted to exercise what was decided to be a constitutional right a generation ago.

Oh, and for all the crying about how democrats hate babies because of their support for a woman's right to choose whether to carry a pregnancy to term or not, the far right is the first to cut welfare for mothers because, aside from being completely stupid, your side wants to collectively shame women who have babies out of wedlock.  Brilliant.  You claim to be pro-baby but the moment that baby comes into the world, your side wants to wisk any governemtntal social support out from under their feet.  Once again, thank you for giving the dems a reliable block of voters.

Taxes.  Yes.  Let's talk taxes.  Taxes are, "The price of civilization."  With the current tax code so obviously skewed in favor of the wealthy e.g. Warren Buffet paying a lower tax rate than his maid, your side can claim no foul for how the wealthy have benefited the last generation.  Yes, it's called taxes because we the people have bills to pay.  Since no republican president over the last thirty five years has seen deficit reduction, your spurious claim about the republicans being 'fiscally responsible' is not supported by any metric whatsoever.  I laugh at your sides' use of 'tax and spend' while trying to sell to us on the bullsnow that 'borrow and spend' (thank you bort) is somehow more responsible.

Let's talk military.  The republicans, if you actually pay attention to history, are very good about rattling sabres and sending us to war.  All those chicken snow mother snowers like Cheney, Rumsfeld et al., none of whom served, had their children serve, nor would allow their children to serve.  Mighty easy of them to send another american's son or daughter to die.  I admit, they are very good at marketing war.  They prattle, and preach, and claim anyone who isn't in lockstep with them is unpatriotic, unamerican, and traitors to the cause.  Oh, they love to talk war, but take a look at what they did most recently to block $1 billion to help find veterans jobs after they've returned home.  How patriotic is that?  We already spent $1 trillion on two stupid wars--started by republicans mind you, and we don't have enough in the coffers to support the returning troops?

And if you want to talk nuts and bolts, I daresay that a democrat by the name of Franklin D. Roosevelt made a mighty fine commander in chief who did NOT hate the military.  And this generation's republicans are as far away from Lincoln and Eisenhower as I've ever seen.

The far right is a bunch of wealthy snake oil salesmen--and you're their e-Billie Mays.

And finally, I remember your claim that you're a veteran of a foreign war and that you killed a man.  I don't believe you.  I call you a liar and an integrity violator.  I believe you're a troll earning $10/hr. peddling Fox News across the internet.

Now, go lick your wounds loser, and pine about the grostesqueries of your beloved Texas becoming a blue state within ten years.  You have only yourself and your way of thinking to thank for clustersnowing away the entire latino vote for a generation.

@ Corribus.  Here's a link from a demographic I once thought you were a part of.

Letter to the Republican party from a smart white person.
