Quote:
I want you to name a totally self sufficient business.
A business and self sufficiency is an oxymoron.
Even if you had every possible thing, you would need a customer and if you dont need a customer, you need something to have produced first in order to patent it.
If exploting patent and IP rights was a business, it would have fitted onto a self sufficient business model but even that would require you first to make an investment, an invention or something.
Quote:
Anyhow, it is pretty straightforward. No business exists in a bubble.
I dont get what you mean here with the word bubble.
I dont want to pull a fallacy here so here is what I get:
If by bubble you mean over inflated monetary value, ads and needs than,
our whole economy and most business models are a bubble. In the case of econ, that bubble explodes every 20 or 30 years until planetary resources get exhausted.
Quote:
Other businesses, other people, even that ebil government..have to exist for the business to exist.
In every business there is a gain, for a gain to exist something or someone must lose. It sounds so awfully poetic.

Quote: Lets forget just for a moment that Obama never said "You didn't build your business" but said that you didn't build the roads and infrastructure that helps people and products get to your business. Despite what Fox may have told you, lets forget the facts here for just one moment.
So..the customers had nothing to do with it? I mean not only did you build your business, but you bought your own products? Any workers you have working for you, they had nothing to do with it? Without others to buy whatever you were selling, you wouldn't make any money. So yes, you did build your company..but there are other factors at play here. *shrugs*
Upon careful reading of my post, you will find I said, "And to all Obamaites, yes, ****I**** (and my wife) built my business. Big government had nothing to do with it."
Big Government is a hindrance to business and encroaches on the liberties of individuals. If the goods and services of a business are crap it will have no repeat business and of course word will get around and there will be fewer new customers. The customer does not build the business. The customer consumes what the business offers.
A business is built by hard work, quality, and customer service. Big government is not wanted or needed by a business despite what MSNBC may have told you.
Roads and bridges are among the few legitimate things that the Constitution allows the federal government to be involved in. Unfortunately the federal government has reached far, far, over the bounds set for it by the Constitution. Yes, roads and bridges help both the makers and the takers. Such things are paid for by people who pay the taxes, by the way. The government has no money of its own and the takers are only contributing money the government took from the makers to give to the takers. With quite a bit lost to bureaucracy. Money is best utilized by the private sector.
Wealth production is entirely done by the private sector. Government is a drain on wealth, not a builder of wealth.

And you are responding to a strawman with a strawman. I'll be far more willing to read your understanding of how the things should work than Elodin's though so it'll be good to give some details.

You can substitute bubble for vacuum. Ie no business exists as the only thing in existence. No other business, no clients, etc.
As for prostitution, hmm maybe. Though..even they need customers. Since we are not worried about that though..technically .. yes

If there is one thing the dem leaders love more than dead babies it is taxes. You can expect lots of taxes on businesses and individuals, with lots of job loss as a result. But the dems don't care. It is "economic justice" when everyone stands in soup kitchen lines and lives in cardboard shacks.

Quote:
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) released the following statement today regarding a new study by independent accounting firm Ernst & Young that shows President Obama’s small business tax hike will destroy more than 700,000 American jobs:
“This Ernst & Young study shows the president’s small business tax hike threatens more than 700,000 jobs, and will lead to even less economic growth, less investment, and lower wages for American workers. Our economy is still struggling under President Obama’s policies, and his massive tax hike will only make things tougher. It’s one of the worst possible ideas at one of the worst possible times for families and small businesses.
“That’s why the House will vote this month to stop all of the tax hikes, and to lay the groundwork for a fairer, simpler tax code that closes loopholes, lowers rates for everyone, and helps bring home some of the jobs that have gone overseas. Most Americans understand that if we raise taxes on job creators, we’re going to have fewer jobs. If Democrats want to keep threatening to raise taxes and risk tanking our already-weak economy, the American people will hold them accountable.”
NOTE: The Ernst & Young study found unemployment would increase by .5 percent – or roughly 710,000 jobs – if the president’s small business tax hike is imposed.

Elodin, abortion really is not that bad. Dead baby sandwich taste awesome and you might change your mind about abortion if you try a sandwich. I think we should ban condoms and sex education so that we can have more dead babies. Me and my comrades sure do love dead babies. Better than bacon... Almost...
