At least that's one less socially conservative nutjob to worry about.

But is it me, or is the republican well really running dry?  Nobody here I can really be enthusiastic about.  Romney is the front runner and I don't think he has a prayer.

The liberal nutjob Gingrich is wasting his money running. He is for requiring everyone to buy health insurance so he has not a prayer of getting the Republican nomination.

If Palin runs she will win. If she does not run the winner will be another person that has the Tea Party's blessing. Republicrats need not apply.

Romney and Palin lead in the GOP presidential candidate polls though Palin has not declared she is going to run yet. I predict she will run and America will have its first female president.

Clicky

Quote:

Mitt Romney (17%) and Sarah Palin (15%) now lead a smaller field of potential Republican presidential candidates in rank-and-file Republicans' preferences for the party's 2012 nominee. Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich, and Herman Cain essentially tie for third, with Cain registering 8% support in his initial inclusion in Gallup "trial heat" polling. Notably, 22% of Republicans do not have a preference at this point.

Now for the rebuke...

1) Then how come Obama won in the first place?
2) K', so the Tea Party is very supported? Seriously, I don't know about sub-divisions in the main stream parties...
3) She was born semi-elitist. She would never have gained the funding to become mayor of a city (let alone a state) without that kind of money.
4) Can't argue with that.
5) ... *Laughs for three minutes* *Makes himself some popcorn* *Comes back and laughs again* *Sees the look on Elodin's face* Wait, you're actually serious? I know the vast majority of people in America are sex crazed idiots, but I hope that they have the common sense to elect based on political skill rather than facial structure. Also, might be my personal preferences (Non-politician that threatened to seceded), but her face just... annoys me.
6) Just as many people do as a few years ago. Calling it "Lamestream" and basing the beliefs of all of America on the South West doesn't change this fact...
7) Obama is basically... Moderate. Honestly. His cabinet is very socialist though. (Don't know why this is a pox, but whatever floats your boat *shrugs*.)
8) See the article: "Congress is stupid" (Doesn't actually exist (I hope)).
9) Mandatory health insurance = better economy as people don't fear not being able to provide for their family due to removal of limbs. On the performance, see the articles: "The Senate makes treaties" and "Congress is full of hormonal, grumpy old men with nothing better to do than destroy hopes and dreams." (#1 exists, #2 doesn't)
10) Not very many, and they moved due to over-crowding. so how do you like your neighboring states becoming (on the whole) more liberal.
11) He writes down his speech and puts it on the prompter to not sound like an idiot. Common sense, anyone?
12) true enough, though he backed down and picked Israel (The violent Mid. Eastern bully w/ nukes) back up and offered a (Basically fair) deal between two warring countries. What's your problem with peace?

Please know that any perceived personal attacks were not intended in the slightest.

My turn:

2) She is a darling of the Tea Party instead of an establishment candidate or a Rhino.
3) Palin has grass roots support. She is a true candidate of the people.
4) Palin is the most well know conservative in the race.

9) Obama's lackluster performance and pushing of socialist policies like the mandatory health insurance.
10) Conservative states gained electoral votes due to the last census. People are fleeing the high tax liberal north for the more sensible lower tax rates and job creating policies of the South.
11) She is not the voice of a teleprompter. She speaks from her heart and speaks well. Obama can't speak without a teleprompter and reads the words of Soros when his teleprompter is not broken down.
12) Obama threw Israel under the bus. The majority of America supports Israel.

1) Define "mainstream American values" please.  Palin is not center anything.  She represents the far right.

2) Number two is a perfect example of why she will not win the election.  The Tea Party is the Republican base, they just call themselves the Tea Party now.  They are a small, but very loud, portion of the electorate.  Fox News personalities love them but they cater to the Tea Party types because that is where most of their audience is.
On a side note, it is interesting that most of the likely candidates for the GOP have worked for Fox News.

3) Grass roots support doesn't mean much for presidential politics, just ask Ron Paul.  Not to mention that someone with her visibility doesn't need grass roots support to be a candidate.

4) This just isn't a factual statement.  Newt Gingrich has been around for a long time.  He was Speaker of the House.  He also presided over the impeachment of Bill Clinton for infidelity ...while at the same time committing adultery himself.  Irony?

5) To only old white men is this a factor.

6) I like to deal in facts and nothing in number six is a fact, and I doubt you could come up with anything to support it.  The very notion that you used her coined expression "lamestream media" in, what I assume is, a serious sentence speaks volumes.  Her constant barrage of pre-teen slang and garbled attempts at communication on Twitter and Facebook make her possible candidacy a joke.
Your complaints about the "liberal" media constantly attacking her are unfounded.  Pointing out when someone who has aspirations at the highest office in the US government cannot name a single newspaper she reads, a supreme court case she disagrees with, a single founding father, a single influential journalist, etc. is not attacking as much as simply doing their jobs.  Something I've learned over the years: facts tend to have a liberal bias to them.  Must be why the GOP uses lies and misinformation all the time.

7) This is so ridiculous I don't even know what to say.  I know clowns like Limbaugh, Hannity and Beck like to say such things.  Obama is more of a centrist than you would give him credit for.

8) High gas prices are Obama's fault?  So when they were higher in 2005 or so I guess it was all Bush's fault.  The oil companies make an obscene amount of money.  Blaming the president for your pain at the pump is laughable while BP makes billions in profit after the largest oil spill in history.

9) Lackluster performance?  Subjective at best.  Funny you should call the individual mandate an example of Obama's socialism.  It is an idea originally put forward by the GOP in the 90's in response to then First Lady Hillary Clinton's rhetoric on healthcare reform.  This is a Republican idea and Obama included it in his plan despite some upset folks on the left.  Remember when I said he was more of a centrist?  The Republicans that supported this idea in the 90's voted against their own ideas and attacked them specifically.

10) Following the same trend as every census for the last century plus does not equate to a response to the first two years of the Obama administration.

11) This one made me laugh out loud.  Especially the "speaks well" part.  If she speaks so well why did Tina Fey read verbatim one of her speeches on SNL?  Why do conservative pundits attack Obama for using teleprompters when every president has used them since they have been invented?

12) I don't know that a majority of Americans support Israel.  I don't support the unconditional support that we seem to give them.  Obama didn't throw anyone under the bus anyway.  Pundits pounced on a report from Associated Press that claimed Obama wanted to go back to the 1967 boarders.  That isn't what he said at all and has been rescinded.  He said that it could be a starting point from which negotiations could be made or possibly swap land back and forth with the Palestinians in order to create a separate state or something like that.  The fact that he is even addressing the Israeli/Palestinian conflict this early in his presidency says a lot about him.  He is ballsy and doesn't fool around (i.e. Osama is dead).  This is usually a 7th year, deadlocked Congress, I have too much time on my hands and nothing to do issue.

I'm not saying she won't win, but some of your points need to be addressed here as they... really don't seem like points.

1) Palin is far right. Obama is actually Centre-Right. He's been only passing and renewing laws that Republicans have been drooling to implement and then lambasting as soon as it passes. What's more, there isn't even a real left or right. the parties are effectively one and the same with only a lot of hot air separating the both. Let's not forget that Left and Right are really over-simplifications invented to try to make political discussion more divided by placing every little action on one side or another like everything is in binary. Yes or no only. Black or White. Live or Let die. This doesn't mean that she can't win. It's just that Obama is close to Centre (still "Right" of it however).

Not a point for or against Palin.

2) The Tea Party started out (much like the Anti-War protests in 2003) as a Libertarian Venture protesting the improper use of Tax dollars by the government. However (much like in 2003) the party that benefited most from them hijacked the name of the Tea Party and filled it with their base. It's not a grassroots movement anymore.

Not a point for or against Palin.

3) Most candidates are. If we want by grassroots support only, Ron Paul would have won 2008's nomination by a landslide.

Not a point for or against Palin.

5) So you'd vote for her because She's Bayonetta?

She only gets the old pervert vote for that feature. So that may get her elected afterall if there are enough.

6) Fewer people trust Television media at all. In recent surveys Fox topped the others as most trusted, but far more people answered don't know and more people than that answered none.

Not a point for or against Palin.

7) It's not like he hugged a Liberal leader while also supporting Contras to overthrow said person's government.

Every world leader has Communist ties as soon as they become a world leader.

Of course you're probably talking about some college professors he knew... how is that any different than any other President that had an education? It's not like he spoke for the Alaskan Independance Party or anything. Besides. All these candidates have dirty backgrounds. It's all part of how they stay controlled by their parties.

What you call Socialism about Obama's policies is the same Corporatism that has been used by American governments for years.

Not a point for or against Palin.

8) I'm sorry, but Obama has been expanding Energy independance more than any previous president. Not my fault it's under reported.  Jon Stewart made a great point a year ago about all Presidents using Energy Independence as lip service though.

Not a point for or against Palin.

9) The Public Option and Mandatory insurance have been a republican platform for a long, long time. Wolfman mentioned the 90's but it goes back further than that. Nixon considered it and was very close to implementing it in the 70's. You also keep using the word Socialism like it's some boogeyman. It's just as sickening as Fundamentalism, Traditionalism or Nationalism being used a a boogeyman. They are all political outlooks that are not mutually exclusive, you can be a Nationalist Fundamentalist Christian Socialist Traditionalist Conservative. Heck, the most Pious Christians I know consider themselves Socialist. It's not like it's a communist mindset.

Not a point for or against Palin.

10) Or just more babies are born in those states. Higher income families also tend to have fewer children paradoxically enough. Also, said high tax Northern states also tend to recieve about half of what they pay back from the government while lower tax states tend to take in double from the Federal government than they pay.

Not a point for or against Palin.

11) Obama has worked without a teleprompter several times. Palin was caught with her speech written out on her hand.

They're politicians, they are people. They screw up, they forget lines. Sarah Palin is a fine person, but she's not any better on this part.

Not a point for or against Palin.

12) Actually:

Quote:
Israels daily Maariv published a poll showing about 57 percent of voters believe Netanyahu should have supported Obama's initiative, rather than opposing the president.

Source.

The under a bus thing is a well known, repeated talking point. Then again... so are most political "facts" so make of it what you will.

If you repeat a lie enough it becomes true, both parties practice that in spades.

Not a point for or against Palin.

Assessment:

Mostly neutral, plus old pervert vote.

OMG. Palin wins!

Seriously, Santorum got clobbered in his last senate election, in Pennsylvania.  How could he possibly imagine he could win a presidential Race?
