Quote: 1. There was a precedent for having only two terms. This was only broken by (as far as I can tell) two residents before the limit was imposed. This precedent was very, very strong and started with Washington. The law just made this "Formality" (it was basically a law already) an absolute rule. Most presidents have had to deal with the issue of being reelected and passed most of their policies in their 2nd or (for some of them) 3rd term. This is an undeniable trend.
Precedent of two terms was followed by the first few presidents (by choice, mind you - there was no law prohibiting them from re-running). However a number of presidents ran for 3rd terms - at least five by my count. Only FDR actually actually served more than two. Even so, it's all beside the point - fact is that no president prior to 1951 was prohibited from running for a third term. Therefore if all these presidents cared for was political capital, then nobody would have done anything. My point stands.
Quote: In this election, Romney has shown no clear goals for anything except his position on gay rights and (maybe) the military,
I disagree. He's shown far more vision than Obama, IMO. (Subjective assessment.)
Quote: has contradicted himself repeatedly (sometimes on a week-to-week basis)
Subjective assessment.
Quote: and his personality is both condescending and rather submissive
Subjective assessment.
Quote: In other words, he has **** for potential.
Subjective assessment.
Quote: Obama is only slightly better because he has a slightly more clear policy standpoint
I disagree. All I know about Obama's "policy standpoint" is that he's not Romney and he thinks everyone should pay their fair share. Whatever that means.
Quote: and he has the artificial boost of not needing to run for reelection.
You haven't shown that this is real. I like your choice of the word "artificial", though. It's fitting.
So in conclusion - what you have is, like everyone else, a subjective assessment of a polician's strengths and weaknesses and a contention that we should vote for Obama because of an unfounded belief that second term presidents are more productive (whatever that means) than first term presidents. Never mind that productivity only matters if you believe in what is being produced.
Sorry, but I hope you'll understand if I don't follow your voting advice.

Fine, fine. I'm not going to be influenced by your subjective reasoning either.
Now I know this is just sort of random, but one of my friends sent me a link with some of Romney's storm advice... (Yes this is a joke)
1. If your home is in the path of a hurricane, evacuate to your second or third home immediately.
2. If your home sustained damage from Sandy, ask your parents for money to fix it.
3. 20,000 people find shelter by standing behind Chris Christie. There is still room for 20,000 more.
4. Airlines can resume their flights. Just tell passengers to keep their windows rolled up.
5. Make sure you've moved your cars to the top floor of your garage.
6. Sandy is so violent because she was raised by a single mother.
7. Don't worry about evacuating. If it's a legitimate storm, your house has a way of shutting itself down to protect itself from damage.
8. My prayers and thoughts go out to 53% of you;
9. 53% of you will be fine. The other 47% I couldn't care less about.
10. If you survive, I'll take credit for it.
11. If you must drive in the storm, use extra-strength rope to secure your dog to the roof of the car.
12. Everyone chill out... Sandy will end earlier than expected. She has dinner to get on the table.
13. Romney actually has a bunch of storm tips but isn't going to tell you any them until after the election..
14. Everyone in the path of the storm: don't be a victim and stop looking for handouts!
15. Ensure that your staff secures your yacht with strong rope.

I´m kinda hoping for Romney because I want to see if his visions, which I ideologically support more than Obama´s, will really work in practice. Can´t see how it would improve your economy by INCREASING your already HUGE military spending AND lowering taxes at the same time though. Of course I also want Gary or Jill to get 5% of the popular vote. x)
I went to store and bought lots of american import snacks for tonight. Mountain Dew + popcorn with CARAMEL and peanuts + popcorn with TACO CHEDDAR spice (was SUPER expensive, like 7 dollars for some spice, wtf?). On my school, Obama won with 68 votes against 12 (but half the school voted for the communist party last election, I´ve made sure that won´t happen again...)

Last exit polling showed Romney with leads in NC and FL, Obama with leads in MN, IA. Too close to call in VA, OH. Many eastern state polls close in about 15 minutes. Reliable numbers should start coming in after that. If Romney takes FL, NC, VA, he'll be in a strong position. If Romney loses FL and VA, it'll be much harder for him. If they split FL and VA, things get real interesting.
@xerox
Gary might get 5% of the vote. Jill will be lucky to get 1%.

If Florida doesn't go red it's basically over for Romney. He would need to win every other swing state + Wisconsin. 29 electoral votes is just too big.

Florida is extremely close. If Omaba can take Florida that is probably the decisive victory.

how so?
If it wasnt for it, Romney wouldnt have to win like every single battleground state (almost). Even if Romney wins Florida, it wont be enough.

It doesn't matter because it's always a blue state. It's never in contention so it's never a factor.
Fact of the matter is simple: electoral college system used to heavily favor GoP. Now it heavily favors the democrats. The voting system shouldn't favor either party, which pretty much shows that the system is broken.

well what I meant was that theres zero chance for Romney to get enough votes to beat Obama when he gets his california votes
Yes, the system is broken and undemocratic. I don't like that for instance if 51% of the population of Florida is going to vote for Obama, then its only their opinions that matter. The 49% that voted for Romney dont matter.

It doesn't matter because California has a safe Democrat advantage and nobody was ever factoring it into the equation over who wins the election. People are looking at the electoral votes that are hotly contended to see which can tip the balance.
