I will be away most of the day on Sunday so I will not be able to join right away if that is the day the server opens. Obviously I'm hoping for a better time for the server to open, but just a fair warning if it is Sunday.

I have 2 setups one is End game one is Early game. Gonna go do something so I will edit this later to give my input.
Just gonna say though I believe anyone that wants to hold a tear should have Population Contribution for the fact that you can get so many more troops on a 0/60/60 to defend.
EDIT
Ok first is the Early game way.
1. Legacy
Heroes: Talented Hero 2
Troops: Barrage 4
Kingdom: 8
Equipment PAoS: 2
This strategy requires someone who is going the honor / wealth route. The whole aim of this strategy is to gather a massive amount of gold in a short amount of time to upgrade mines, recruit and expand quickly.
I recommend this strategy to anyone who is going to continue using their first hero (60/0/60 or even 0/60/60 but not recommended).

Its quite possible the 3rd S2 server starts on friday or saturday morning. I'll be ready either day -- and remember to meet in the TOH CHATROOM for referral links and coordination of the settling process. Obviously, DON'T join into the server without a referral link!

I noticed in S2 there is much more meta-alliances, consisting of more than 1 alliance. Seems S2 will be all that more challenging.

So how does this work.. I have never triggered my legacy.. so after I click the referral link will it take me to the legacy page so I can engage my legacy before entering world? Or do I need to do my legacy first then click referral link???

You can safely test out legacy at legacy subpage now. See what fits you best.
When you get refferal link, among town and hero name and other stuff, you will have legacy option. at that point you get to make your final choice after which it's locked.
