Alright. I've finished my matches with Swamplord.
First match was my Necropolis vs his Inferno. My defense was quite high, and I was able to slow down the Infernal hordes with mass curse and slow, allowing me to win the first match
Second Match was my Stronghold vs his Inferno (again). He got off to a nice start scaring off my Warmongers and killing a good chunk of my army, but I was able to recover and take out large chunks of his army with Horde's Anger.
So in Conclusion, Witchhunter: 2, Swamplord 0

Hi Necro, are you back in Berlin? I can play Sunday morning (gmt -5) if that works for you. Or very early tomorrow (Saturday) morning (like 7:30am -5gmt). What works best for you?

tommorow sounds good ... 7:30 in your country is 13:30 in mine so i guess its ok.

Let me see... what does that make in +1 GMT? Hmmm...13:30? I'll try to wake up before that then. No wait, Necro is usually 1 hour before or after me so I guess that is 12:30 or 14:30...

It doesn't matter. The point is that when the matriarch cast a spell(slow for example) it triggers the counter spell, so that it no longer can stop the Warlock from casting his Implosion or Meteor Shower or whatever...
Counter Spell only stops one spell and it doesn't have to be the opposing hero's spell, it can be any of the enemy's spell.

still better than the barbarian counterspell (goblins witch doctors) which basically allow the warlock to cast double implosion

i am allready awake and its 11:30 over here. i am 1 hour before you.

still, the Doctors can point their counterspell directly against enemy hero !

FINALLY after an excruciating series of lost connections, no time availability and hamachi ragehate we managed to play our games with Locksey after me switching to a PC in another house. Thanks for enduring it with me Locksey
Teh Replays
veco 2:0 Locksey
1st was my Sylvan vs his Dwarves.
I hate the treehuggers. I hate playing againts them and I hate playing as them. No mass spells save for stoneskin, pitiful spellpower and knowlegde. Dwarves have all the important buffs.
Unicorns blind like mad.
Bears can't get a stun off even after a charge.
Treants negate magmas.
Dragons furiously refuse to multihit but at least resist Cleanse.
Shieldguards use Rune of Dragonform.
Master Hunters dance in the firewall.
Locksey doesn't have ressurection = I win the game.
2nd - my Dwarves vs Inferno.
I intend to educate my opponent in the porper use of Dragonform rune on the Dragons.
I fail because he dies too fast.
I'm also afraid of Pitlords which amusingly die upon making melee contact with pretty much anything in my army. Oh, epic 15% resist on the meteor.
Inferno lacks Defense.
I lack nothing. Thunderclap rune is pointless because they're dead anyway.
My mana is bottomless.
All hope is lost.

Nice description lol. Well without Defense it's a forgone conclusion but I'm sure I missunderstood you for a second there veco because for a blasphemous instance I was considering the idea that you might actually have bought basic dragons with the purpose of using Rune of Dragonform on it. I know what a ridiculous idea right? RIGHT?!

So March is upon us, not a lot of time remains. If you see that you cannot play someone due to conflicting timezones I offer you the opportunity to gain those elusive victory points. But that will include challenging me for them and I will be MERCILESS! It's still in your best interest to play your opponents but at least you have an option now. The deadlines will not change.
Also if you have any suggestions for map improvement in the next phase I'm all ears. The map will not be edited while the first phase is running.

i have a suggestion: when some1 playing as orcs, he cant go back and return to his towns (i think so). maybe its better to put 2 doorway for them to the battlefield.

Then he'll have to be careful to be prepared before he leaves. A two way means that every faction would be able to get the extra stats from barbarian area.

Indeed, what corrupted mind could think of employing such a game breaking BUG in a tournament game?! It's almost or even as bad as exploiting frenzy with orcs!

The petty wars of Ashan, ritually fought as Duels in an Arena, is NOTHING. We must all unite against a much greater foe. So mighty is this foe that even the Dragon Gods themselves are powerless. It is called HAMACHI.
Three times WE were defeated, but this day, a day to be remembered forever, IT was finally defeated. Against the powers of our minds (our patience) the attempt to avoid connecting forever was futile.
That is VICTORY.
That is what matters.
Because of this the rest of this post, and Veco's post, is secondary reading:
Duel 1

And I hate playing against the treehuggers.
Against the treehuggers' luckfest the only important buff is ressurection.
Finally, I made very good use of the Rune of Dragonform since other runes were equally good.
Elemental immunity? - Yeah.
Exorcism - Of course.
Berserking/Ressurection - Someone has to die first.
Saving resources? - For what? HIT 'EM HARD WHILE YOU CAN, they may have all the important buffs.
Duel 2

Defence is for weaklings.
Actually, I had problems with learning Dark (and I never learned Master of Curses...) and I had to do a lot of talking with the mentor. Hence the 32 overseers, and hence no defence.
Conclusion
Veco promised me to play in an interesting way, but I don't see any interesting things in these games. It would have been much more interesting if I had won these games. But the games have no meaning after all...

Dungeon (L) vs. Inferno (A) replay
No defence for me, but lots of defence for albolabris.
Bad luck for me, but LOTS of luck for albolabris.
My arcane armour didn't work, was it even there?
Good unit placement by albolabris. I could only hit a few of his units if I didn't want to nuke myself as well, and I didn't want that.
Academy (L) vs. Dungeon (A) replay
The masterplan was the Runeforce set, albolabris said. To that I'd like to add a very brutal charge, DEFENCE, luck, power of speed and endurance, good stats, some nice arcane armours and more good unit placement.
I did some nice tricks with my Dark spellbook but the pressure was too high.

And so ends my time in this tournament, unless something unexpected happens, and I return to my course literature for a while. This tournament was a very nice break and even among the games I lost there were many good ones. Thanks everyone, especially Deathy and Veco, for your help.
I look forward to follow the tournament as a spectator on the stand!
