You need to use the H5_AIadv_3111_beta for it to generate these logs which can be found in the bin directory. (the folder your game client is in)

I did, and the log files are not created. I'm on win 7.

I think most of us are running 7. They're there in my TotE-files...in the Bin folder.

Its not there...in the bin folder where the game exes reside. Do you need to complete a map first of what? If it matters, my game directory is on program files, where I can't even edit a text file there, which is a win 7 trait.

You need to play using 'H5_AIadv_3111_beta_Play.exe' or 'H5_AIadv_3111_beta_Debug_open.exe', after each turn you will see the files 'system.log' and 'system_ai.log'.

You will have to be patient. The Wizard is in his lab, working on the Strategic End Stage and may be there a while yet.

It looks like the AI has just collected treasure on the map, Quantomas has reviewed the post and nothing points to the AI cheating.

Sigh, its not. I've watched the AI and I am very sure he either gets more resources than what he can afford, or he got discounts on building and hiring. I want to send the whole log file, but how? He don't even need to flag the ore mine and yet still builds every turn!

When I played against the AI, I always had MUCH more daily income and explore the map and take more resources every day and I will still have less overall resources than them. I will still always beat them of course, but I always love to check the tavern everyday and it really annoys me when they have way MUCH more resources than me when they only have way less income.

You answered like a bot without addressing any of the issue. Who cares bout a new beta if the ai still cheats? I'd like a line by line response please.

My installation is clean, I just reinstalled.

The AI is still saying, "I build every turn, running around with a pack of magma golems without any ore mines and I still had tonnes of ores left in my treasury by taking ore that is lying on the map! 500 gold income is more than enough for me, since I always have more than 10k gold!"
Are you telling me that the tiny random map I played is filled with billions of ores and golds? Or are you telling me that those resources are respawning on the ground with unlimited supply that only the AI can see and pick it up?

You guys did not even bother to check this yourself and instead dismissing all my point. Prove it to me that the AI can go bankrupt like a player does, eg. show me that the AI ever lack gold to recruit weekly creatures in his town.

Its obvious the AI cheat resources by looking at their build order. On what city level did they start building city hall. 20?

Explanation for the 33 ore? picking ore lying around? Are you kidding?

Note: Interestingly I just played the lota campaign and the ai does not seem to cheat resources. It stopped building once I seize all of the ore mines on the first mission... Maybe the AI only cheat on custom game with certain game option?

The Ai only used to cheat on hard and heroic difficulty levels. I cannot see from your log files which buildings he is building or which buildings were already build before the map started. If you start with 20 ore, 13 ore is not difficult to pickup on adventure map especially if gargoyle vault is nearby.

Please understand this;(I'm saying this in the nicest way possible) You're posting here, like you are an unhappy cop, trying make a nasty-court-case. Everyone that is on this project is stretched to the max on time. All here care about what you thnk you are seeing. But please...give this a rest, you don't need to say more about your question regarding the A.I. and resources

Please realize that there is an explanation for your questions but the man that can answer them is working on programming. You know, very complicated stuff that requires his full attention.

Those of us here that are responding are doing so out of courtesy. I am very busy myself with other issues. I am not going to attempt to clarify anything to you, lines of text make me go blind.

So, again, be "patient".

I figured directing you to that other thread may help especially since I recently found out that having other maps in that folder may cause problems... if the AI really is cheating you should post in the "Bugs and Known Issues" thread and upload a copy of your map along with your saved game, I use mediafire myself but there's alot of other websites that will host your files.

Cheers, Selvaria. I double-checked and there were indeed cheats remaining that gave the AI a discount on purchases (50% on hard, 70% on heroic) and an experience boost (10% on hard, 20% on heroic). These have promptly been removed as of beta 3.1.15.

You may now observe how the AI struggles to overcome the same problems as you, and how it has to make compromises because of scarce resources. All in all the game balance is now more minute, more enjoyable, and the AI has truly to stand on its own legs. It does now a better job on optimizing its build order and is up to the task. If you do an excellent job optimizing your own castle build up, you may gain an advantage but it is not easy. Enjoy!

Hello everbody,

I like to know if there is any way to deactivate the logging of the latest beta Versions. I am running Linux / wine and the last two betas where so slow that I can not test them.

The previous Version worked fine, so I think it may be the logging.

I agree that the turns are longer, but isn't the main purpose of Beta testing, to have the log to contribute if anything arises?

Logging

you are right but here on Wine it is not playible with logging always on because one turn take 15 Min. So if there is something observible i can end the game, start with logging, use a saved game, and run some turns with logging on.

another way may be if I store the loggin in a ram disk but this would make need to choose the path of the logfile.

If this is too complicated I will wait for the next public Version.
