Allmoor strode to the main hall, looking at the warriors assembled. He recognized only one. The dwarf hunter, whose theories were rubbish but who was an excellent swordsman. The others looked skilled as well however, perhaps too skilled. Allmoor slowly strode up, waiting to be noticed.

Dementij complimented the boar that Snorbald captured.
- A nice catch indeed. We usually hunt aurochs in this time of year. Bigger challenge.- He said. He then noticed Allmoor.- You here for the quest too aren't you? Well, don't just stand here, come, join us. The council we'll be assembled shortly.

"This catch was merely a lucky coinicdence. I never set out to go hunting today. And if I did, I would likely come back with something different." Snorbald was somewhat relieved to have someone older to talk to. Usualy Snorbald was the eldest warrior in any party or band he joined.
"I complimented your sons earlier today on your fine village. The Gods have been mercifull upon you this winter. For such a harsh winter, your people and cattle look plenty healthy. I've trekked along villages whose people and animals were little more than shriveled wretches."

- The spring flood was bigger than last year- Dementij said.- But it did more good than bad. And we managed to protect most of the herd from wolwes and fiends in winter. I believe we lost only ten cows. Now we only have some pesky imps running around messing with them. Untill Taruss carved that thing standing in the field. I don't know what he did to it, but the fiends are afraid of it like fire. We always pay homage to the gods during the spring and autumn festivals. The former was a month ago. But also the skill of a farmer and his devotion to his job is as important as the favor to the gods. I think that your hunted boar will be perfect for our dinner today.
Domerth emptied another keg, and just tapped another.
- We'll leave to north after three days. If what Heila says about that hermit is true, than we should get him before we leave- He said while refilling the jug.
- Because making a curve this long could cost us a lot of valuable time.- Taruss quickly cought onto the idea.- Vishan, I believe we can trust you with this assignment. You spend your winters in Prohna, he's sure to know you.
- Yes. I think he know's me. I bet we could get him in time, his home is not far from Prohna.
- Do what you have to. Just don't fall to the trickery of the fiends again.- Taruss smiled.- The council meeting will begin in an hour.

Allmoor nodded and sat down at the table, pulling out some of his food. He didn't trust them enough to eat their food yet.

Nordskib finally managed to stumble back to the house, asked the servants for where to dump the private supplies, and snuck the main hall wondering if he should dump the polearm in the corner, or if tradition dictated that everyone should look as armed and ornated as possible. Quite the dilemma, he was not sure yet. It seemed the short trimmed fellow(Allmoor) perhaps had the same dilemma, Nordskib was not sure yet.
An hour left to the council meeting? Time was sure lazy these days, waiting was so boring.
So he jumped seat next to the short trimmed guy, and got a keg of bear.
Hoping to make a friend for the journey he attempted to innate a conversation with his fellow tablemate:
"Have you ever heard of snailfish?"

Nordskib smiled before starting to imitate a bard, by worst of abiliy: "That seems to be what most people think, but they are apparently snails at the size of meadhalls, that devour fishermen once in a while, and have gills. And they carry small island instead of a shell. Apparently they move so slowly you could build a house on it, and the island would just move a few meters. Unless they decide it is the right time of the eon, for some reason they then go onto land and slowly creeps around eating elks, bears and oxes, in a horrible slow way. Apparently there are a few up them far up north i hear."

- There are welses in Noketh that are able to kill a man such as Omutt.- Domerth said.- Last autumn one such giant devoured a calf right before my eyes. Also I wouldn't advice to go running around in the Black Grove. Unless you want to be ridden around by the fiends. The leshii that live there sometimes can be very nasty.- He said to Joshua.
- I bet that Taruss can march through it back and forth while whisteling a happy song. All the fiends would run squealing from him.- Said Bograd and spat out a piece of chewed bees wax.- The first honey this year is excellent. Mead from it will be delicious.
- Bears also think that way- Said Dementij.- last week I found two killed by the spikes. So, Snorbald, had you got any luck in your search?- He suddenly asked.

"Hm, fiends, are there? I walked through that place three or four times when I became lost and nothing bothered me in the slightest... besides, they would only make the race that much more interesting." He sighed as he pulled out a strange looking book and began to read it. "Oh well, no one would be willing to race me now..."

The book is written in a language that none of the others understand.

"Ohh no friend, they would not freeze no matter how long up north they go!" Thorald broke into the conversation about the snailfish "You see, they are so cold blooded these creatures, that they can survive any temperature that is not to warm. If we one day had been standing in the sunshine sweating because of the warmth, then it would have been so hot for them that they would've melted away in the heat. While on days we would have been shivering in the cold, they would have been basking themselves thinking 'ohh what a nice day this is. Neither too warm or too cold!' Which is why so many people believe that they are inkind with fiends."

- The fiends of the north are hardly a problem. Who knows what creatures a guarding the tome. And they'll be far worse than a few trolls.- Said Taruss.- wild magic is also a concern.

"Yes, we can and must expect any hinderance to occur at any given time! Wild magic, traps, fifty foot tall fire demons. All those things are to be expected when we search for the Tome. But do not worry yourself, we'll pull through as always! Maybe even kill a few dragons along the way!" Thorald laughed.

It had been a long time since anyone actively and seriously asked for his search.
"The past couple of years have been fruitless. All my searches have ended in abandoned caves and mines. Most of them were never inhabited by the Dwarves and those that were did not point me into the direction of others. No, my search has been quite fruitless ever since I met that hermit years ago. Lunatic." Snorbald said. Then Snorbald looked lost in thought for a moment.
"Aargh, I keep forgetting. Sorry, Chieftain. You said just now that you honor the Gods in the spring and the autumn. Which struck me as strange. But I keep forgetting that you Urusshan do not celebrate the Solstice as we Norns do."
Snorbald reached for a tankard of ale a young lady was offering to the guests. He took a big gulp of the brew.
"But you'll understand that your sons' quest is as good a lead as I can get, beter than old legends."
Snorbald poked Joshua, who sat beside him, with his elbow.
"And you should know better than to challenge your elders to something as juvenile as a race. If you want to challenge me, than do so in the morrow and challenge me to a true challenge of manhood."
Snorbald turned his attention back to the Chieftain.
"And you Chieftain, what keeps you running these days, other than those busy bees of yours?"
