Spiders are only in that one cave, they don't exist elsewhere.
Too bad that cave exists everywhere though.

That is my biggest problem with DA2, that they hurried so to make a sequel. I like fantasy games, But I want them to be huge and epic. There should be an abundance of creatures and locations.
I mean DA:O was in development for more then 5 years, while DA2 was just released one and a half year after DA:O... :(
Please Bioware, take a decade or something when you make DA3 so that it may turn out to be real epic and awesome.

while i agree with all the criticism above....i must say that the rouge character has really impressed me....isabela dishes out serious kick ass damage as she developes!

I have been playing for about 40 hours so far, and I am still in the Act I !  So, the game fits my expectations very well.

SLow story yes, I am what like no where in the story, I think it is difficult sometimes..
And well, I love how many ways you can make the character

funny review. That's how I always pictured the game: simplified to the extreme gieb-us-moar-money version of DA. Well, with the streamroll of ****ty DLCs with 30min gameplay and 15$ price for the first DA, no sane person would hope for a better scenario.

Haha awesome review he surely sums up all the bad parts and well, I haven't even completed the 1st part of the game
But I still enjoy some of the game

Reading the reviews I was expecting a worse game. Of course cannot even be compared to Origins by the way. Origins is a legend.
I love the new ability trees. Abilities were really chaotic in Origins, my whole bar at the bottom of the screen became full and I had to drag many out of the bar. Most of them were alike, some totally useless, etc. Now it is perfect really.
But that "copy-paste" places!!! God! What a shame for Bioware! Did someone treatened them and said "if DA2 won't be out in March, you will die?" And that stones they put to some of the doors in that copy-paste places to make them not completely same?! They think we are idiots 
I love the combats. Origins combat were very slow for me. At the first day I played Origins, I thought I made some wrong adjustment Now the combats are epic really. But the opponents are weak. Until the end of 2nd act my main character didn't die, not even once.
-Spoiler now-
But the end of the 2nd act! If you chose to duel with Arishok... He is unbelievable. I am a rogue, so I have a low vitality. And with his every hit, I am flying to the other corner of the room And so I had to lower the difficulty.
I hope the 3rd act is long. Because that would make a very short game if it is equal to 1st and 2nd acts.

He was a piece of cake for a mage, no challenge at all.
Warriors also have it easy.
Did you have stealth? It's a hide and seek with him.

Yeah I hear he is easiest for a mage as he has no cold and nature resistence. But immune to fire and electricity. I had stealth, but that gives only one free strike for me? Then he would again teach me how to fly. I even have assasinate with all upgrades which does serious damage, but my strikes doesn't interrupt his and after I assasinate it is time for me to be crushed again.
Maybe I will try it with "normal" difficulty now, again. I don't think I'll win, but My problem is that as the game was so easy up to that fight, I didn't feel the need to buy some potions with Anders being a healer and all. So I have only 4 health potions in that fight 
Edit after half an hour:Well, I did it  It seems I needed someone give some courage to me That should teach me not to give up that easily

You were using the stealth wrong. You go hit him after his attack, stealth, get away, repeat. Even better if you've got evasion and all the other fun stuff. Lacerate is also pretty damn nice.
Potions are scarce in the game anyways. You would have to be scouringt he market everytime after you level up or finish a mission if you'd want to have a decent amount of them. Better not rely on those.

Anyway, backstab and assasinate right after did the trick for me. I would feel sad if I didn't go back and win in the normal difficulty, so happy to succeed

That's wrong. I firestormed the guy and he took damage every hit like he was supposed to but he managed to resist some of my cone of colds and winter's grasps.

guys i think u should post pics of the Hawke character that u r playing with in his/her the equipment u like best. although given the very limited varieties of weapon/armor in the game i guess there will b many similarities. even then i think we should all have a look at each others hawkes. i'll post mine shortly....make sure to include briefly what equipment the character is using along with the screenshot.

Finally finished the game on Nightmare. Sided with mages. Hawke lvl 26 and a half Completed nearly all quests, playthrough took about 200 hours. Yes, I spent a lot of time just walking around Kirkwall - so damn beautiful city I played DA and enjoyed it, but DA II is, actually, a brilliant. No matter how much copy-pasting your encounter

You had a lot of free time there, my friend.
The biggest problem I had with DA2 was the story. Or, more exactly, the humongous lack of it. It was insanely boring for a BioWare game. Hell, this would have been boring even by Bethesda's (lack of) story standards.
Other than that, It was ok-ish. Smooth combat, maybe too action-like for my taste. Good skill threes. But I usually play an RPG for the story, so it didn't satisfy me that much.
