Definitelly the most popular (and most crazy) is Jebus Cross, but you can try others too.

wow, after all this time my map still #1

One would expect at least the creator to call it template, and not map

Lol yea, it's been a while since I played

Still, it made me really happy to see.

Originally the Jebus Cross map was both an attempt to make a map that people wanted to play, and also a trolling attempt in the debate on random vs fixed that was going on at the time (The side I was on, random, of course won in time)

I wanted to make an epic map that was balanced in that everything was there for everyone, so that they could make choices about what strategy to go for (get dwelling first or maybe gear up for an early midbreak, or maybe double/triple build at teh expense of expansion).

At the time, people thought the concept of 1 person getting  a level 7 dwelling, while others didnt get one, was unbalanced. So I wanted to make sure everyone got at least one

Well, not every time there is one in Jebus. But this doesnt mean its unbalanced.

The great achievement of Jebus is that its simple design, and this helps newbies to start to understand the idea of "templates".

imho Jebus easily shows players the most important skills:
- chaining (8+ heroes from day 1)
- ability to make the right priority for fighting map objects and for map exploration
