Thanks, B-E-T-A. I would love to join but I'm not sure if I'll have the time. Count me in for now.

Should it be something like this...

Name: Lady Nocturna (let's say)
Race: Half-Elf, Half-Human
Class: *something magic-oriented*
Weapons/equipment: Staff, daggers, poisons (if I can have stuff like that)
Appearance: Black clothes, black hair, black eyes...
Background: ?
Skills and abilities: *something magic-oriented*, thief
Personality traits: Selfish, has two faces, dark, brutal... (you get the point)

Yeah, that would do. Though there might be more restrictions for the skills and weapons, as I'm not sure these will fit the Fire-Emblem restrictions.

Or, as appearances go, you can do as I often do and link to an image.

Yeah, that would probably do. But as I said, character sheet would be made by gnomes, so my sheet will probably not be one we use. Anyway, what I wrote was just an example.

But yeah, you got the gist of it.

Also, background is the characters backstory. That is to say his/hers life story up until the beginning of the RP. Have anything interesting happened or not. Here let me post an example using one of my characters in another RP: Thorald from Blades:

Quote:
Name: Thorald Tharaldson
Age: 37
Race: Norns
Weapons/Skills:
Shaman Magic - Trained to be a shaman from young age, Thorald has 'mastered' the arts of enchantment, totem making, spirit walking and nature magic.
Master Marksman - Thorald is a master with the bow and arrow and prefers to use that over other weapons. His bow looks like this and "it is said" that a druid once predicted that "when this bow breaks, a King will lose his country."
Twin Axes - A pair of axes that Thorald uses should he have to fight in close-quarter combat. Thorald himself believes the weapons were crafted by Barash, as both heads are engraved with lynxes, and the end of the hilts are shaped like the claws of two lynxes which hangs together with emeralds. Thorald found the weapons frozen in a solid iceblock and after standing for twenty days and nights thawing the ice with his hands, he finally got them freed. Or so he says... Unsurprisingly, the two axes have minor ice abilities and are ice cold to touch, no matter time of the year and day.
Potion Making/Herbalist - As any other shaman, Thorald knows how to make a quick a few potions and what kind of herbs that are used for healing and other effects in the nature. One of Thorald's "favorite" potions is the one that sends you into berserker state, as Thorald often uses this potion as a last resort when he needs a bit of extra power.
Awful Scald skills - Being the boaster he his, Thorald often tries to make songs about his adventures, but these usually turns out badly. For all the things Thorald is, he is not a talented singer or song-maker.
Background: As a child, Thorald was picked up by the village shaman as one of two that had the potential to succeed him. During his childhood all the way to maturity he and the other kid was trained in the ways of shamans, but although Thorald was the better of the two candidates, his dreams of adventure and glory in combat made the shaman chose the other for his successor. No pride lost, Thorald accepted the decision without hesitation and before the next day had come, which coincidently also was his 14th birthday, he had packed his things and left for the grand world.
Personality: A boaster and a thousand stories man. After his 23 years out on traveling foot Thorald can tell stories about being in places doing things "no other man could've". "If it happened, Thorald has either been there, seen it or experienced something similar in the past, and he also fought a dragon while doing so." some people would say. Because of this some believes that all of Thorald's exploits are big bluffs, but those that actually have met him knows that at the very least some must be true, for they could see that Thorald is far from a weakling.
Some of his actual true exploits(in other words, those that have been proven to be him):
- Slaying five trolls almost single-handed
- Tricking two giants to start and eternal battle for honor with each other
- Killing over a hundred armed men (bare-handed?) on his way out of captivity of a Urusshan tribe
- He fooled the warriors of an Shakk tribe to follow him through a marsh, where he would use his shaman magic to make the marsh devour them

Some other stories told about him:
- Winning a wrestling contest with a Troll who then agreed to free a bunch of sheep it had stolen from the local farm.
- Saving the life of a forest spirit who in return made him his bow, later a druid would make a prediction about this bow.
- He traveled so far that he came to a land very everything was covered in sand.
- With the help of the Gods, he slaugthered an army of Jotuns who had been planning to invade the world of men and kill, rape, burn and pillage anything they came over.
- According to rumours, Thorald also fought demons, undeads and a bunch of other monsters along side a black-haired giant who wielded a huge chunk of iron that some would call a sword.
- Thorald Tharaldson also claims to once have found The Armaments of The Gods.

The reason I posted the whole character is so that we keep it in context. What you mainly should concentrate on is the background so you get the gist of it. Plus it also helps by showing you another character sheet.

Great job explaining everything, BETA!

Now to answer the wall of questions...

Quote:
Okay, so let me get this straight, we're keeping knives? Why? What good do a knife do?((I have played PoR and RD, but I frankly never saw the use of knives))

Really, it's just for magic users like the walking healers and the Signer tree, who don't have any real weapons. All non-mounted classes can use them. (Though, these weapons will have their uses...)

Quote:
Also, what do each one of these units upgrade to? And what do those units upgrade to? How many tiers do we have anyway?

Trainee-class(Initiate, Journeyman, pupil, etc. Lvl1-10(?)) -->
Tier 1(Mercenary/Ranger, Archer, Fighter, Cavalier, etc. Lvl1(11)-20(30)(?)) --->
Tier 2(Paladin, General, Hero, Sniper, etc. Lvl1(31)-20(50)(?)) --->
Tier 3(?)(Trueblade, Sentinel, Marshall, etc. Lvl1(51)-20(70)(?))

I was thinking to the second or third tier. (Depending on how far this goes).

For now, I've got the trainees---> 1st tier classes down. They rank up automatically at lvl 10 (From 1-10) and change as follows...

Initiate---> Monk, Priest/cleric (depending on gender) Troubadour. Journeyman---> Fighter, pirate
Pupil---> Mage, Psyonic
Recruit---> Knight, Soldier
Scout---> Cavalier, Wyvern rider, Pegasus rider
Sell-Sword---> Thief, Myrmidon, Mercenary
Signer (just created!): Alchemist, Rune mage
Acolyte---> Shaman, Caller
Hunter (The archer class)---> Archer, Cavalry archer

Descriptions:
-Initiate: A beginner in the healing and holy arts. The initiate has a minor ability to use staffs, light magic and healing. Equip: staffs, light magic.
--Monk: An initiate who has decided that the offensive power of holy magic is the best way to protect the down trodden, or serve their chosen deity. Equip: light magic
--Priest/Cleric: Healers who use sacred staffs cure their allies or curse their enemies. Equip: staffs.
--Troubadour: Mounted clerics who use the sacred staffs to quickly heal any wounded ally. Equip: staffs.

-Journeyman: Young axe fighters and adventurers who have dreams of glory. Equip: Axes.
--Fighter: Powerful axe fighters who are skilled at hitting their foes. Equip: Axes.
--Pirate: Fighters of the high seas, the pirate has to know how to swim, and has learned how to do so while still fighting. Equip: Axes. Special: Can walk on water at 1/2 (Rounded down) of normal movement.

-Pupil: Young men or women who have apprenticed themselves to a magic user of great power. Uses one of 5 types of anima magic. Equip: Anima.
--Mage: Semi-Skilled magic users who have great skill over their art. The generalists of the magic users, they have no bad stats, but don't shine in anything except skill. Equip: Anima.
--Psyonic: Young mages of the mind, these mages have their own form of attack, and no longer require the magic tomes of normal mages, though they are not as powerful as their anima throwing counterparts. Equip: None. Special: Psychic assault, an attack that has power=2, hit=95, wt=0 uses=infinite

-Recruit: Young spear wielders who either volunteered for the military or were conscripted. Equip: Lances
--Knight: Heavily armored, durable and strong knights move across the battlefield with their lances held at the ready. Though slow, the knight is hard for any weapons user to harm. Equip: Lances.
--Soldier: The generalist of the physical classes. Soldiers are average in all skills, and masters of none. Equip: Lances.

-Scout: Beginner riders of noble steeds, the Scouts move swiftly to report their enemy's position and quickly rescue any of their wounded allies from sticky situations. Equip: Sword, Lances.
--Cavalier: Healthy and well armored, this rider is swift, strong and rather heavy. He/she uses blades and lances with the same skill. Equip: Swords, Lances.
--Wyvern rider: The horse was abandoned for a flying reptilian. Durable, strong and skilled, magic is these warrior's bane. Equip: Lances. Specials: Flying, weak vs. lighting (-6 res vs. lightning magic)
--Pegasus rider: The horse now has wings. These riders are lightly armored, fast, skilled and shrug off magical attacks. Archers shoot their fragile steeds from the sky. Equip: Lances. Skills: Flying, weak vs. Arrows (-6 defense vs. bows.)

-Sell-sword: The most basic of mercenaries, the Sell-sword is fast and very skilled. They aren't the most durable. Equip: Swords.
--Thief: Fast and lucky, the thief has nimble fingers and can pick locks with any of their various tools. Equip: Swords. Skill: Steal (can take any non-equipped item in an enemy's inventory if they have higher speed than said enemy and more strength than the item's wt.)
--Myrmidon: Fast, skilled and decently strong, the Myrmidon has a slightly raised critical chance. They wear almost no armor. Equip: Swords. Skill: +5% crit.
--Mercenary: The slowest of all the swordsmen, but easily the strongest, mercenaries are not the luckiest or most resistant of all the fighters. Very durable and skilled. Equip: Swords.

-Signer: A magically attuned person who took it upon themselves to study ancient books. If they had a mentor, then their mentor has already left. A signer can do almost anything that another class can do. Their symbol has an amount of charges per battle. Equip: None. Skill: Symbol (# charges per battle= 2xMagic, if used to attack or heal, then the power is 5+magic. Automatically hits. Can unlock doors and chests.)
--Alchemist: A signer who decided learning to master their rune offensively. It can be any kind of magic in the anima circle. Using the symbol automatically gives the Alchemist the advantage over an anima or light user. Equip: None. Skill: Advantage over anima. Alchemic symbol. (7 power. Uses=2xMagic)
--Rune mage: Symbols are used by these signers to empower their users. The use blades to defend themselves, but can no longer use their symbol for anything but empowerment. Equip: Swords. Skills: Rune marked (+1 Strength, magic, defense and resistance every 4th level.)

-Acolyte: Initiates in the summoning and dark magics. Acolytes use both kinds of magic, until it becomes clear what they excel in. Equip: Summon, Dark.
--Shaman: Dark mages who are the powerhouses of the magic users. They have very little luck, choosing to rely on their own power instead. Equip: Dark.
--Caller: Summoners of the second circle, callers summon the forces of nature and spiritual beings to fight for them. Their magic makes their creatures more powerful. Equip: Summon.

-Hunter: Just your every day old archer, feeding his family. He has skill with the bow. Equip: Bow.
--Archer: A very good shot with their chosen weapon. They can use bows and, after a while, crossbows. Equip: Bows.
--Cavalry archer: Mounted bowmen who can move after they attack. Fast and durable, but not as good of a shot as their walking counterparts. Equip: Bows.

Also do we only get one char or do we get several? As I seem to recall having quite the army to command in the game.

I was thinking about starting with 2 characters each.

Well what I am most outraged on is the fact that you spelled Myrmidon as "Mrymridon" and Shaman as "Shamman".

Anyway, read through your current list and as any other human I am not good with change.

Psionic? Ehm...won't they be...outpowered in late-game if their attack/weapon never gets better/upgraded?

Knives. Originally knives was a second option for magic classes(you could chose between having knives or staffs. And frankly, it sucked. Mages attack stat never got high enough for it to be an effective B alternative to their magic.
But also, in the same game thieves got it. Which also sucked(in my opinion atleast) as the thief now wasn't such a decent combatant as he had been back when he wielded swords in the GBA games. Or maybe its just me...

Anyway I will try to remain open to change and psionic sounds like fun with the only problem being what I stated before. Also, where be my necromancer? xP

EDIT: Also name suggestion for Summoner: Acolyte.

Monster-class? Those were only in sacred stone and we never got to play them there either xP But it could be fun to play one .

Also, as War-Overlord said, what about Non-/Sub-Humans? Laguz(humans that can transform into animals), dragons and the like? Would we get acess to those? No wait, dragons are a bit unfair...

Ahh, I see. Well that kind of sucks for you. But yeah monster-classes. Would be fun to have monsters around although I cannot imagine myself playing one xD

As for races: In the Fire Emblem universe you have two races who(as far as I know) have appeared in all games:
Humans(Beorc) and Dragons(Usually they have a human form and need stones to transform into dragons before attacking)
Other races that have appeared are the monsters/demon from Sacred Stones and the Laguz from Path of Radiance Radiant Dawn(Humans who could transform into some kind of animal depending on what 'tribe' they belong to. You had Beast(Tiger, Cat and Lion), Bird(Heron, Hawk and Raven) and Dragon(Black, Red, and other coloured dragons) tribe). Any other races that would appear in this RP would not have appeared in the games.

Now don't take this as a "I don't think we should have other races" I just felt that seeing as not all of us have played all games/any of the games I should put it up there.

Right, whatever. We only got two of them.

Anyway what I am most concerned about is

Quote:

I must express concern over how this class will work. From my veiwpoint it would end up either being fairly overpowered or underpowered. Spoony Bards...

EDIT: With that I mean: Please explain to me how this class will actually work.

@ War-Overlord: Races? We have humans and monsters/ animals/ demons. Depending on what direction we want to go we might get an angel to fight...

@ BETA: The Signer class tree (a person with a sign or symbol on or held by him/her) is going to be underpowered until very late game. The Alchemist can only use their sign and knives to attack (Max magic is 25). The Rune Mage can't use their large stores of magic for normal swords, and their stat caps/ growths won't be very high anyway...

Character sheets!

Alright, so here is what I will need...

2. Class.
3. Appearance.
