I would chose Sylvan (good faction), but after H6 I really worry what kind of crap they could put in it. Waspworts were nice, but probably won't be only oddity in the line-up.
Voted for Academy H3-style. Just for a variety and ensured quality 
BTW, creatures in H3 academy and H5 are actually the same, just some of them have more legs.

But seriously, another which-faction-do-yous-like-best poll. It's a little early, since Vanilla is not yet dawning on the horizon. And I'm not going to vote, because in my opinion all news is good news. So if we get another faction in an upcoming expansion, it doesn't matter to me which it is. Except maybe Conflux, that one sucked monkeys. So anything that isn't Conflux is fine bys me.

in a ideal world Ubi will hear the opinion of Heroes fans, and due to this vote will have an idea of our preferances for expansion.. so after the Vanilla release, they will work on expansions with factions that will make us all happy  hehe

Try Facebook then and say that you DON'T want something - most likely they'll listen. The forums - just forget about them.
On the other hand it's overly optimistic to think that they haven't decided which factions will be in which expansion yet. Chances are that the first add-on is being worked on as we speak.

What new faction would fit H6s story then?
I can think of a Faceless faction, some Ylath faction with avian creatures and perhaps a Free cities faction (which could include anything really, but my idea is that many Beastmen now dwell in those).
Otherwise they could almost completly remake old factions such as making Academy a lot egyptian (the Ashan story even says that the wizards in H5 are different from those in H6) with creatures such as the Sphinx replacing the Gargoyle or Golem as animated stone creations.

I agree that in the optimal world developers listen to their fans. But in the optimal world developers also know when and where to listen to their fans. And I once again will quote Ben "Yathzee" Crosshaw when he said:Quote:

When you take this vote 16 times, you'll get 17 different results. As every other Heroes fan has wildy varying ideas of how the series should progress. And listening to one will mean alienating the rest.
No, Ubi has shown quite the dedication to invite several key-members of the Fanbase to their inside-forum. That way they can listen to the fans, while at the same time shutting out all the whiny Prancibalds.
So the Ideal Developer will know when to listen to us and when to ignore us because we're throwing a childish tantrum. And for a Fanbase as devided as ours, that last part is far more important.

The Heroes I-IV Dungeon/Warlock/Asylum seems to be gone for good and while it was my second favourite faction, its Heroes V incarnation makes me vote for any Academy.

I would be happy with any faction that comes up AS LONG AS it is decently designed and doesn't have even a singly idiotic creature that pulls the whole faction down. A few comments I'd like to make on each potential faction for it to suit me personally.
ACADEMY - It may be either snow or desert based, I like the atmosphere in both. However if it is desert based, I don't want Arabic Mages and even more an old man with a turban for the Hero. The Rakshasa HAS to stay, we know that Nagas won't come back to Academy anyways and I like the general design of Rakshasa Rajas. Gargoyles...please...make them look like H2, H3 and H4 again. If the lineups in H6 require at least 2-3 new creatures, the ones I'd give away from Academy is Gremlin (replaced by Halfling), and I don't think any other modifications for the Academy lineup would be a good idea, as the faction would seem incomplete without each of the units. BOSS: (I'd like the Titan to be Champion, therefore Boss could be a Zeus-like Rakshasa that throws thunders etc.)
DUNGEON - Dark Elves... I seriously didn't mind their presence in H5 themselves, but they should have been neutral, and I couldn't get over the disappearamce of Medusa and Beholder from the faction by the Blood Sister and Shadow Matriarch, and the Lizard Rider was just ridiculous for me. Minotaurs, as mentioned so many times before, should be at least tier 5 and not enslaved. Hydras were nice as always, a fun 5 headed indestructible lizard with no retaliation and other defensive abilities is a great addition to any army. My proposed lineup for H6: Troglodyte, (new creature, as Harpy's in Stronghold, maybe a dark version of Gargoyle), Beholder, Medusa(or a New, as the Coral Maiden kinda resembles her), Minotaur, Venom Spawn!, and (new creature, possibly a giant worm that can burrow under the battlefield or such) BOSS: Black Dragon
SYLVAN - I always liked this faction and pretty much all of its incarnations. However, this isn't for the boring Elves, but all the magical creatures that could be exploited and used in the game. Proposed lineup: Sprite, Wolf, Elven Archer, Unicorn, Waspwort!, Treant, and Faerie Dragon! BOSS: Phoenix
Fortress(H3) - One of my favourite factions it has to come back! The atmosphere and generally a world so diverse to all others, it's an unbelievable waste it hasn't been used since. My proposed lineup: Gnoll(yes), Lizardman, Serpent Fly, Basilisk, Lizardman or Gnoll Shaman, Gorgon(bull), and Wyvern BOSS: Hydra
Fortress(H5) - I represent the minority of people who liked it in a way, and although I agree on the lineup being too monotonous and boring with Dwarves, I loved the general atmosphere and a town based in a crater, not to mention Heroes riding Mammoths and the Magic Runes. So I'd give the Dwarf fction a chance, and it could be made very interesting if some Nordic mythology creatures were introduced, my proposed lineup: Defender(normal Dwarf), Gog(or similar creature), Warbear, Runemage(I loved them), Efreet (or Ice Demon even), Fenrir/Hrothnir, and Roc/Thunderbird BOSS: Magma Dragon
And I'd like either the Quetzocoatl or Behemoth/Gargantuan as the Stronghold Boss.
