If you are going to use a Town Screen to prove a point, please use Dungeon instead.
Academy's was just boring. 
And once again, window or not, the inferno town in Heroes 6 looks amazing.

Fair enough.
I just want to make it clear that even if most people don't like the Town Windows. It doesn't have to mean that there is something wrong with the towns itself.
For example I hated most of the towns in Heroes 5 even if they were presented in a nice way. (3D townscreens)
Horrible H5 towns like Sylvan, Inferno, Necro comes to mind...

To be fair you shouldn't use a full build town screen,since there are also not all buildings on the inferno window.Not to forget,that you only posted the picture of the town for academy or dungeon,but you posted the whole screen(where you can see the units of your hero and so on) of the h6-inferno

Oh my, I never expected to cause so much confusion with the whole "new" vs. "good" discussion
Of course I agree with the moajority of the posters above.
Reducing a town screen to a town window, without "adding" at least as much value in the process, is an "innovation" only in a nihilistic sense.
And as I personally am I sucker for options/variation in a game, the notion that the H6 towns might (and I repeat for my MrDragon friend: might) have a significantly lower amount of buildings than in H3-5, frankly scares me to death.

Agreed, I hope we get some insight into the buildings soon.
We've now covered creatures pretty thuroughly, Heroes have recently gotten some screen time, I say buildings deserve some spotlight now.
And I hope we still have a decent number, because there being less, seems very probable.

Don't get me wrong i absolutely adore the artwork of new Necropolis!
but my point is that i would like to enter my town.. feel the atmosphere.. enjoy the music... build Necropolis by myself.. be part of it...
this is what i'd like to see.. a full screen beauty..
... but not what i am getting instead...

well i'd say you start with empty Town.. but you are the one who build it.. step by step you achieve the true beauty.. And it is a FULL SCREEN Town Window.. so you can actually feel you are inside of it.. rather then you see a Town in a WINDOW? Just like a picture in the wall..

I am NOT against the changes, but changes should be for GOOD!!!
Making the things worse just for sake of having something new is a horrible mistake!!!
the best example is Disciples3.. a game that was RUINED by NEW changes which were in addition implemented badly!!!!

And in H6,that won't change,you will also probably start with an empty town and you will build more buildings to make it complete.
However I agree with what you say about the feeling of a full screen town.

After seeing Darklord's post at the top of the page, I just realized that my all-time favorite town screen has to be Academy H5.
Thanks pal for sharing, the bird's eye perspective is even better than the in-game one (I don't remember if you could tilt the town up to this high an angle).
Man, I am going to be sooo pissed if they don't present us with sth at least as awesome in 1920x1200 come September 8th

Let me start by saying that I certainly do not consider MrDragon butting in my bidness. In fact, I thank him for saying those things while I was away. In fact the following interpretations are absolutely correct and exactly what I mean with my statements.

And by left behind I mean, that if this spoils your enjoyment, then that is a pity for you. Those who will not let it spoil their enjoyment will continue on to enjoy more in the future.
And yes, times change. And the change will happen, even if you manage to forestall it now. And it may be not now and it may not be in the near future. But eventually things will change.
Much of this complaining reminds me of those crotchety old-timers, you see in cartoons and the movies. Those old guys who do nothing but sit on the porch all day and complain about everything that walks by or pops in their head. Those who say things like: "We used to walk 20 miles to school everyday! On bare feet, through the snow and uphills! Both ways! You dang kids on your skateboards are just lazy punks!" and "When I was your ages, we played with dirt and sticks! And we liked it that way!".
Many of you remind me of that. I'm not saying that you are like that or that you complain about everything, but you do remind me.
Further more, perhaps I am guilty of demagogery. And I do so enjoy the use of rethoric and imagry. But MrDragon is right in saying that you put words in my mouth. And I indeed said that the town-window is a step backwards on page 18.
And I never said townwindows are good. And I never claimed that I am in favor of townwindows. However I Am Not Against townwindows. And if you fail to see a difference in pro and not-against, then all the more pity to you. Also mind that "A step backwards" does not equal bad.
And giving a diffenent opinion may make me a troll in the eyes of many of you. So be it.
But differing opinions need to be heard as well. And the moment you bar me from offering a differing opinion, you sully yourself more than I may do with my "demagogery".

First of all i am not amongst people who think that you are trolling! God forbid..
the only think that confuses me is that for me it seems that you seem pleased with every decision Dev's are making.
While in some cases like Tier system, Reputation system, Cutting resourses and so on, i'd say it's a "matter of taste"..
I mean some people may like it , some not!
Combined with the explanation Dev's gave about their decision, makes it quite reasonable to discuss and have an opinion..
But in case of Town Windows the "one second" reason given to us it is just incomitend and actually rude!
For a Homm fan it is just like a spit on a face! I mean do they even realize what they are talking about? It is a goddamn TBS!!!
Town-Screens are part of the things that actually make Heroes game a Heroes game. Changing them means is a really big thing, and there MUST be an important reason for that!
With the one they gave us.. Sorry but that doesn't sound important at all.. 1 second? spare me..

For starters I never actually accused you of preferring town windows, I hope that's clear.
And now let me rephrase you for the last time:
"Town windows may be a step backwards, but you really should get used to it because it's a new feature which Ubihole has every right to implement. Those who don't accept that and keep protesting, are stagnant whiney losers. Someday things will change anyway, so you better start accepting the change right away!"
Did I get it right? If so, then that's pretty much what I heard you saying in the first place and that's what I was opposing to when I told you about this new and even cooler version of Heroes.
Maybe you should start accepting the fact that everyone else is not as conformistic as you, and that some of those different people fight their fights pretty passionately. Your never-ending moralising preaches and your patronising laugh at more passionate fans makes you a troll in my book and your last post didn't (wasn't meant to either, I'm sure) make me change my mind.
PS. Please allow me to remind you once more that this is a FAN forum dedicated to a COMPUTER GAME franchise. It's not the rightest place to give people left and right speeches about "facts of life", "adequacy" or "silly emotionality". Seriously discussing aspects of some made up fantasy world isn't the most rational activity in the first place, regardless of the exact emotional tonality involved.
