QFT. I have a hard time to see how this interface was made by a professional.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid it was based on common solutions from other games.
In fact, H6 resembles many other popular games in many aspects, but loses it's own identity.

I actually like the physical art style of the UI quite a lot. What I don't like is the total absence of any "fullscreen" UI pages, which have traditionally been a hallmark of the series.

It just feels inexplicably weird to be managing my hero or town in a little "streamlined" window.

The "art" is fine, but the design is terrible (small cross on top of windows for closing, buttons at the bottom, the hero inventory is poor, the skilltrees and the building trees aren't user-friendly, etc...)

This is do not agree with. I don't consider making a box with some opacity and adding a 2 pixel border art. It would be fine if it was made by an amatuer, but not by someone hired and working professionaly in this field.

These are professional interfaces:

This is not:

It's a box, a box with opacity, border and rounded corners.

To think placeholders look better...
Ok, I can't defend these town screens anymore. I will join to any petition against them.

The problem with the UI is that the designer wanted it to be all graphics and the minimum text possible, and he/she/they forget that sometimes text are important.
Also, an UI with little details is beautifull, but not when these little details are the buttons to validate or cancel your actions.

Too bad none of the community representatives "officially" resigned because of the arrogance and negligence that has been shown regarding to town screens. To this day I am amazed that - with all due respect -  our representatives were able to tolerate this. Sure, it's wise to be constructive, but theres a line somewhere you have to draw.

Point the finger at me if you wish, I hate the town screens as much as you do, but I don't think ragequitting the VIP forum would speed up the production of a fix.

It's my responsibility to ensure that Black Hole are fully aware when they're making a stupid move. If they continue to pursue the stupid move despite numerous warnings and quotes from hundreds of forum members in their faces, it's up to them. I can't personally force them to do as I ask.

Ragequit is not the only way of giving up, I believe you actually know that. In a way the question here is about trust: if we, the community don't trust them cause they (most likely Ubisoft) don't address our biggest concerns, then why should you as our ambassador trust them? You have probably done everything that you can (and who knows, maybe even more than anyone else could), but that STILL doesn't mean it would be essentially "wrong" for you as our ambassador to feel cheated and to feel that the cooperation doesn't look like it's really working i.e. is constructive enough, cause - you know - they refuse to Listen and Construct. Believe me, there are "diplomatic ways" to quit If one quits, most probably somene else will take the quitter's place, but in a way The Point is made - that the respect should actually be mutual on personal AND on professional level.

PS. Talking about speeding or not speeding up a fix in context of town windows seems kind of unappropriate as nothing so far has indicated that there is going to be a "fix" at all.

Yes, but you know that I can't tell you everything that goes on, no matter how badly I want to And that is not a sneaky hint that I'm sure there will be a fix, but be assured that if I ever found the suggestions and feedback I relay from this place becoming totally impotent and unheard, then I would leave. I'm not there for my own benefit, after all - like you said I'm a representative, I just want the Might and Magic series to be as good as it can be.

I am disgruntled about the town windows. But for all their huge importance, they are only one component of the game. Even if for some reason I wanted to, it would be totally inappropriate of me, diplomatically or otherwise, to quit at this point - the game balancing - and leave only Elvin to convey the feedback of this entire forum to the devs. That sort of feckless vanity move certainly wouldn't benefit people who want to buy H6. There would be no clear picture of what Heroes Community thinks needs to be done to the beta.

Cepheus, please tell them about the core units' problem and the speed problem. I personally find it incredible that no unit has a speed of less than 4, that upg. goblins are faster than griffins, seraphs, vampires and so on. I don't know where their heads were and I don't understand how these problems haven't been fixed by now. They are so obvious. 20 inside beta testers at most were enough to point this out, for Christ's sake.

I'd also point out that they didn't keep their word on making the battlefields bigger and the number of adventure map buildings is way too small, but I'm not sure about the latter. Even so, I think objects like artifact merchants, marketplaces, trees of knowledge and such would've been available by now. The diversity of adv. map objects is simply too small.

Well I can live with them even though I find them ugly. I'm more bothered by the poor interface.

What's your point ? Trying to be logical in a fantasy game ? What's the speed of a seraph in real life ?

That's not the best logic you got there. It's just good sense. Flying units and cavalry are usually faster than foot soldiers in any game ever released. Speed makes no sense in Heroes VI.

It also means you can exploit the inexplicable high speed of ranged units. You can run away and sneak some shots then run some more and I don't find kiting in HoMM very fun.

So yeah, now even I must say that the current Town screens aren't nice at all. :/

Now please note that I still don't have any problem with the size of these things, however the towns themselves are just horrible. (though some are better then others (inferno ))

I mean they already have access to good towns:
