Now that I have finished the campaign, and I only need to get the Heroes info up and then I will start working on the sequel to this faction. That faction will be very original and almost have only new creatures.

Great job Xerox, you just destroyed my favorite faction.
Nymph, Mantis Queen, Huntresses? Really? These are just super uncool units.
Where are the Druids? H5 Hunters are far more cool.
Your creature selection is just so uncool.
The best possible lineup of creatures for Sylvan would have been:
Core
- Blade Dancers (their model should be the one from H5. I love that creature even though I find it useless most of the time)
- H5-style Hunters
- Unicorns
Elite
- Druids (again, I love the model from H5. Their model should stay as is)
- Beastmasters (they need to be super manly beefed up Elves. Make it happen!)
- Pegasus
Champion
- Treants

I don't think Xerox creature selection is terrible.
Mantis as Champ unit is an excellent choice, imo, sticking away from the overused Dragons. Phoenix could also be Champion unit, but I think Mantis choice is a bit more original.

Looking back at this three year (!) old faction, I'd probably have made some changes to the line-up today. I think the Warcraft influences are obvious and a bit over the top when it comes to originality. The Shifter would probably not have made it today. I also think it was a bad idea to have essentially TWO treants, a male tank and a female shooter/caster/support. It would have been sufficient to just root for the Dryad and let go of the Treant for once. As for the Mantis, I was going for sort of an insectoid theme with this interpretation of a Sylvan faction. It shows in the Pixie, in the aesthetic of the Dryad and, obviously, in the Mantis creature. I still think that fits Sylvan, as opposed to the old boring "everything elven is nice and pretty" trope, but that the Mantis ended up being a pretty dull and non-iconic Champion.
what I like most about this faction is the Symbiosis racial, it really fits the Sylvan thematic and would make their gameplay truly unique

Well it's not exactly the way I would have done things, but it's certainly a refreshing look. As for the Stuff Jeremiah posted, blade-dancers are crap, beastmasters are crap, unicorns must be elite creatures, and pegasus never really felt to me like it belonged in Sylvan.

yeah Blade Dancers were really not among the more well received creatures of H5, which IMO makes them an easy choice to cut from the faction

I think Blade dancers are the coolest Sylvan creature in H5 concept-wise (and the animation too. Gosh, I love how they strike everyone with their blades from their back). It's just that it's not implemented properly. Give them a 50% chance of dodging retaliations, like H5 ghosts, which would make sense because they're fast, and they would be better received by people.
And wtf, Nymphs, Huntresses, Mantis Queens? Sorry guys, this is not female hating, it's just that the Elves doesn't fit the girly girl role. If you want a female-oriented faction, have fairies. There, you can include nymphs, pixies, mantis queens and the like. Fairies isn't the same as Elves.

You're the one who needs to grow up. Just because I didn't include any female units for the Elves doesn't mean I hate women. I offered a female-only faction by the way.
Anyway, Xerox, the story of HoMM 7 can go like this:
After Sareth unleashed the demons from Sheogh, chaos has spread throughout the continent, destroying everything in their path. The Dwarves fled to the highest mountain where the fiery demonic army can't reach them. The Orcs are completely extinct. The Unicorn Empire is destroyed and the same fate greeted the Elves of Irollan.
The Surviving Factions: Necropolis and Academy formed an alliance to rid themselves of their greater foe.
The survivors of the Irollan massacre fled to the western continent, along with their human allies, the Wolf Douchy led by Rutger. The Elves are led by Findan (but Findan won't be the main character in the campaign. It will be Talanar). While the humans have had an easy time settling in their new homeland, the Elves met some hostile Fairies in their new forest. These Fairies worship Sylanna but that's not a common thing with the Elves anymore.
After Avernus, the new King of Irollan made their decision to stay, as commanded by Sylanna in his dreams, many Elves including Findan and Talanar questioned if Sylanna really wants their well-being. The destruction of their homeland and slaughter of a lot of their brethren made a lot of Elves abandon Sylanna and turned to Ylath.
Later, the Elves proved to be superior as they easily beat the Fairies and established a new homeland. The Fairies fled to the deeper part of the forest. Though, the Elves can easily conquer them if they wanted to, they decided to live harmoniously in their newfound homeland.
The Elves are not Sylvan anymore since they abandoned Sylanna. They are now Preserve.
Oh and if you're wondering what the lineup of the Fairies would be, it would go like this:

btw, jeremiah. why would you necro a thread, just to ***** about it, like somebody had a gun to your head, and was making you play his faction(which he doesn't even have a mod for, ffs)? i don't understand the anger. you act like xerox has any sway with a gaming company, and is fully intending to screw over your favorite faction in a game, just because he feels like it. unfounded hostility, if you ask me.

I think a mantis queen is far more logical than a male mantis, as the females are known to eat the males after/during mating. This creature could even have the invisibility ability like shadow panthers and assassins, as matices are ambush predators

^ Stronger makes the cut mentality? So does this mean all Haven creatures should be male? Just giving you a logical logic to think about.
From what I know, female mantis are usually heavier and slower. So if you prefer a tank type mantis, choose a Mantis Queen. Male mantis are usually faster and can fly. So if you favor speed, which Sylvan is all about, choose a Mantis King.
And I don't understand why people call me a hater. I was just merely criticizing. No one calls people out as haters when they criticize H5 Fortress faction.

Actually it's exactly the other way around. The central figures of Sylvan are elves. Pixies, treants and unicorns don't build towns, have kings or hire heroes. They're helpers for the elves, which are practically the blood of the faction. Nothing moves there unless elves move. Prove me wrong with any H5 campaign.
And I myself believe that blade dancer is a very cool creature. It inspires agility and swiftness, which go well with Sylvan. The thing that I don't like about them is that they are very fragile in their almost lady-like appearance. Make them look more menacing and they'd be perfect.

And nothing Academy moves without Wizards, but they got exactly one wizard creature in their faction, so your reasoning is lacking.
