Well yeah I am sortof smart .. but not school-smart. I have a very high IQ despite failure in school, so I don't know.

I have sent an e-mail to get an appointment with someone in the army-base in my town to get some information and stuff. I am already talking to my gf about it and will talk to my family tomorrow.
I am the kind of person that want to get down and dirty, so to speak. I want a rough day with lots of exercise and where I can prove I am better than other guys. It might sound bad, but it would be the perfect macho-test for me
Oh and trouble is I cannot have a break, as I am kinda broke and without a job, education or any job-references. It has been pretty much this way for three years, which is why I see this as a solution.
But again, I am not sure as it is a very very large decision.
And yeah, Meroe, I am kinda thinking the same myself. Only trouble is I think guns are cheap .. I prefer a good old fistfight

I stopped a year ago cause it would have torn my hair straight off ... I bleached it once each month and used a can of hairspray and wax once a month to keep it that way. I mean, it was seriously dangerous. I could even have been poisoned (not that it would've worked, as I am immune to all kinds of poison!  )

Not familiar with Norway, but if you are a part of NATO/UN forces you might end up in middle east/africa/balkans/ etc

In the states soldiers get free education, not sure how it works in Norway but you should get all the facts, do you study while in the army or just get paid to do so after the army ? Is army education equal to civilian education when it comes to job opportunities ?

you don't have any interaction with politicians, their decision have influence on you but you don't have the interaction, your commanding officer will probably be a retard and you are stuck with him no matter what, as a soldier you no longer have rights, as a soldier you are army's property, that is something you must understand and be ok with, I had a huge problem with that and it's not like a job where you can just quit

Keep in mind that his agenda is to enlist you, everything he says might be a lie or half the truth, whatever happens do not, do not sign anything, tell him you need to think it over, I repeat do not sign anything, I suggest you talk with actual soldiers before making any decisions, people from family, friends, soldiers who have no interest in recruiting you but only in telling you the truth.

Training is something you do at the beginning, training is a small and a fun portion of the army, army is not an proving your skills and training, to get down and dirty is to kill people, that's what they teach you in the army and if you do get to experience combat it is something that will be a part of you for the rest of your life, not something to be taken lightly.

Can't say much about this but most of the time when it seems we are left with no other choices we are wrong, there is always another way, you just have to look harder, being pushed into a decision is a bad decision, but then again I don't really know a thing about your life so... You know the best

As a part of the army I might end up in the middle east, yes. But generally Norwegian troops are rather safe.
I am going to ask about information when it comes to education and the likes when I get a meeting with someone from the army 
I am better at practical stuff than theoretical, so I will be alright. I am good at simply following instinct and stuff, so yeah.
Well then, I've done football and boyscouts and lots and lots more so I have plenty of experience in heaps of fields.
Well in a job you cannot just quit either, there are laws and a certain time you still have to work after you quit, etc etc etc. Besides, I prefer being face to face with the person in charge rather than just hating the person through a screen.
Norway is not USA, here they will not accept everyone into the army. I will ask about information just for information, and if he lies then I have plenty of rights that will defend me if I decide to quit if what I was told was lies. I have a friend that's a lieutenant, haven't talked to him in awhile but I guess I could try to get in contact with him again and ask him some stuff.
I've had a pretty rough life so far, I actually think I would be able to take a life without having to be trained to do so. So yeah, I think "getting down and dirty" army-style could work out. That's something to be found out.
And trouble is I've looked very hard and talked to councilors (right word) and stuff ... I really don't have many options anymore.
Oh, and I am the mastermind behind Meroes plan. I am simply using her to take the blame

They don't accept anyone in the states either , I think mighty or mythical is in the american army. It's not about lying it's about false promises, twisting the truth and marketing stunts, at that meeting you will be told flashy, cool, interesting stuff because the goal is to enlist you, in the reality you will be given other stuff just like in the movie trailers

Well I will see then, what comes out of the meeting. I know it's not all great, but no job is all great. So I will just see what comes out of it really.

What's your minimum sign on time? Year? Two? Three? Five?
If it's more than one I'd recommend checking if your eligible to try for officer while under the contract.
