My version of the Dungeon

This is my version of the Dungeon, pre-Dark Elf. Here's the line-up and flavor for some of the creatures.

Heroes:

Overlord- Dragon Lord (Tears) or Tyrant (Blood)

Warlock / Sorcerer - Dominator (Tears) or Dark Destroyer (Blood)

Core:

Thrall - Forsaken Thrall (basic melee)
Watcher - Beholder (shooter)
Gargoyle - Wargoyle (flyer)

Elite:

Minotaur - Minotaur Gladiator (offensive melee)
Hydra - Abyssal Hydra (tank melee)
Drake Rider - Shadow Knight (flyer)

Champion:

Hidden - Ancient (caster)

Flavor

Sample Core Creature:

Thralls were once human beings, broken and twisted through dark magic. Years of living underground had made them pale and blind, and they rely on alien senses to perceive the world around them. Their tortured origins had made them into perfect soldiers, highly disciplined and nearly impervious to pain and fear. Sometimes their masters carve magical tattoos into their flesh to endow them with additional powers.

The Forsaken Thrall is the upgraded Thrall.

Sample Elite Creature

Drakes are winged, fire-breathing reptiles, somehow related to the feared Black Dragons of the deep Abyss. Some say they are their young- others claim they are a separate although very similar species. Like Dragons, their scales start with a reddish hue and grow darker as they mature. While being way smaller and weaker than true Dragons, they still are mighty creatures- cunning, greedy and wild. It is considered an important test for would-be Overlords to break and tame the savage spirit of the Drake, although most of them die in the attempt. Those who succeed join the ranks of the Drake Riders- the Dungeon's elite aerial cavalry.

The Shadow Knight is the upgraded Drake Rider.

Champion

The darkest, deepest places of Ashan, just a step above the fires of Sheogh, is the domain of the Faceless and from there they rule over all the dark and unwholesome things which call the Abyss home. Their origins are shrouded in myth and rumors- the darkest of which claim they were the first Warlocks, who sold their souls to the Dragon of Darkness to become creatures of living shadow. The Faceless once ruled over large parts of Ashan as demigods, playing the mortal races against each other as puppets to understand the the nature of the souls they no longer had. Their dominion was crushed by the Angels and their allies during the Elder Wars, and the few that survived fled underground- seething with hatred and plotting their revenge in the shadows of the Abyss. Over the centuries they had created or enslaved new armies of monstrous creatures, and tempted mortal Warlocks and Overlords with promises of power and immortality to lead these armies into battle.
In the rare case one of the Faceless actually enters the battlefield they make horrific opponents- while fragile of body, they can crush and enslave the very minds of their enemies and blast with magic those who would not submit.

The Ancient is the upgraded Hidden.

A bit more

I didn't post pictures yet since I didn't have the patience to search the internet for them- yet. Here are other two creatures: the Gargoyle and the Minotaur.

Core:

Gargoyles are vicious and foul-tempered creatures, an artifically-created race of hunters who glide silently on leathery wings looking for human prey. The Gargoyles of the Abyss were originally the creations of the Wizard-turned-Warlock Sar-Salian, inspired by the Seven Cities' own Gargoyle constructs as well as the creation of the Orcs. He created Gargoyles to serve as aerial scouts by injecting slaves with Draconic blood and further twisting their forms with dark magic until they were no longer human. Their scaly, rock-like skins and sharp teeth and claws make them well-equipped for the hunt-and the inevitable killing of their prey.

The Wargoyle is the upgraded Gargoyle.

Elite:

Minotaurs are a form of Beastmen, created by the Wizards of the Silver Cities to replace the rebellious Orcs in their armies. When the Beastmen followed in the Orcs’ steps and overthrew their masters, the Minotaurs fled underground- and into the domain of the Faceless. Unlike Beastmen who are human-based, Minotaurs are based on Ogres magically fused with the essence of the Bull- giving them hideous strength and durability. In peace-time they hone their combat skill in gladiatorial matches between one another, poor human slaves and other monsters for their masters’ cruel amusement, while during war the select Minotaurs who survived the grueling trials of the arena serve as the elite shock-troops of the Dungeon armies. Their natural strength and courage is complemented by high discipline and combat experience stemming from years spent on the bloody sands of the arena. The highest hope of a Minotaur is to prove its skill in combat enough so it would gain its freedom, and command its own small army of monsters as an Overlord.

The Minotaur Gladiator is the upgraded Minotaur.

Opinions?

All I ask of the inevitable Dungeon in Heroes 6 is that it loses the S&M vibe and gets rid of the incredibly dull and insipid Dark Elves.  Even though I've often quoted Dirty Work for "You didn't count on my loyal army of prostitutes, did you?" I do not relish leading another loyal army of prostitutes in the Heroes universe.

Tier  1:
Beholder (shooter)
Blood Maiden (walker)
Dark Pegasus Rider (flyer/caster)

Tier 2:
Manticore Rider (flyer/caster)
Medusa (shooter)
Minotaur (walker)

Champion:
Black Dragon (flyer)

Something like that. Not terribly original but I like most of the old units. Remove one rider if two flyer/caster's are too much. Could alternate and take out Beholder for Assassin if Beholder is overpowered for tier 1, but if so I think the Blood Maiden may have to switch to Troglodytes so that there's not too much dark elfs, but if so gives them a good growth rate.

Well, besides the prostitutes, s&m part and the rest of it...

Basically less elves and more epic creatures would be cool

I enjoyed leading my loyal army of whip-wielding prostitutes... and men with bull anatomy... and snakes with many long slithering heads...

Wow, this faction is kinkier than I thought.

I would love a dungeon without any dark elves. I think it suits the faceless better. But definitely I want it to include the Chimera as one of it's strongest creatures (perhaps even the champion since dragons are too powerful):

it only to powerful when it is a tier 7 i like the red and black dragon too but i think every time they put it in get harder to balance the lower unit since everybody expect it to be a powerhouse

What do you mean the faceless were the last one? You mean the last "race"?

The dark elves (hopefully) don't exist yet. The elves as a whole split before H5. So my thought would be that the faceless are the original Dungeon, and that some of the elves joined their side and became the dark elves (but this happened after H6). When the faceless had established a powerful force they moved on, conquering new territories, and that's why we don't see them in H5.

Edit: I looked at the timeline, and H6 will take place at 564 YSD, while the Dark elves struck a deal with the faceless at 540 YSD. Hopefully the faceless will be dominating Dungeon, I hated the dark elves. I can tolerate maybe one creature, but no more than that. The heroes should at least be faceless!

Ok, yeah it said "one of the few surviving faceless", but they can still be heroes! They don't need to be creatures, the creatures can be beasts, as they've always been.

you say you hate the dark elves and you still have a dark elf as avatar?
But well either way,the timeline doesn't have to prevent the dark elves from appearing,I mean the undead were also no nation at this point in the story, but they still appear in the game as a faction.

That's actually a little funny I like Dungeon, but I still hate the dark elves Mostly because there were two elf-factions, and the dark ones were just a copy of Warhammer.
Well... still hoping they won't show up in H6, but if Dungeon is in one of the expansions I'm pretty sure they will
