Ability : Any enemy stuck fills the bar any pushed enemy fills it even more. All the creature attack have a 25% to curse the enemy with earth mark or dark mark increasing damage from those spell
Free  1) Light and darkness affinity - Hero push an enemy back and pull an ally forward or vice versa
Level 1) Alluring darkness - selected creature his filled with darkness and tries to attack the creature that is closest to the back of the field
Level 2) the hero can cast a shadow and earth version of the empowered implosion spell
Level 3) infinite shadow - Every creature outside the 3 line of your side his affected by shadow and earth damage

Advantage   : Good balanced fighter can fight in close combat as well as from afar. Good magic user. Has different strategies but most effective one is to corner the enemy in the back
Disadvantage : Slow movement since used to tunnel, no flyers(except Embodiment of darkness 1st form)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Faceless : Shadow meld whenever there is darkness there is a place for this creature to hide. Any creature passing to close to this unit will be gripped by one of this creature shadow (A unit walking inside the 5 by 5 square surrounding this creature will stop and loose his turn once inside better not get out or you'll suffer it again)

shadow lurker : Envelop 1 unit in mist causing it to be unable to move for 1 turn. If the unit is a shooter it also cannot shoot and ranged retaliate (2 charge)This creature cant be attacked remotely except by area spell (it can be attacked physically) Ethereal suffer only 50% of physical damage. any creature fighting in close quarter with this creature must stay in place

assassin :         shooter this creature range attack cripple foes reducing their movement greatly (flyers are affected even more)
this creature can loose her ranged ability in exchange for invisibility (2 charges) and no enemy retaliation. Also
any creature stroke by this creature breaking invisibility will bleed causing double the damage each turn for 4 turn
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
minotaur :       Large creature. Savage charge this creature ram into the closest creature and project it in the air (to the back of the field)if it a small creature, push it 5 square back if it large and get only no retaliation if it a boss can be used only once

Embodiment of darkness : The name of this creature resume best how it should be feared. It his sometime a lion other time a mist but one thing is sure nobody know what is true form his. Elves often tried to follow it to discover its secret but where astonished to find that they were back right were they started.
Elves who accepted Mallassa blessing where offered this creature has a gift (This creature has 2 form one which grant him movement and the other offense and defense.1st form activated ability grant him a mist trail covering the ground he walk. No creature can pass the mist for 2 turn until it fades)

hydra :           (Basic) : whenever this creature is attacked or has a turn it gain a head (max 3) This creature can use a ranged tunneling ability
against a number of creature equal to the number of head once during the battle.
This creature can retaliate any ranged attack also by tunneling.
(upgrade) : Same except now it can grow 6 head and hit up to 6 target. This ability can now be activated 2 time
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Malassa priestess :       Master of the shadow this creature can summon mass of it to damage the invaders of the underground and sometime draining her in the
process. (Caster and ranged. This creature can use a shadow attack against all creature in the starting 3X10 starting square of the enemy but not on the first turn and only if no creature are in the 4x10 square of your side. The priestess must loose her next turn after using this ability) Any unit struck by this ability is cursed and receive extra damage from shadow attack or spells) This creature always act first in a fight. Legendary Hero
my common sense is tingling!
posted April 29, 2011 09:03 AM

the title sounds kinky.

anyway, I would like to submit my faction idea which came from way back when I was mulling over the idea of "Heroes 7: war in heaven"link here. an army of black hearted hedonists who delight in cruel experimentation and slavery.

Core
Tormentor -> Excruitator
The Tormentors form the dark elven core of the dungeon army. To become a Tormentor, a dark elf must spend 50 years of study in the art of causing pain, where they are put through every conceivable form of torture, until they become ecstatic with pain and the infliction there of. Excruitators are often the ones doing the “Educating” and are armed with the Daggerwhips to lacerate their enemies from afar.

Gargoyle -> grotesque
Gargoyles are evil-smelling, hideous creatures, created by the dark-elven warlocks from particularly strong captives. Through painful surgery, wings are grafted to the victims body, their faces and limps are imbued with fangs and claws, and their skin is “Charmed” with gnarly hardness. Grotesques are the Gargoyles who have survived for many battles, often to the extreme detriment of their looks and sanity, flying into combat with poisoned claws and deadly fangs.

Minotaur slave -> Minotaur guard
Minotaurs form the bulk of the Dark elven army. Once a peaceful, noble race, the minotaurs were brought low by the magic of the elven invaders, and forced into gladiatorial combat and menial service for their amusement. The Minotaur Guards, after much hardship, are those who have killed ten score of their own kind, and are battle-hardened individuals, often pumped full of adrenaline before battle.

Elite

Mandrake -> pure shadow
Mandrakes are Dark elves whose desire for power meant they handed themselves over to the Warlocks entirely. Never a wise move, but these Dark elves often have nothing to lose. Transformed into terrifying creatures of pure night, the mandrakes strike from the darkness, sowing fear into enemy ranks with ease and skill. The Pure shadows are strange creatures, able to fight not with swords, but with darkness itself, with some whispering that they are actually the soldiers of evil itself.

Abomination -> Warped Abomination
Abominations are created by those of exceptional flesh-crafting prowess. Barely alive screaming behemoths with multiple mouths and untold stitches, they waddle into the battle-field, too scared of their warlock creators to disobey, running in, hoping to die on their enemies blades before they wipe another army out.  Warped Abominations are those who have been especially created to explode on death in a shower of offal and encased spells.

Mistress of anguish -> Siren of screams
Concubines and maidens of warlocks, the Mistresses are often blessed with a chance to peek into the Warlocks tomes of magic. Dancing into combat, the mistresses unleash wave after wave of spells, cackling with glee as their enemies are turned into ash, screaming. Sirens have this style of magic almost down to an excellence, drawing enemy mana with a song before blasting it back again with a giggle.

Champion

Chimera-> Chimera Prime
The Chimera’s are the twisted pinnacle of the warlocks mad experimentation, a hulking Behemoth, a hellish mixture of Lion, Black dragon, dark-elf and who knows what else. The Chimera flies into battle, gleefully scorching its enemies whilst shrugging off even the most powerful of spells. The Chimera prime are even worse, as they can somehow call to the rejected flesh-craft creations, the troglodytes, and bring them into battle enmasse.

That's why she's a spell-caster. Jeez, if magic can not be used for something so practical, then it's worthless.

It's a little something called "Baals Minion" from Diablo 2.
A terrible enemy.
Don't know what to call it, guess I could call it Abyssal Destroyer like in the Creational Game thread.

And the Myconid is a complete rip off from Nightterrors work.
Couldn't think of any other replacement for the harpy... :/

You see since Ubihole is hardly going to give up their precious Dark Elf Dungeon, I can at least dream of a world where there exists two Dungeon Factions.
One with the Dark Elves, pretty much like the one in H5.
And another one with more freakish units and creatures, pretty much like the one in H3.

@Ohforf
No they're not.

Yes they are!

And you call yourself a heroes player!?

They are melee units with single target attacks and aren't particulary fast. It's like fighting a bunch of Naga Queens, slow them down, lure them around, it's incredible easy even on Hell diff, with a seriously underlevel character! Of course if you face them head on, you're asking for trouble, as much as a sprite is asking for trouble, if she takes a dwarf head on.

Further more, their immunity is fire, of all things! They have little to no chill resistance (they of course have the basic hell resistance levels).

No, tomb vipers, they're scary, unless you get some ~40 PDR (then you're immune to their attack). Otherwise they deal 40 damage, 25 times pr. second. That's 1000 damage!! In comparision, those monsters of yours deal ~90 damage, twice pr. second, which is 180 damage.

The Tomb Vipers are ranged and their attack is invisible. Their speed is incredible, and their resistance is cold (or poison), i.e. either no easy way to slow them down (apart from unholy auras, golems, etc.) or no easy way to stop them regenerate life like crazy (except for open wounds). Further more, they're only found close to the barbarian necromancer! Basicly means, every time you manage to get one down, you get a 40000 damage AoE explosion in your face! Unless you of course lure them away first.

Almost evrything in D2 is easy if you play a Hammerdin and farmed some crazy gear.

To the AVERAGE PLAYER, Baal's minions are pretty damn scary.

V-- right, so you see then, the creatures aren't staticly easy or hard, it depends on the character/gear/player facing them.

If you play twinked everything is easy. Try an untwinked hammerdin against a horde of Archers in hell act 1..

Edit: Of course it depends on your tools at disposal. The point is, if you've equivalent tools randomly selected from a pool of tools of equal value, then Minions of Destructions are on the easy part of the following scale of monster difficulty, while something like Gloams are on the hard scale!
