P.S. I will support Estonia for the rest of this semi-final. Be it a sign of baltic brethren or whatever, but it was the sole song with a catchy chorus.

Was that the song about some streat or city or whatever? That was actually not bad.

Rockefeller street. I know rockefeller center or something is a place in NY. Annnd a dude named rockefeller Other than that, no clue if there was any specific meaning behind it.

Rockefeller street doesn't exist irl. The song is about an imaginary street in NYC. Still a c00t song though.

If you want a song for Hungary that suits for English as well, this a pretty good choice with a good creative and an English composer. And please don`t admit that Gabi Toth is the Hungarian Pink unless you lived here. She`s a big time Pink poser b*tch even if she has good voice (which she obviously has) but the only reason she was able to survive here is that she turned into a celebrity wh*re. Check out her sister, Vera (or Veronika, which name you`ll find) her voice is even more beautiful and practically nobody knows her.
However, I don`t say you couldn`t find a better Hungarian song if you wanted to (an idea is to check one of my older posts in What are you listening to...)

I guess the best ones from this semi (which was in average quite terrible, yeah) are Serbia and Finland (apart from Hungary ofc)

Well I am absolutely FOR everyone singing in their NATIVE language, and yes Toth Gabi has a great voice, and it's a shame that she got "sold" to show business, but that doesn't mean she can't go to Eurovision and kick the scene's ass with a energetic, vocally correct HUNGARIAN song.
And I DO know Toth Vera, yes it's a shame she isn't too known (even in Hungary, I'm Polish and live in the UK, I suppose she might be known in neighbouring countries like Romania).

What do you think about Hien? She's IMO a talented young singer.

I want to post this list again if no one minds, also I am 100% that if any of the singers from my list represented the corresponding country, that country would have a very high chance of winning, while ALSO keeping their language.
Quote:
Here is my list of some singers who I'd love to represent different European countries, please listen to them and compare to the broken English trash currently dominating the scene:

FINLAND:
Jenni Vartiainen - Malja I love her, she's got a great vocal, a Finnish Amy Lee
Kymppilinja feat. Mariska - Mina
Haloo Helsinki - Perjantaina
Heck, why not Nightwish, even though (strangely) they sing in English.

POLAND:
Ewa Farna - Ewakuacja That girl's amazing Ewa Farna - Cicho
Sylwia Grzeszczak feat. Liber - Mijamy sie It's a nice duet with actual songs about SOMETHING Sylwia Grzeszczak feat. Liber - Co z nami bedzie

ROMANIA (Romanian dance muic ftw):
DJ Project feat. Giulia - Nu
Andra - Dragostea Ramane I'm actually sure Romania would win with this song.

HUNGARY:
Hien feat. SP - Tudom jol This girl has actually got a great voice.
Szekeres Adrien - Olyan mint te Hungarian language is just amazing.
Toth Gabi - Eleg volt The Hungarian P!nk! Toth Gabi - Szalala
Children of the Distance feat. Patty - Emlekezz ram

RUSSIA:
Слот - Мертвые Звезды BEAUTIFUL SLOT - 2 VONY
Tracktor Bowling - Time I love this one.
Julia Savicheva - Esli v serdce
Юля Савичева feat. T9 - Корабли  Julja Savicheva feat. T9 - Ships Cool deserty stuff.
TATU!!!
Nikita - Mashina JUST JOKING! Or maybe...

FRANCE:
Eths - Crucifiere EARGASM! Eths - Bulimiarexia
Shym - Je sais French Beyonce! Shym - Je suis moi
Kells feat. Candice(Eths) SWEET!

LITHUANIA:
SokoLedas - Man nebeliko nieko Girl power! YEAHH!

Please listen to some and say if you wouldn't rather have them

EDIT: Added Lithuania, and will add more soon.

In most cases (about 95%) I am also for singing in native language, in fact, my greatest Eurovision experience was Urban Symphony back in 2009 (it was the greatest shame they did not win) from which I did not understand a single word. I know, Estonian and Hungarian should be relative languages but what to do...
Btw, what do you think about Poland`s entry? I think the song was OK, but the show was terrible.
Hien is IMO a bit overhyped down here, mainly because of her exotic, Vietnamese origin but she definitely has talent.

About yesterday`s semi: where on Earth did people put their common sense and hearing????
Moldova was So Lucky they got in with this horrible ska-rock-whatever mix.
Sweden? Ugh. Ireland makes me sick.
Austria is a top candidate without a question. I guess Romania and Denmark can be considered this as well.
Slovenia was not bad if I forget those pathetic high voices in the first minute. Otherwise, this girl is really a poor man`s `Stacia.
Bosnia was quite boring.
I really liked the Belgians, they were very creative and it was not just a shattered mixture of everything.
Another shame that Netherlands did not qualify even if it would have been better if they had sang Dutch.
Cyprus would have deserved a spot IMO.
Estonia is a pedo heaven but otherwise really nice.
Slovakia? Hey guys, the golden girl was outsang and crushed by a single background vocalist.

And some last words for Skrentyz`s list:
I prefer the original dubbing of Emlekezz ram. This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D78L3qJG4Aw&feature=related
And my personal favorite, Ibolya Olah:

@Skrentyz: Thundertale IMO would represent Lithuania the best. However they're too awesome to enter such narrowminded and shallow competition as eurovision. I'll leave that 'contest' to pop singers who show at least a bit of talent.
Although I haven't heard Lithuania's entry song for this year, but I think that Sashenko will be somewhere in the middle and not the last place.

For me yesterday's competition was a win-win situation; if Saade lost I would be happy and if Sweden qualified I would be happy.

In my humble opinion yesterday's competition was rather boring with very few good or bad songs, it was too even.

Some random comments:

It's tragic that the Swedish introduction movie was about VIKINGS, couldn't they find a better stereotype? OMG, Lexxan has a viking avatar!!!

I love Belarus = catchy chorus sing a long nationalist ecstacy stupidity.

Nice guitar-musiqq in Latvia, but other than that I don't like it.

After my weekend on a choir festival I must like Belgium.

The German guitar and song medley during the commercials was Lol.

I remember the Ukrainian sand art but not the song, which is problematic in a song contest.

Jedvard - kind of similar to Saade but better. Hope they take each other's votes so that a good song can win.

The Danish is song similar to a Swedish song that I didn't like, but didn't dislike either.

DO NOT FORGET THAT IT IS IN YOUR INTEREST TO VOTE FOR SWEDEN.

That's ok, you'll have some points from Romania then

Now seriously, I dunno why so much people hate Sweden's entry, I mean, it's a good song. Of course I don't like Eric Saade, but the song it's nice, energic, and has a message: 'be popular!' . Another thing is that the performance from the 2nd semifinal impressed me. The dancers were very good, and man, the guy can dance and sing nicely !

Another song that a lot hate it's the Greek one. why? It's a good combination between Greek music, a little opera (which is very good, not like France's 100% opera, that song is also very good, but I think they kinda exagerated with so much opera) and rap. It's a bit strage for me this year, but I really like those songs which had rap in them.

I'm waiting for the final, it's hard to say who will win I hope not Lena again, I mean, I'm not a hater or something like that, I like Satellite and I think it deserved to win last year, but c'mon, one time is enough
