I can only recommend you delete the previous download. Go to the ddo website and try again. Sometimes the DirectX thingy screws stuff up.
I downloaded over a year ago, so I can't remember. Sorry.

Yes I had directx 9 and it downloaded directx 10 and yet on the problem things it recommends you use 9 and not 10 as 10 causes problems. It also mentioned about Vista a lot of older games don't like vista. I have windows 7

I've downloaded it twice though. How can it be that both of them stuff up? One is from Fileplanet and one was from the site itself that has the download client thing. Both screwed up. I don't want to download for a 3rd time as that's over 10 GB's in a few hours.

You need to directly download from the official DDO website. Sorry william I'm not much help. Its a massive MMORPG, massive and this does happen.

The one I downloaded from the official website is the one that actually let me get to the install. However, it then proceeded to telling me that several files were corrupt and all this rubbish.

I think I had this problem once will and it had actually installed, I eventually found it lurking in my Show Hidden Icons bar.

Well, it comes up with boxes saying corrupt file this and that so I choose ignore. It finishes the installation and I can get the loading program up where you put in your account and everything. I do that and then it says that certain files aren't there...the ones that failed to install because they were corrupt and I chose to ignore them. I am downloading it again but if this one fails to work then I don't know what to do. 
Edit:
Ohhhh it seems to have not gotten an error in installing so far. Well, I did a repair with the zip one that I got. My winrar was being annoying so I just used zip and it copied over fine. HOPEFULLY the rest of the install goes well. The two main ones at the beginning are fine though and it seems to be installing fine.

bad RAM or hard drive? try running a chkdsk /r on the drive you're files are on (may require a reboot ant long wait).

Nope. It got to a certain bit and then said that some sound file was corrupt. I had redownloaded it and the same thing happened. I'll see if I can get it from anywhere else but I am really doubtful now if this will work. I was looking so forward to playing this as well. I'm not going to give up but yeah, looks doubtful for me. Unfortunately. If any of you find any information that may be useful then please don't hesitate to let me know.

I hope he does as well. I uninstalled the corrupted game I had and am reinstalling it as well as downloading for a 4th time but from a different site this time. Hopefully I will have some luck and maybe join you all tonight or tomorrow.

Lol still having troubles. Keep getting some corrupt files. This is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. I've never had such troubles installing a game before and I've wasted so much of my bandwidth on this bloody thing. 4 Times I've had to download it with the 4th one going now. Like what the hell?

Jeesh Will that really sucks. I suggest you get in touch with them, there is something seriously wrong if the download is corrupting files.

Won't be much use I'm afraid. I've seen several forums where people ask questions and the only things they say is to turn off your anti virus or download it again. Other than that, they don't give any specific ways to solve this problem. I'm not turning off my anti virus for obvious reasons and I've downloaded it 4 times. How many more do I need to do before something actually works? :/
