Well, you can pick warcries later. How about regeneration skill at lvl2 (helps a lot vs tough neutrals)?

Well, no, in fact it's not.
Or, to be more precise, the beta didn't contain by far all map objects.

We have less resources. With resource demands being pretty stable, piles are roughly te same. That means, at this point we have probably less MINES on the map (this will depend, however, on a couple of other things).

We have outside creature dwellings.

We have all kinds of big map objects like Temples and Arenas and so on.
Since there are more stats, there are more permanent stat boosters.

And we have a lot of map objects like the Rally Flag (that give a temporary bonus).

Of course how a map looks depend on the map-maker, and the BA map is a copy of an old map that doesn't make use of many of the new objects.

The map-maker can not invent more creatures (except if he's not modding the game, which is different), add additional resources and fix the bland town interface, for starters. These are huge issues on their own and I hope the game will have other means to keep you interested after several replays.

It's a problem many games face as of lately, they all need mods to come and rescue them, quite annoying if you ask me, feels like we're always getting half a product....

Regardless of everything though, there is no way Im not coping heroes game, even if its a total *fill in the blanks*

The interface has nothing to do with an "empty feel". Except for the customizable buttons on adventure and combat map it plainly sucks in my opinion, but that doesn't make the game empty.
Less kinds of resources make it less colorful, and the map is missing mines - that is compensated by more objects.
And the creatures, yeah, we miss a faction compared with Heroes 5 at this point, but that's not a design feature like the resources that became less, but only a temporary thing.

You shouldn't let yourself fool by the fact that you had a look at this pre-beta

You don't need to start with Pathfinder ... hell, you don't even "need" Pathfinder at all on your main hero.

There is 1 "cheap" spell that is much more mandatory early - and that's the major thing I disliked in the beta. I highly hope they addressed that as a main priority !

See? I guess it's a matter of opinion.

No matter if you like the interface or not, the interface designer at black hole, whatever he is getting on his paycheck it's too much.

It's boxes with some opacity and rounded corners for crying out loud.

Main hero? As if you can have 8 heroes day 1
Logistics, in any form, will always be useful for any hero. So it's ridiculous to start with something else unless you see very strong block near your castle.

The interface has everything to do with a feeling of wasting time with useless clicking, not finding what you look for, and looking at BLAND windows that make you think of the Dos-Window.
If that's supposed to mean "empty", we speak a different language.

You may delegate the picking-up to another hero - in that case Pathfinder I isn't useful, but wasteful.

Not just picking! Your main hero collects chests as well (experience seems more useful than gold at least until lvl5) and visits various buildings. And you always see wood/ore/blood crystal piles nearby.

By "empty" I mean that it's boring to look at, there is nothing there worth looking at, it's like a excell program.

So we both agree on that part, and yes it's suprisingly hard to find what you're looking for in such a stripped interface.

Depends on the difficulty you play and how much stuff is on map. Pathfinder I saves MPs, but Economy gives you more of everything IF you pick stuff.
I'm quite satisfied that Logistics isn't such a close-your-eyes-and-pick-it thing as before.
Since you can hire an additional hero, you will have certainly more viable options than equipping your main hero with pathfinding.
Which is fine.

What I hear most people did was just hire a 2nd hero and slapped Pathfinding I on them as their ability to collect treasure and such.  For their main hero they learned whatever they wanted.  Don't know how viable this will be in the long run.

When you have two heroes only, you're forced to fight for resources with the hero who possesses better skills while your secondary hero is a scout usually. So it's wise to pick up a reward by the hero who has defeated guards, especially when he has Pathfinder I.

I dunno, I find pathfinder I pretty damn handy for a main. No movement cost for visiting towns, locations and picking up stuff can speed up your play a lot save for really poor maps.

You should see what happens in H5 when one player picks logistics and the other doesn't.
