I don't see the resemblence of Archangels to any anime reference. To me, they don't seem to stray far from the typical angel design.

Was referring to the general principles Ridiculously huge weapon. Effeminate. Overcompensating in general.

At least Guts is as awesome as he looks and far from effeminate

But I thought the point of H5 angels was to look genderless so thats why it was a bishishonen

Don't make me start... o wait, now you make me start:

I like the Heroes 6 style better compares to Heroes 5 art style. Don't get me wrong, many of the Heroes 5 features are interesting but art direction is not one of them, at least for me. The only "art" that is superior to Heroes 6 is the town screen.... Ok, I'm done

tbh I think I actually liked the H5 art direction more

Sure, Skeletons and Peasants were ridiculous but if you look the creatures in HoF and TotE they still had "serious" visuals while keeping the "comic" style.
Even the Goblins did not look silly.

In H6, everything looks much smaller than in H5 too and I liked the enormous, flashing H5 spell effects much better.
For instance, I just hope that the Magic Hero attack is a placeholder for now...

Likening Cloud to an Archangel might be stretching the reference a little too far

Angels are traditionally depicted as genderless or often as women, so I don't think the 'effeminate' inspiration comes from anime.

Only the hilt of the Archangel weapon is very big which is quite different from the Buster Sword design that emphasises the enormous size of the blade. I'd say the reference is medieval, being more comparable to a claymore or greatsword which were big for their wielders. Archangels are also big so I think the weapon size is still fairly proportionate. Not any less proportionate than say, a Squire and his weapon.

I think this is more accurate:

We've had this discussion too many times already.
For the record - all Heroes V and VI Angels/Archangels/Wannabe-Angels look ridiculous, period.

Indeed, it looks like some stupid steam cloud and it's the same for every Magic hero type, no matter that their damage sources are different. I kind of miss the Heroes IV Sorcerer who threw and kicked his energy bolt at the enemy like a football.

Just compare the H3 (Arch)Angel to the H5 one and the anime likeness becomes clear...
Regardless, I think H6 "angels" are good, as opposed to H5 ones.

New Angel design from the Facebook page. I think it's an improvement.

I finally gathered all 4 moon fragments, nicely forming a major artifact. That says it gives me the power to summon a phoenix.

I notice no effect of this. Not in combat abilities, or non-combat abilities. Bug?

Also, the pain mirror thng that spring spirits are supposed to have doesn't work. Not the pain mirror o the "also recives positive effects" thing. The I used it on my kenshins, and the only thing I noticed during the battle was that the animation for regeneration (which I used on Kenshin) played on spring spirits too. It even said "healed for 0 damage"...

Also, IMO, eye of the storm is a waaay too powerful ability. I know it's high-tier but really easy to get with the current reputation system.  Evade next (5 when I got it, 6 now) attacks with no cooldown... I just used a single Sacred Kirin stack and killed everything without him even being hurt.

Okay, sure, but it needs to be said:

That plunger is stupidly large and needs to be better proportioned before I will accept it as Haven's champion unit.

Pain Mirror works. Your unit takes damage when they do melee attack on her. If a praetorian is adjacent, he will take damage too

Pain Mirror, Backlash and such work, but it's only a fast floating number (usually in red/orange-ish color) that is applied at the same time your melee hits the creature (as Kitten said).

As for the Spring Spirits regenerating for 0, well, obviously if they have taken no damage, they would regen for 0 Regeneration is a spell that pulses at every action of your creature, even if there's nothing to heal.

That brings another bug which was already noted earlier : Spells that pulse every turn (Regeneration, Agony) are triggered by good morale and not by bad morale. If a unit has good morale, such a spell will "act" twice during that turn and decrease the timer. If a unit has bad moral, it will skip its turn and such spells will also skip their effect during that turn.

Is it true that heroes in H6 can travel without creatures like H4?

Yes - but they can't fight; so if you've got an "empty" hero, and an enemy hero attacks him, he loses by default.

Yes.

And if you attack such an enemy hero which no troops, you're in risk of experiencing one of the most terrible of bugs in the beta.
Defeating troop-less heroes might result in AI's that never finish their turns when they play.

Hmm I haven't checked if that bug still exist, with the new patch and all... :/

okay so the next question will be, what's the advantage of heroes traveling without creatures? will they benefit some misc skills like stealth in H4?
