New moderator for the tavern!@
Ok people …. there is a new mod in town.
Another moderator for the tavern will soon follow ….
I will not spoil the surprise .. perhaps she/he wants to introduce her/him-self
We will be busy cleaning up the tavern in order to:
* increase the speed of HC;
* get rid of redundant threads and posts;
* and make the tavern generally a more surveyable place.
There are 719 threads and 23374 posts.
The general goal is to half this number.
You all know the drill.
Some people will find a drop in there postcount.
If u think some threads/posts deserve QP (also the older ones) please let us know.

Wait Hexa,
I think cleaning is a good thing...
but some of the older members will drop in post status
and this status is necesarry for the rest of the members.
Seeng the status the new members will see at sight who is most familiar with HC and so on.
Diminishing the post count makes completely useless the yellow stars status. Because you will censor the posts which "you think" are useless and this is indicated by the red star status.
I am not a regular poster and I could easily go without any titles. But these stars are indicators and we are used to them.
I suggest you to leave the postcounts untouched and then delete the posts
Another suggestion..make an archives of the older posts. Or a new database called "Archives" where all the dead, old and locked posts go. If you are out of server space for them you could move them to a free server or something.

I was exaggerating when I said half of the post/threads of course.
The drop in post counts however is inevitable….
HC will get slower and slower if we just, keep adding more threads/posts.
And the tavern will get more crowded when H4 hits the shelves…..so HC must be ready/clean …!
As for deleting threads/posts that are I think are useless”, well u will just have to trust my judgement on that.
I don’t think people will find it that hard to accept that the 1,090,273 thread Hi I’m new here! will be deleted huh?@

As I said - go delete all the posts, but leave the post count - this is possible.
Also you are right that after Homm4 there will be lots of more posts. But the "history" is an interesting thing. And old posts are the history of HC. The posts even without meaning have their history value. This will make HC even more valuable as a future HOMM4,5,6 etc. community. My advice is (only a friendly advice) to preserve the deleted posts in some way - ZIP format, or on an FTP server or etc. You could think of something, I am sure.
You could talk to Val about this?

Somebody once told me I only posted to gain postcounts... LOL! GO AND DELETE THEM HEXA!  I'm right behind you.

Perhaps there are more members that are interested in reading OLD threads with little real meaning in them!

...well, I know you're kidding, but that's impossible. After spending long late night weekends indulged in reading the archives, I must say that there is no way to even come close to halving the number unless you're willing to get rid of many good posts, for I've looked through at least the last 20 or so pages in here, and there are probably only a few stray threads left amongst them that I personally consider delete material...and actually I was thinking that I would go through them again for another round sometime this week, but since obviously someone else wants to do it, then please by all means

Well RMS ... we should talk about this some more I think...
BTW I deleted some 40 threads in the last hour and there are many more that can be tossed away or integrated.
Perhaps some-one that has enough time can help here.
There are lots of threads that deal with stuff like:
* Where do u live
* What’s you fav. car/pet/hommversion/etc etc
These could be integrated in to one big post …
Any-one up for the job?@

The new moderator is coming... Here I am!
I will do all of these things:
1-remove Lord_Woock's Promising status
2-delete all of Incubus's posts
3-give Malkia a quality point for his post in my thread "Mystery"
4-make the changes that I talked about in Djive's thread about improvements of the Heroes Community (the moderators can't do that but I will anyway)
5-make a civil war in the community and be elected as an administrator!!!
6-...wake up

I have an idea that's so crazy it might just work...
Well as we all know Valery is now concered with other things(Not that there is anything wrong with that) but this leaves the job of the Administrator not complete. As we know Valery is working on different things which take up lots of time. We need someone to take his place until he can become unce agian active in HC. So I say we should have a sort of Vice-Administrator who would have less power that Valery and more that the mods. This would be a spot which WE memebers of HC would pick(vote ofcourse) and have it approved by Valery. But this person has to be someone who's is on HC everyday and know of all things happening, someone respected. Well tell me if u like this idea...
