Great pictures Dukey  I liked everything apart from the slug lol.
We used to have lots of Praying Mantis when I lived in Australia, they are quite beautiful.

Thanks everyone so much!
Mantises are one of my favourite critters I used to breed them... But that was almost 6 years ago when I released my last breeded batch of little mantis nymphs... Those little cute critters
About the hymenopteras... The Bombus has sting but really peacefull and cute, never attacks or I, at least, never attacked by them. The bee with the red abdomen has sting to but I'm not sure it was a female specimen, so...... The most dangerous was the Scolia from all of them. Scolia hirta have a great, nasty sting and opposed with common wasps and yellow-jackets and hornets they are quite agressive! They sting really painfully

That slug was a real surprise as this specie is rare in the Carpathian-basin and often mistaken by the spanish-slug (Arion vulgares, which is commonly misidentified as portugese-slug, Arion lusitanicus). But if you want I promise you to never post a slug again! Everything for you, my dear!

Haha you post all the pictures you want Dukey, I love them all. I just don't like slugs, they're just so icky ... bleh. But pictures of them are fine - I just hate them in the garden lol, they destroy everything!!

Well, my 11 month old was being a real pain (because of teeth coming in) at 3AM one morning recently and I brought him outside (somehow being outdoors calms them down) and saw a huge dragonfly hanging upside down from the porch ceiling.
Couldn't get my camera, hands were too full of something else I couldn't put down =)
It would have been an interesting picture though. Too bad.

I really love your pics Duke, personally I hate Bugs and various insectoids with a passion.
However when it comes to pictures and nature films I adore them completely.
They're so goddamn fascinating. 
Though I do love dragonflies....

I don't mind swans, but yes they are aggressive sons of b**ches!!! When I was much younger, myself and my brother were attacked by a angry swan lmao (it sounds so hysterical). My brother was only about 5 (making me about 8) and I had to hit the damn thing several times before it left us alone. I had massive black bruises all up my thighs for weeks because of that bird!!

Sorry but my experience show it different. I agree with Meroe as I have same experiences about these beautyfull but agressive birds.
But I heard they tastes rather good...

You think those wasps are bad, go to Australia, they are some of the worst...not that I dislike them or anything.  Oh, and they're huge.
