Hmm.. well I'm pretty much on-board with all of Xeno's suggestions, particularly the hellhounds and all inferno elites.
After a while I stopped investing in them and just focussed all my money on Lilim, Demented and Pit Lords, because all the other creatures were mostly wastes of space when I could replace them with additional smaller stacks of Lilim, Demented and Pit Lords.
Hounds I only kept around so I could abuse their size when gating to create blocking obstacles.
Edit: Also, reputation is utterly broken and needs a fix, the rate at which it is gathered makes it more then just extremely likely the match is already functionally over before a hero has his reputation.

I was actually wondering about breeders, they have that ability that makes their stack grow bigger at the beginning of the battle. so, if some of them got killed, is it like losing summoned creatures, or you really lose them at the end of the battle + all those who were summoned?
Quote: If anything, I'd buff those factions that can't heal with a proper healing method (for example dreamwalkers).
yeah, way to make all the factions identical. they are others ways to have a good creeping. destructive magic, mind control or invocation of creatures for example.

Mother breeders get 20% reinforcements for free. But you cannot heal em back up. So they are like free 20% HP and damage bonus at the start of each battle.
Also looseing reinforcements does not matter as long as you win the battle.

It sure would be nice for a Ubi representative to post here once in a while so we're sure they at least read some opinions. I really feel they don't spend much time on this forum. After all, it does say on Steam they're making this game with the help of the community.

Ehm, I believe they read what you send directly to them. Browsing forums during beta tetsing would be quite ridiculous, don't you think?

What I hope for is that these discussions will be "conducted" by the insiders to Ubihole. There is absolutely no way to read the hell hole that is the official forum and I doubt that they will bother with something else. So - Elvin, Cepheus can this be done?
P.S. And I hope for greater activity too, so far it's just a few of us giving opinions.

I'd recommend writing down the feedback on their forum anyway.

I just found a bug, it seems that Archery II benefits your hero as well. Or at least I think it does.
And since nothing can ever break the hero's ranged attack there is nothing stopping him from over the course of long battle building up some insane damage.
Dunno if this works for 'melee' heroes...

There are no "melee" heroes. Despite some heroes uses its sword to attack, the icon you see is always an arrow and is always ranged. That's why Archery II is amazing and a must have, for me anyway

Play on Hard with Fastest Leveling and it's pretty funny to hit level 5 by day one! Who needs healers then? Just kill everything with Archery II + Pressing Strike or whatever it is called.
The damage gets hilarious after the 3rd or so hit.

The hero shouldn't be able to benefit from Archery II, his chain can't be broken so it's probably and oversight or a bug (and why would anyone need direct-damage spells in such case?).
As for 5 levels in day 1 - that's equally stupid.

Agreed! But that's only possible on fastest (which is a bit too fast) rushing directly into the experience shrine.
Also you know what's the funny part about the whole archery II + hero interaction? When you use it in combat the kills per shot calculation is often wrong after the 3rd or so hit. It'll say you will kill 9 core 1 units when in actuality it butchers like 15-18.
Also the hero , I believe correct me if I am wrong, can critical hit with luck. So, I guess in this beta you can make a hero that is solely built around increasing his or her attack! Heroic strike spec!

Even on slower level-up setting it is broken because it makes all kinds of direct-damage spells/skills unnecessary. Have you seen what Fireball or Blizzard do? These are tier 2 spells and with level 5 hero they can't kill more than a few Cores + have 3 turns of cooldown.

Another possibility to balance healing and not healing factions is to adapt the AI in combat. Make the AI try to spread damage and kill units if possible (sometimes it can overkill a champion unit for ex but selects another target to deal more damage). So the player who comes with 3 core units has to heal them all. When AI is clearly losing the fight and damaged some units, don't make him select the lowest threat but suicide on the highest instead so the casualties cannot be recovered by the player. This will add more effort to healing factions...There is always a way to overcome the difficulty but the player will have to be creative and it's only a plus to other types of balancing mentioned elsewhere . Maybe make the AI flee in combat too, you still have the option to kill or leave then but it will be outside combat so no loss recovery here .

Hero battle healing is less of an issue, weakness to light can be adjusted. The problem is before we get to this point..

So after some further testing I'm 99% convinced that Necropolis is broken. Their racial skill is a free of charge resurrection, their creatures are durable, relatively numerous and immune to quite a few nasty effects. Apart from the Ghouls and the Liches none of them deals incredibly high damage but killing them is even harder than breaking the Haven turtle with all the healing, Praetorian defense, Guardian Angel and whatnot. I guess it's a tradition to have a screamingly imbalanced Necropolis with every Heroes installment... Get it fixed please!

Not to mention that the racial gauge automatically fills during combat (whenever some of their own forces take damage) as opposed to some of the others, that require secondary effects to happen (morale or luck triggering - which can even be impossible in some weeks!).
