Both creature defs and NPC's are available on wogarchives, just downloaded them myself, replaced not 3D graphics in Atlantis with 3D ones for ERA 2 conversion. The lod is no more available but I will pack them in a .pac format soon, I lack time right now.

NPC's are here: LINK

@Donald12345, this is not a mod, just database for experienced modders.

Oh sorry so 300 pack was actually NPC pack? So I managed to get it before. But still the huge lod/pac file is missing, so I'm happy that you already stated that you reupload it when you have time.

The lod has 1500 new map objects, you don't need it for creatures database. All creatures with portrais/defs/msk/msg are in the 160 defs pack.

Okay I understand. Still I want to have them, either just to collect or make them useful objects for my future wogify scripts (I intend all my mods to work without the need to have special map to use them - some will be ERA mods, some ERM Wogify scripts, perhaps even some ERA plugins). Any DEF files yet availible to reuse as-is is much appreciated from my side since I'm not an good graphician, and I doubt it would be effortles for me to rip/recolor something to get an effect I may want. So if I would have hundreds/thousands of already done DEFs - I'll just have to choose ones I like best.

Could you find anything marvelous for 2nd upgrade of air elemental (not a recolored unit, may be a rip, looking more human than air elemental, have Air theme) ? Because I had hard time for seeking anything that would match (for earth/fire I'll use ones from Acid Dragon, for Water I decided to use one named "Water Crystal Demon" from some DEFpack). Also if you find something more interesting than Acid Dragon graphics for the two elementals I would be happy too. (I may fix DEFs for having shooting and casting animation, but I need something as a base, because I'm not an artist - and I need Uber-Elementals for all 4 Elements for my tiny mod in production).

That's the joy of modding: spend weeks to find a monster. First you have to download 10-15 games, then search long days for graphics extraction tools (and deal with viruses), then browse every monster (usually in nif files), search for textures, eventually convert them into png, then finally import the files in 3DS max and start the rip.

Once is ready, you have to browse hundred of wav files and find the 5 action sounds required.

So, to find the monster you need, several weeks of work are required. Or big luck if it is in the first game you download.

This Reminds me I have "Onimusha 3 PC" on my Hard drive... perhaps I should try to rip main characters from it? And how to properly rip units which are ingame assembled from base and items? (the apperance of character changes after each equip in original game - which wishes troubles in ripping). Anyway could you provide any good ripping manuals?

For game using Gamebryo engine you have a detailed guide HERE

For other games, it depends if there is 3DS script allowing to convert the graphics to obj or other, before downloading search for "mods" first and see if any.

There is no problem ripping creatures whose items change in the game, those items are always specific parts, just select them when import the model in 3DS. Sometimes is harder, because you have to bring all body parts separately then stick together, but is doable. Oblivion is that way. The first ripped creature is in general long until you get comfortable with 3DS, but once done, it goes much faster. For graphic effects you will still have to use Photoshop, after rendering.

I never thought that merely ripping DEFs from already ready models and animations are so hard. Honours for people ripped the 160 ones.

@Gruziak97,

I am the only "ripper" of all defs from this thread. You don't need to specify in credits or whatever, as those defs are not mine anyway, I mostly did them for my personal use, then shared when no more interested.

Salamandre, are you really only one for 160 creatures and thousands of static (adventure map) ones? Respect!

BTW Salamandre, can I ask you to rip some specified objects from some specified game? Or you rather have no time nor intrest in doing so?

If you still not ended this way I'd like to have Atronachs from TES4Oblivion (those creatures similair to H3 Elementars). If they won't go to some mod they always can be graphic replacement for Elementar Messzengers (Original WoG 3.58f's ones are really crappy on graphic side - the only ones I urge to replace).

@Salamandre
So you think that I musn't write who is author of defs used in my mod and it's ok? It's sometimes difficult to find out who mades def wich I want to use. I don't know what should I do, so I asked.

For the defs in this thread, you don't need, just use them.

Salamandre, first off let me say that i am a huge fan of your work. i love HOMM3 WOG, and everyone who is creating more for it. i am a newbie at adding things/modding things. i have read again and again how people wish they had time to create all kinds of things for their game experience. well, i have nothing BUT time. unfortunately, i don't have the know-how. what i want to do, currently, is add creatures from heroes 1 and 2 into heroes3 WOG.

if anyone has already done so, and can provide a link, great. if not, then if anyone knows how? i have read that heroes 2 does not use .def files for their creatures. i have both heroes 1 and heroes 2, so getting what i need is no problem, i just need to know where to look and how to convert, etc. i have read all the info i could from the how-to's, and i still cannot find the info i need to pull and convert heroes 2 creatures into heroes 3.

in return for any help i get, i would like to help others with what they need. i do not have a job, and all i have is time. thanks, everyone.
