Book Reviews
I don't know does this really relate to issues which should talk about in here but I think many members like reading good books so I thought thread that could introduce us some books to read would be nice.
Purpose is not to tell what books are your favourite but tell what you liked/hated about some book and what made you interested about that particular book or book series.
I came with this idea because of pretty selfish reasons...
I was walking in library and was trying to find something worth to read. I have failed to start some books recently which is pretty new to me as I usually read almost everything quickly from start to finish.
Right now I'm reading wheel of time series and I must say that I'm getting bored with it like I have with it before. The most important sign was that after I have finished the book I couldn't remember the name of book in the next day and many of the events of the book were just blur in my mind. Milena must have some nice comment how she sees Wheel of Time series. I think in overall it's quite boring series. Some characters are interesting but some are just plain dull. (This is quite true with others books too)
I advice not to tell the all the plot here as it might destroy someone's reading experience but more like overall view how you see the book.
Also...about fantasybooks...
I have kind of started to feel extremely tired of all the cliches of the books. Usually there is some boy who must come a man through certain issues and in the end must fulfill some stupid prochecy....
Don't they have any other ideas?
(And for Thunder I can say that I haven't even got my hands into that Assassin's bookseries. It seems someone is keeping those library books in some storage or something. Or at least the first part of the series.)
I might add some review myself later...

Hm...
I find WOT rather dinamic and unexpected but that's my point of view. I admire its complexity.
If you want a good book, I just have the right answer for you. Once they asked me if there was a book that changed my life... and I said yes. Its name is "Ender's Game" by orson Scott Card. This is the most profoud and unexpecting thing I have ever read. The sequel "Speaker for the Dead" is just as good. It made me a human. It made me understand other people. The style is science fiction but if you look closer, you will know it's not about the aliens. It's not about the High Tech. It's about us. ABout human beings.

Well it's either Lord of The Rings or Germans into Nazis.
Lord of the Rings, is well Lord of The Rings. It's a great and marvelous book and is one of the best ever. This is something that you jsut can't respect, i think.
Germans into Nazis is a book of the Tranzition of the German people from the revolution into the nazi rule. Very good and i recomend it for people who are interested in wwII history.

Did you ever read a Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin?
If you want a fantasy book that has a lot of surprizes and doesn't rely upon fantasy cliches this book is for you. Beware, don't get too attached to anyone...

If you want a great book
Try 'Girlfriend in A Coma' by Douglas Coupland (ShadowLord lives near him.. so he could prob get a signed copy LOL). It really makes you think. So.. WOW!!
If you want something funny though, it's pratchett all the way!!!!!

Yeah the WOT series is long and drawn out, but i feel that as a reader, instead of remembering exact events, you remember the feeling behind them and how they affect the world. The same with the characters, you remember who they are not what theyve done, since theyve done so much.
My Fav bookseries is the Deathstalker series, by Simon R Green. They rock! They are a mix of sci fi and fantasy. There are more characters than WOT, but non are boring, all are unique, and all affect there world. None of the main characters are static. And events are interesting, in fact one siege of a town was 100+ pages long, none of them boring! I hate short books so these suit me fine 
In regards to Enders game and the ones following them, Enders game was very different than the other three, the last three were more philosophical while the first was more action. I think the last three were better than the first, but the first is more suited to the casual reader.
the Alvin Maker series by Card as well is a good selection

I have read...
All the books of Pratchett from that library here...
Same goes to Tolkien...
I think I have read also "Ender's game".
I haven't got my hand on to the copy of "Game of Thrones"...
Maybe I should buy it. It's pretty hard to get into the library...

I would suggest you the Macroscope by Pierce Anthony. It's from the sixties, but it's a great piece sci-fi. It also makes you think... I suggest the book for all, It has both philosophy and action.
Also the Xanth series, by the same author- a world filled with magic, with the usage of it. A world of calalmbours. But the books (all of them) are also about men & women relationships.

Want a reallt good book series?
Now first these books are fantasy! But they are not oh so cliche. I have read about 20 of their books but that would only be about 1/10 of how many i estimate they have.
The 'FORGOTTEN REALMS' series i have found to be extremely good and addictive. Especially the stories about Drizzit Do'Urden written by R.L Salvatoire, these books would be 'Homeland' the hunters blade trilogy book 1 'Thousand Orcs' The 'Icewind Dale' trilogy and many others. If you live in Northern Ireland then visit Belfast and go to 'Forbidden Planet' to collect these tres cool books. If not visit the 'Wizards of the coast' website which will give you some lowdown on the series. I think it is www.wizardsofthecoast.com but just try it on google anyway.
Another good book if you can find it would be 'Across the nightingale floor' which i am reading at the moment. But then of course there is the 'Lord of the rings trilogy'.
Hope you find some reasurrance in these books that says 'Maybe people still have some new ideas up their sleeves'

I'm shocked and appalled!
The WOT series are my fave books ever!
Also good are the Dragonlance books, the Gap series by Steven Donaldson and the
Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin 
Check them out and enjoy!

Aside from the standard favorites that like 99% of people who read books like, my favorites would be The Belgariad (by David Eddings. He made a sequel series to that series and a different series with its own sequel. All in all 4 serieses with various other books too.) and Xanth (that's by Piers Anthony. There are like a million books in the Xanth series, plus another series by him.). Orson Scott Card isn't too bad either. (He wrote Ender's Game and sequels)

Yeah I liked the Belgariad, and the Mallorean - the sequel series.
And I've read about 20 Xanth books, they're out of print and hard to find now.

Żeah, the Belgariad is really good, but I think that the Wheel Of, Time is one of the best book series ever written. It's good. Read it.

Anyone read Amber Chronicles?
Roger Zelazny is one of my great favourites and his Amber Chronicles and also his other books (Lord of Light etc) are great. Amber series has 10 books, first 5 of them are better - so there's something to read.
Also Iain M Banks is great - i especially like his culture-books, favourite is The player of games.

I like the David Eddings books, read most of them. Wheel of Time looks good, but I won't even START reading it until he is done with the dang thing. I am one of these people that tend to read like a madwoman straight through a series and I don't want to be left hanging for a couple of years. We have bought all the books, as my mother has been reading as they go, but I won't read it until it's finito.
I have seen a couple of suggestions on here that I really like the sound of so I might have to do some book shopping soon, hehe (Glasschain will just LOVE you guys for getting me in there, hehe). But I thought I would make a couple of suggestions myself.
"Memory, Sorrow and Thorn" by Tad Williams
"The Dragonbone Chair"
"Stone of Farewell"
"To Green Angel Tower Part 1 & 2"
"Aurian", "Harp of Winds" and "Sword of Flame" by Maggie Furey ~ Strong female main character so might be more of a good read for the female readers out there. Is also a little more on the fantasy side.
"Dragon Star", "Dragon Prince" and "Exiles" series by Melanie Rawn. All a bit different but interesting. The first two series of 3 each are connected. They are basically two generations of the same "family". The Exiles series is completely different but similar in type to the other two. But she doesn't have all of the books written yet and seems to be taken one heck of a long time between so I begin to doubt if it will get finished.
