Hello Everybody! I love All!
I'm a fan of Hero 3, especially love the mod!(sorry, i don't tell english clear!)

Today, i really want to ask everyone:

First: How to change picture of the monter?
Ex as:
I know obout change def file, (monter in battle, in bitmap) But don't know change picture

2: What is file .Msg, .msk? I always see it in each def file to change monter i download!
 How to use and make this file type? The use of it?

I hope to get help from people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Many!!!!!

TWCRPORT.def, extract all pics, change the one you need, pack them again.

DefExplode DefPath X.

Edit necessary pcx (actually bmp, but renamed) in X folder.
DefJoin X NewDefPath.

Bat-files can speed up the process to one click.

Ohhh Yeahhhhh! HA HA HA! In the end, I had known to do it! Very easy and very simple!
Just change picture in TWCRPORT.def and CPRSMALL.DEF with DEFTood.exe.
SALAMANDRE answer but i don't know, he said a summary!
But anyway, i thanks everyone!

MSK and MSG-file are 256x192 (in 32x32 blocks) bit-masks for objects in map. You can produce them by H3DefTools.
Sounds? He-he, how sounds could be packed in 14 bytes?

No, MSK and MSG-files are binary files. Don't open and edit it, you not really need it. And it is for object in map only!
This files produced by H3DefTool when you make DEFs. Check "Make MSG and MSK files" when it is possible. If this option is absent, current DEF isn't need MSK and MSG files.

Really, you should forget about editing these files.

Sorry, i have a problem and i was make many ways to post a new topic, but failed. Apologize for the inconvenience!

And this is problem: I have install a def file:[url=http://www.mediafire.com/?e6ajhj6mjldei7d]ZM151Z.def[/url]

I tried to install it with ''wog'' file and ''H3sprite.exe'', but are not!
Here are the errors:

Wog file, after install I'm trying to open H3wog.exe but do not be! And I open H3WMAPED.EXE, a error appear:


And then, I install it with H3sprite.exe => This error:

I use MMArchive.exe to open H3sprite.lod, and I saw:


Trying with DEFka.exe:

Seems that you messed up somewhere - I hope you saved a backup of your .lod, otherwise you need to reinstall.

You asked the same thing in two different threads, and my answer is in the other. Get rid of the spaces in the game path and retry!

Copy your game to D:\Heroes first.
