"AH SH*T!" yelled Ghoul as he quickly found cover before Kane's bullets could find him. Half the guards were dead and the other half were rushing in with their knives and guns. Ghoul popped our of cover and tried to aim it at Kane, but he moved to fast for him to get a clear shot. Soon enough, all the other guards were either dead or incapacitated. It was only Ghoul and Kane...or so they thought...
"Jesus, mate! What the hell do ye want?" yelled out Ghoul, realizing that he may not be able to fight his way out of this one.
"Will do." replied Inferno. "Which way is it?"

Kane walked slowly toward Ghoul, putting one of his guns back into its holster. He gave the other a cold smile, taking off his sunglasses so that the other could see his ruined eyes. "I want to clean this city." he answered chuckling. "Clean this city from thrash like you."
Kane pointed the gun at the other man. "Want to do this with or without weapons? Something tells me you are stronger than the rest of them, it's been quite awhile since I killed another super. I want to do this proper."

"Look here, I'm just doing what I do best, and that's fight. There in't any supers allowed in the military and forget the police. I'm sorry I'm not your shining paragon of righteousness, but you either throw yourself in with some lot or you become a splat on the road." replied Ghoul as he stood up and threw his weapon down. "You a better shot that me, it seems, and you look like you know how to use those fists of yours. I'm probably going to end up dead, but I'd rather die from the belly than the back."
Ghoul raised his fists up in a kickboxer's stance, getting ready for whatever flurry of attacks Kane was going to inflict upon him...but they never came. His head exploded in a mess of blood, brains, and bone. It was clear that he was killed by a sniper.

Kane threw himself full force through the closest wall, throwing out his senses to see if he could feel the attacker. No one nearby, the shooter would have to be some far off. He clenched his jaw, what a cheap way to kill someone. Sniping. He didn't know what damage a modern sniper rifle could do to him and did not wish to find out either. The safest way back would be in a straight line where the sniper could not hit him. Through the walls of warehouses. He braced himself and let his first in the forehead close up before crashing through the wall in the opposite direction of the shooter. He chose the most direct route, straight forward. Then suddenly he stopped. He felt something he hadn't expected.

Melony skidded to a stop in front of Kane. "Damn it all, Jack Kane! All this time I've been away, and still causing trouble wherever you go!" She marched towards Kane, looking a bit mad, "And under what rock have you been hiding! For the last few years I've been looking for you, I thought you were dead! Why didn't you try to find me?

Kane clenched his jaw. Not now, girl! he thought. "We'll talk somewhere else, there's a sniper somewhere and I have no idea where that person is."
Without another word Kane flung Melony over one shoulder and started running again, ignoring Melonys struggling and complaining, past the two parked cars he had passed earlier and back to Melonys cab. He sat down in the drivers seat and got the car running by growling Drive at the cab driver.
He looked back at Melony. "Good to... see you." he said. "And this time I am not causing trouble, I am putting it out. I was taking down some criminals by the docks when a sniper blew the head off of another super I was going to fight."
He frowned. "What else was it you wanted to know, I forgot during all the running and saving you again and stuff."

Melony patted the cab driver's seat, "there's someone we have to pick up on the left, please turn." Since Rob had apparently decided to come with, she wasn't about to leave him behind.
"Well Jack, I'm perfectly capable of handling myself. Now, I was just wondering where you had been hiding for all these-" Suddenly, Melony lost her will to nag and berate Kane and instead hugged him around the neck, "Oh Jack, I've been so worried about you."
-Dear God woman, save it for a better time! Sniper remember? ... Melony? Stop ignoring me... It's happening again, isn't it?- Miasma continued to be ignored. -... Melony?- Miasma hrumphed and sulked in the back of her mind.

Kane hugged her back, though not as enthusiastic as she was. "I felt it was best to keep my distance, to stay away from everyone because I didn't want to bring more pain into their lives. I have been leading a personal vendetta against the criminals in this town, and I have the feeling there is a war coming. If I was to take a part in it I wouldn't want to drag you with me down."

"Well, you should have let me decide if it was worth the risk." Melony looked up and smiled a little, "I'm a smart girl, Kane." She looked out and, letting go of Kane, told the driver, "There he is. Just pull up and we'll load him in."
"Say Jack, do you have anything in your house that you want to pick up? Any pets or weapons that you can't leave behind?"

Rob was very confused as he got inside the cab. "What? We're going where? The mountains? Are you guys crazy? That's hours away!"
Before anyone could respond, the cab driver let out a gasp and his throat made a gurgling sound as blood poured out of his mouth. His head then hit the steering wheel, revealing a bullet hole in his neck. The car then crashed into a nearby abandoned warehouse. The hood of the car burst into flames and it was only a matter of time before it would explode and kill Kane, Melony, and Rob.

Melony wasted no time. Though the taxi was crowded and there was no room to manipulate the shadows without harming someone, the taxi driver was already dead. Shadows from the warehouse and the cab went through the dead man's body, creating a bubble around the hood and temporarily suffocating the fire, buying a few extra precious seconds for Kane to save their lives.

"What the sh*t!?" yelled Rob as he clambered out of the car. As he got out, a bullet ripped into his kneecap, making him fall down and scream in pain.

Kane kicked the door literally off the car, sending it flying through the open space in the warehouse. He then grabbed Melony and pulled her out of the car, throwing her as far away as he could, hoping she wouldn't get hurt. He then ripped the front door off and did the same to Rob, before he started sprinting, hoping he would have time to get clear before the engine would blow.

Kane only just made it in time, although when the car blew, his back was still burnt, but nothing that couldn't be healed in time. Suddenly a can was thrown into the middle of the warehouse. Gas came out of it, blurring Kane's vision and making him cough. It was toxic, and though Kane could still survive through it, he couldn't last long.

Rex could not have asked for better. The chaos down at the docks provided perfect cover for his operation. He had sent a team of droid to take care of some criminals who were muscling in on his territory and wether concious of not the sniper was aiding him well. Rex found it curious that Kane and some girl were present and being shot at, but little else. The boy who was with them however was more interesting. Rex had spotted him before, with Inferno's little club. And this confusion and smokescreen provided the perfect opportunity.
Two droids broke of from the main team and went to the warehouse. Quietly the lifted a door out of it's hinges and snuck in. The droids found the boy soon enough, quivering and in shock. One of them produced a syringe with a heavy tranquilizer and injected the boy with it. It would keep the boy in a near-comatose state for several hours. The droids lifted the limp body up and spirited Rob away before the smokescreen lifted.
Several hours later, when Rob woke up he found himself strapped to a sugery table, in a windowless, Fluorescent lit, tiled room.
