Woted "Not really".
Why?
Point one - neurtal healers use there abilities as soon as posible, whitout calculation
Point two - Even Strong AI heroes automaticly flee  after the batle starts
Point three - The AI does not defende its castles, eventhough the fortification makes a much bigger impect the in prewies games (or atleast i see it this way)
(Demo impresions)

Will add more point later

I voted Mostly Satisfied.

One one hand, aside from using Necro in the Duels, I cannot win so the AI is obviously doing something right. On the other hand, fighting against stacks of healers, it's easy to win because all you have to do is sit back and keep damaging them and they will spend their first 2 turns trying to heal. By the time they come at you, it's almost over.

Mostly satisfied as well. But I think we should evaluate separately the adventure map AI and the combat AI.
The combat AI is very good and usually knows how to use spells and units combos properly and effectively. There are some flaws, yes (the beforementioned healers, some situations during sieges and so on) but overall it's doing fine and can give you a fine challenge.
The adventure map AI is not as great, although it can surprise you as well. It has two major flaws: the non-necesary fleeing and the 'I can and will stand precisely one step beyond your movement range' thing (sooo annoying). Sometimes I've also experienced it throwing lesser heroes at my main when they couldn't really damage it (sometimes they fled and left me with 0 loses even without me healing). Guess it would make sense if they wanted to strip me off my one time bonuses, but the AI lost huge amounts of troops from fleeing.
And there is another thing: The AI acts very much like I do, they travel with one main army and their cities are mostly unprotected. However it just cannot react properly if such an big army is closing on them. Like Dave said, instead of digging themselves in cities and combining armies into one that would stand a chance, they just continue with hit and flee tactics and sometimes even put their main out of the city, even in immediate danger.

I'm mostly satisfied. There are still some obvious bugs (fleeing) but that can be fixed. The combat IA is behaving decently imo.

The only bad points are :
- as I said above, fix the fleeing "bug"
- the AI is abusing the movement points a bit too much for my taste even at low level.

I have no opinion at all, simply because it gave me a challenge despite the bugs. I assume these are bugs ..

1) AI always knows where to end its turns with heroes, so that I can't reach them. It's like the fog of war doesn't affect them and even if the AI uncovered the map how does it know how many movement points I have?

2) MOst of the time the AI doesn't defend itself in siege battles. I always take their castles unprotected. But like I said, despite this, I still found the AI challenging in some cases.

Those are the main beafs I have against the current AI.  But I don't think for me it will be a gamebreaker.

Played game vs AI Hard on multiplayer maps. Two games. In both of them i take AI town. Town empty, no defense, nothing. AI heroes tactics run and hide. Couple of times was kind of HNR. I go with main hero in other location, AI try to steal back his town, but not really smart, i catch him and he run from battle from start of it. But were he run ? On map was no more towns for him. Very disappointed, AI Hard and no challenge at all ... AI Hard - no brain and not even honor. No more towns, at least die like a man, with honor.

Why not more comments?
Aside from some comments here about not defending town & fleeing problems & Quantomas' comments here, there is not much other detail at all said about challenge to human player?
[way AI builds heroes, collects resources, build town/amass army etc]

of course some may be bound to an non-disclosure agreement, but
I haven't played any of this H6 beta thingy and the AI for single player game is of high interest to me...

AFTER all these promises to make things better, can I expect to be more disappointed than I was with H5TotE 3.1 creature numbers-cheating AI with no brain

I was about to make a new thread about this issue, but since I cant make one yet I'l just bump this one.

This must be the worst AI I've ever seen in a heroes game, just finished  Broken Alliance.
Only two of the castles was defended by a hero and one of those heroes didn't have troops. the other had about a 1/10 of my force.

The only time I met a hero that had the power to challenge me he just fled the castle. Next time I see him its a new week and he is down to challenge rating: Lower.

The last hero I killed was on the top corner of the map, he had minimal of troops and was just waiting in the water until his 6 days ran out, tbh I didn't even kill him, just waited for him to take a move on my nearby empty castle.

The aggressive AI: on and off option doesn't seem to do much.
And a cheating AI renders skills like sabotage useless.

For most people Heroes is a singleplayer game, and without a proper AI its a dead game. Black Hole should just hire Quantomas crew to get the AI properly done imo.

Thanks for the post Archheretic...I was a bit disappointed not many in HC raised many points about AI in this thread or other[I think many just thought of combat AI which is not the main issue...]

So I read mainly the Ubi forums which had a LOT more posts about it...they all seem to say same bad things like in some beta comments.

I suppose this happens on all the other maps too? [I don't play H6 atm]

[btw it's not Quantomas "crew", just Quantomas only]
