British To American Dictionary..

I've noiced most people here seem to speak American English not Brit english and therefore probably don't understand me half the time!  So, a glossary of terms:-

Football, Footie = Soccer
TTFN (Ta Ta For Now) = Goodbye
Top = Splendid
On Top = Not Splendid
Well (as in 'Well nice') = Very
BTW = Bye the way
The Full Monty = The Whole Lot
Chumley = Friend
Mate = Friend
Cheeky = Naughty or rude in a sweet or funny way
Likkle = Little
Wee = Little
Ickle = Little
Wicked = Cool
Badly (as in are you badly?) = Sick
Ill = Sick
Poorly = Sick
Minging = Nasty or ugly (usage 'That's minging!'  'She's a minger!')
Right ('he's a right laugh') = Even more so
Syrup = Wig
Bloke = Boy/man
Geezer = Man
Bird = Girl/ woman
Dodgy = not to be trusted
Pikey = Insult
Thick = Dumb (stupid)
Ratted = Very, Very Drunk
Innit = 'Isn't It?' I try not to use that as it's veerrry common!!
Dole = (On) Benefits
Alright = Greeting, hello

I expect most of it's obvious, but just in case you were wondering.... It's quite funny in some respects, anyway..

So... Valiery would be a 'top geezer', and I would be 'well minging!' lol!

Okay:

Apples (& pears)= stairs
Whistle (& flute)= Suit
Dog (& bone)= Phone
Pony (& trap)= Umm.. begins with C, means faeces and has 4 letters!!
Britney (spears)= Beer
Boat (race)= Face

EDIT:
A few more...
Mince (pies) = eyes
Trouble (& strife) = Wife
Plates (of meat) = Feet

So, you can now tell sum1 they are talking 'pony' and break no HC rules!!

I'll try and remember a few more...
