Well, here ya go Wes! Everyone, feel free to add in ur creative creature ideas!

Hmm, well it's been a while, but here's my updated unit roster, as promised.I've also added in certain feature changes to the game. It's still got the same eight structures as I had before but now I'm quite satisfied with the creatures I thought of.

FEATURES:
-flying units float in the air and can only be attacked by either archers, other flying units or fire breathing monsters. However, the Dragon and Bone Dragon are exceptions
-each alignemnt/faith is governed by a monarchy with an intelligent AI. I've provided each town a leader, but it should be customizable... unless if ur playing through Campaign. This way, there can be political negotiations that can be made between two powers and realistic counter strikes. Conversations between rulers can also be made, paying tributes in hope of gaining the opposite person's alliance. (Just think of Master of Magic)
-each town can 'gain' a certain amount of resource per day, AUTOMATICALLY. The type of resource depends on the town of course.
-rebellion in towns can also happen if the people are not happy
-Charisma points determine how much the Ruler is liked by his/her people and the people of the opposition. High charisma is a good way to gain strong alliances. But watch out for people who will backstab u.
-INF is infantrys, RNG is ranged unit, MAG is spell caster, and FLY is flying unit
-I don't believe in TOTAL magic immunity, so I toned the Dragons a bit down
-Heal can also resurrect, but resurrect is a much MORE powerful version of heal. This way heal/cure won't be as useless as it was in the previous HOMM games... with exception to healing level 6/7 units.

(b)Parliament, Order(/b)
Leader: Prince Horus Locher, male human
With the streets clean and taxes always payed, the resource the Parliament naturally gains is gold. They despise everything 'free' and unconventional. However, with strict laws and high taxes put down on people, rebellion is to be expected at a moderate rate. Consists of humans, their gods Titans, and animated objects.
1)Peasant, INF- decreases morale of enemies within a 4 panel range
1)Archer, RNG- no wall/obstacle penalty
2)Magi, MAG- ?
2)Golem, INF- 65% magic resistance
3)Cavalier, INF- First strike, negate first strike
3)Griffin, FLY- unlimited retaliation
4)Colossus, INF- 90% magic resistance
4)Titan, RNG- no melee penalty, Chaos ward

<b>Stronghold, Chaos</b)
Leader: Conceded Gorvack Rutto, male Ogre
The corners of the Stronghold allow no escape of the foul stench constantly reeking the air. Everything conventional is their enemy. The streets are full of sin; murder, theft, prostitution, rape... chaos is amidst this town...No one can be trusted. With the overbearing sense of freedom in the town, this town also is a victim of constant rebellion. The strongolhd receives 1 ore and 1 wood resource per day, as opposed to Preserve receiving 2 wood and Haven receiving 2 ore per day.
1)Rogue, INF- every attack steals gold from enemy
1)Centaur, RNG- decreases morale of any female unit, hates Hinds
2)Werewolf, INF- berserk, attacks twice
2)Medusa, RNG- stone gaze
3)Minotaur, INF- block
3)Ogre Magi, MAG- ?
4)Behemoth, INF- decreases morale of any enemy unit within 4 panel range
4)Dragon, FLY- increases morale of friendly CHAOS units within a 6 panel range, Order ward

(b)Preserve, Earth(/b)
Leader: Queen Sybilles Edenia, female Elf
The luscious forest of the Preserve provide its townspeople with more than enough amounts of wood. The citizens are free to do as they wish... As a result, rebellions are somewhat common. The creatures are mostly frailer than others, but a lot are skilled in the arts of archery.
1)Sprite, FLY/RNG- no retaliation, hates sylphs only six shots
1)Dwarf, INF- 50% magic resistance
2)Elf, RNG- shoots twice, first strike
2)Dendroid, INF- bind
3)Druid, MAG/RNG- only four shots
3)Hind, RNG- shoots twice, hates centaurs
4)Giga, INF- no retaliation, Air Ward
4)Phoenix, FLY- 40% chance Rebirth, fire breath, elemental attack spells ward

(b)Frontier, Air(/b)
Leader: Minister Ptolemy Arcadia, male Genie
The frontier is a place of harsh climate and wide plains, allowing survival only for those who are TRULY strong... or so that's what the Frontierians believe in. Crystals are common in the snowy mines and rebellion is scarce, for the environment is adjusted to its citizens. A lot of their creatures can fly, as their faith implies.
1)Sylph, FLY- charm, hates Sprites
1)Tundra Wolf, INF- attacks twice, negate first strike, hates Hell Hound
2)Pegasi, FLY- increases morale of every friendly AIR unit, first strike
2)Amazon (think of the Legionary Greek Amazons), RNG- does more damage to male troops, shoots twice
3)Genie, MAG/FLY- frost shield, hates Efreet and Djinns
3)Yeti, INF- smash obstacles
4)Thunder Roc, FLY- 40% thunderbolt, lightning barrier
4)Wyvern, FLY- Earth ward, no retaliation

(b)Haven, Life(/b)
Leader: Oracle Aries Hawke, female human
All followers of life must treat every life as sacred. As a result, all mortal beings, with the exception of Crusader, uses non-metallic bladed weapons. Rebellion is almost non-existent and all creatures co-exist with each other peacefully.  They naturally gain Ore and their people consist of anyone willing to devote their life to the Life Force itself.
1)Wisp, FLY- blind
1)Halfling, RNG- giant slayer, increases luck of friendly creatures within a 4 range panel
2)Dryad, MAG- ?
2)White Tiger, INF- sirst strike, negate first strike
3)Crusader, INF- attacks twice, effective against undead, first strike
3)Unicorn, INF- can cast heal 3 times, hates Nightmare, death ward
4)Angel, MAG- aside from having a spell book, can cast ressurect 2 times, hates reapers
4)Valkyrie, FLY/RNG- increases morale of all units in its group, Death ward

(b)Atlantis, Water(/b)
Leader: Lady Serena Bridgewalters, female merfolk
The creatures of the sea have been protective of their homeland ever since 'land-dwellers' started polluting them. They usually take the Neutral side, not involving themselves to 'land' affairs. However, they mostly carry a heavy sense of pride and simply cannot tolerate treachery. The environment of the Atlantis is majestic and so are its creatures, sharing habitats by reptiles and amphibians... Gems, found in pearls, are their common resource.
1)Lizardman, INF- poison 75%
1)Siren, FLY- area attack, hypnotize 65%, hates harpies
2)Merfolk, RNG- sleep harpoons, no melee penalty
2)Walrus, INF- ?
3)Djinn, FLY/RNG/MAG- 35% charm, hates Genies and Efreets
3)Naga, INF- no retaliation, attack twice
4)Dragon Turtle, INF- fire breathing, Mind spell ward
4)Hydra (think of it as coloured blue), INF- fire breathing, Fire ward, area attack, no retaliation

(b)Dessert, Fire(/b)
Leader: Pharaoh Drapses Zosher (LOL, creative name huh?), male Mummy
The units of the dessert live in the scorching desolated 'no men's area'. Every form of life is scarce, and only few of strong instincts can survive. Rebellions are unpredictable, and their common resource is Sulfur. Their creatures lack skilled RNG units, but are strong in their faith and are quick attackers.
1)Nomad, INF- first strike
1)Harpy, FLY- first strike, no retaliation, hates Siren
2)Mummy, MAG- curse touch
2)Hell Hound, INF-first strike, attack twice, hates Tundra Wolf, fire breath
3)Efreet, FLY/RNG- fire shield, hates Djinns and Genies, 4 shots only
3)Sphinx, FLY- increases morale of all troops, first strike
4)Cyclops, RNG- destroy walls/obstacles
4)Sand Wyrm- Water Ward, Blind Immunity, negate first strike

(b)Necropolis, Death(/b)
Leader: Death Queen Jessikah Delburgadonovah, female skeleton/lich
The stench of death fills the unholy place of the necropolis. Little or no form of life is found here. All the creatures are undead, and in being so most consists of no mind. As a result, rebellions are scarce and their primary source is Mercury. The skeleton is their only archer, but they can easily be replaced through the magic of necromancy.
1)Skeleton, RNG- ?
1)Zombie, INF- extra damage to humans and humanoids
2)Ghost, FLY- physical damage resistance
2)Cerberi, INF- fire breathing, area attack, no retaliation
3)Vampire, FLY/MAG- life drain
3)Nightmare, INF- decreases morale of all enemies, life ward, hates Unicorns
4)Reaper, FLY/MAG- death touch, hates angels
4)Bone Dragon, FLY- life ward, ?

Well there ya have it.

Hmm

It looks great. Only one thing really bothers me!
Take out dryad out of the human town!
Dryads are like me! They dislike humans!
They are good creatures.but they dislike humans because they destroy the forests. They love turning humans into animals.

And level 2? Dryads are stronger and SMARTER then any other creatures. so level 4.

There are other things aswel. But I check better next time. I have to many things to search for

My human town is more on the Order side than the Life side. As I've mentioned the Life town, Haven, consist of a diverse set of creatures that share only one ideal- treat everything living as sacred.

Dryads are really strong? Hmm... Mind giving me like links or game infos that treat Dryads as ethereal?

Sorry, I used to play Magic: The Gathering cards and the Dryads in that game are average and not too powerful. (I love the Shanolin Dryads, if I'm not mistaken, their stats were 2/2). The Dryads in Lords of Magic aren't exactly too helpful either. I guess I've grown into perceiving Dryads as average. Anywhoo, that's why I want some sort of evidence in mythology or game reference that Dryads have been 'powerful'.

Hmm

The dryad I love is from Quest for glory.
And i love that movie that I saw on a saterday.
I forgot the name but it was old and ugly. But the dryad was cool.

Dryads are good because they can do powerfull magic and they have the whole flora/forest to fight at their sides. The dryad theirselves aren't good fighters. But their skills are level 4

the best siren idea i have ever seen.. simple and fits them perfectly imho, much better than mermaids with healing song or whatever.

'1)Sprite, FLY/RNG- no retaliation, hates sylphs only six shots'
flying + no retaliation might be very dangerous with the flying units being out of reach for infantry..

no krakens in atlantis? and wouldn't the dragon turtle breathe steam and hydra breathe poison gas?

well, just some of the things that caught the eye while scanning through it.

Thanx!

Trust me, I considered so much including the Kraken... among other sea creatures such as Leviathan or Loch Ness. But if I placed them in a level lower than 4, then it screws up the whole 'large fantastic creature' idea. As u can see, I've prioritized the Dragon Turtle... c'mon, there has to be a fantastic creature to accompany the Lizardman as Reptiles in the water town. So I'm left with one more free spot in the fouth level... and I decided to keep the Hydra since I couldn't put it in any other town, and I wanted to keep as much 'original' characters as much as possible in my roster.

But I guess Kraken could work for a lower level creature. However, I STILL can't figure out how useful it will be in battle. I mean, it's speed must be terribly horrendous in land, y'know wut I mean?

"flying + no retaliation might be very dangerous with the flying units being out of reach for infantry.."

That's what I want to stress here... I'm trying to make every creature as balanced as possible among their peer levels. This way, Sprites won't be as totally useless in the previous HOMM games and can last in battle for a little bit more... I mean, if u have 100 Sprites at the battle's beginning, u'll probably end up with only 25 by the end. Unlike other level 1 creatures such as Centaur or Skeleton. Besides, MY Preserve creatures dominantly contain low HP... I hafta add some barriers to power them up in order to get rid of that unfair disadvantage.

I also don't know why everybody loves Dragonturtles.
I don't even know them good.... Never saw any pics off them

A kraken or a green behemoth AKA Leviathan would be much cooler. You also have Sea Dragons/Sea Serpents tritons/manta/Sea Elves and trolls/ Kelpies and Hippocampus.   and ofcourse scylla

Well... I've never actually confirmed it... but in Master of Magic, Djinns are summoned through Sorcery magic, which is water based. My guess is, Djinns are more water associated with their ice blasts in the game, and Genies are originally more desert associated. Efreets are probably genies from hell.

Anywhoo, what are scyllas and kelpies? Can ya give me a link?

Master of Magic is still one of my fave strategy games of all time, despite its 'old school' features. In it are the Dragon turtles, pets to the Lizardman race and is probably the strongest creature that u can RECRUIT. Of course there are stronger ones that u can summon, but it is definitely the strongest that u can recruit. With its high defense rate and fire breathing, having five of them in battle is lethal.

Hasn't anyone else here played MAster of Magic?

Scylla/Kelpie

Scylla is a female Hydra.
It's from mythology and came in the oddeuses version.
It's a monster with many heads when a boat comes near it's cliffs the Scylla put it's 6 heads outside and eats 6 people from that boat.

The kelpie is a green horse from the swamps/waters.
It has the ability to form illusions. So he can create the illusion of an whole beautifull area but in real your in a dark swamp. or he can make himself look like a Unicorn(but in real it's still the ugly green horse) when the females see this unicorn/Kelpie illusion they want to ride it. When on the back of the kelpie/unicorn illusion the kelpie will jump into a lake and drown the maiden and then eat it.

Only males are immune for it's illusions. Kelpies have green hair and their manes are very ugly dark green with snakes in it and seaplants growing in their manes/tail and feet hair. The kelpie has red eyes and vampire like teeth.

Here comes more info about the djinns.

"Magically powerful. Supernaturally evil. The ancient entity known as the Djinn can grant a person's wildest dreams. And in the process, it unleashes your darkest nightmares. Be careful what you wish for!"

Once in a time before time, God breathed life into the universe.

And the light gave birth to Angels, and the earth gave birth to Man.

And the fire gave birth to the Djinn, creatures condemned to dwell in the void between the worlds.

One who wakes the Djinn shall be given three wishes.

Upon the granting of the third, the unholy legions of the Djinn shall be fred upon the earth.

Hope that I have answerd uīr question Wesley.
And no, the djinns are not water based. (not in my version ) In my version they are fire based.

Fear one thing only in all that is...
Fear the Djinn.

3)Death Knight, INF- Terror/The more he walks the more damage he does/Hate Champion
4)Grim Reaper, FLY/MAG- Death Touch/Hates Angels

If it was me... I would ad the Demon town and the Asylum Town. but okay that's just me.

You people INSULT Black Dragons by even thinking about putting them in the same town as Behemoths!! A Stronghold is place with no knowledge whatsoever of Magic, let alone CHAOS Magic!! And an OGRE leading Dragons?!!

Chaos dragons are also not good for Asylum or any other town.
They are to vain to fight for a town. They want to fight for their own vain reasons. They suck as dragons. They only want more power but they can't because they can't beat titans. (Because even an crusader can beat an dragon like Oldtimer said)
