Well I just finished season 8 (final season) of 24.  While I don't think the writing was a tight in the last few seasons, it was still an excellent show up until the very end.  I'm a little sad it's over, actually.  I've been watching it during workouts, and I'm not sure there's a suitable replacement out there.

I'm into season 4 of Lost and still enjoying it. I can only hope Cor has sucky tastes and that it's still really good into season 6.

Season 4 was alright, but by the time it ended I could feel the faltering.  Season 5 was when it really started to get strange (as if it wasn't already), leading up to the unsatisfying conclusion in season 6.

Don't get me wrong - the show was entertaining until the end.  But the central narrative just fell apart in the last few seasons.  Given all the intriguing mysteries and hints at some unifying purpose to it all, it just became painfully apparent by season 5 that they really didn't know where they were going with any of it.  At that point an unsatisfying conclusion was virtually inevitable.

WAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Game of Thrones season 2 is finally here! First episode was epic, well, as expected.

Just when I was getting depressed with having to wait till Autumn for more Walking Dead goodness.

I didn't like the new GoT episodes. Almost all scenes felt really rushed, like the actors were told that "You guys have 4 minutes 37 seconds to do this scene, make the best out of it, will ya?". I have a bad feeling that this season will go down on the Harry Potter route, where half of the storyline was cut off entirely, and the remaining were totally rushed as well. For comparison, the new edition of Clash of Kings is about ~950 pages and the first two episodes contained approximately 350 of them, there is just too much storylines: Tyrion & King's company, Sansa, Arya on the run, Robb / Stannis / Renly fighting, the Greyjoy plot, Daenerys, Jon and the Night's Watch, Bran, plus the less important characters (Jaqen, Catelyn, Davos etc.) It's just too much to shove into 10 episodes.

It's a shame, since season 1 was very well written.

Halfway through the first season of "Justified", and, well.

Ultra cool.

I'd say, it's a show Tarantino would have sould his soul for to have it written.

I agree. It's been a while, and from memory I actually seemed to like season 4 better than season 3, but by 5 and 6 it started going really off. The ending was just ...

I can only repeat that "Justified" is an absolutely AMAZING show - do yourself a favor in non-English speaking countries and watch it in English. It's just fun. The actors are superb, Olyphant and Goggins most of all, but even small roles are well casted.
Dialogues are among the best I've ever heard in any series - they ooze a dry, laconical wit without being intellectual, and you find yourself in rapt attention just listening to those dialogues.

A real hit.

Got to agree about justified. It's not something you'll watch more than one episode at a time but it is good. And the characters are juicy.

Disappointed at the main characters father, he is too one dimensional.

I liked the first five or six seasons of South Park. Then it became to take itself much too seriously.

My favorite show has to be Seinfeld. I have a friend who watched every episode four or five times and can quote almost every line from memory. George and Kramer were beyond awesome. menage au trois, this pretzels are making me thirsty, the frogger, kramerica industries etc.

I recently started to watch the Dilbert TV series on youtube. Pretty funny, and it is unexpectedly similar to Family Guy.

Most shows will decline with time, because usually the writers put much more thought into the first couple of seasons to sell the idea. Fortunately Dexter has some great writers that have managed to keep the show fresh to this day.

Well I was sick for a few days just watching TV and I happened to check out the first episodes of The Vampire Diaries.

I fricking love vampire series but I had dismissed this one as some sorta Twilight clone, but it's surprisingly decent and it's growing better with each episode.

"What is up this Edward dude? Such a whuss."
"Ya gotta read the first book or it doesn't make sense."
"This book has it all wrong. I miss Anne Rice, she knew where it was at."

I lol'd.
