The last season was 6 episodes instead of 3, yet, I agree it's too short in the sense that we cant get enough of it but how come Twilight Zone is not a TV show in your dictionary? Are you talking about each episode being a closed, independent story? That doesnt make it less of a series.

A collection of short stories is not the same thing as a novel. It has advantages and disadvantages, but I tend to see it NOT as a show (like Stephen King's Creep Show, essentially the same thing), or at least a very different kind of show, because there is no continuing story, and each episode can stand on its own.
There has been many of these, say, Tales of the Unexpected, and I've read comics like that even as a child.

But still, it's a different kind of show.

Well, the difference between Black Mirror and the likes of Twilight Zone, Amazing Stories, Outer Limits etc is the near-future realism instead of mystical suspense, I think. So, it's kind of unique. Although, the last season had an episode closer to Twilight Zone spirit (the one with the artificial haunted mansion), most episodes are very different than that.

I also think the way people behave in Black Mirror is much more realistic compared to something like the 100 or Lucifer, they are closer to comics than BM will ever be.

That's what I said, shows, especially when there is any kind of action involved, tend to have all the earmarks of a comic nowadays.
BM is a different kind of beast.

A SciFi show that I'm well into the 2nd season with and so far like is Continuum (although, since it has to do with time travel, there is more than enough rope for them to hang themselves with - the show is done and finished already).

Watched the whole (4 episodes wow!) first season of Netflix's Castlevania TV series. It was great! Finally a good video game adaption, even though it's fully animated.

It's dark, bloody and climatic but aside from that it does appear to have a sensible story (for a series about killing hellish monsters at least) and it looks to be close to the source material (even adding some easter eggs here and there). It might not be the pinnacle of animation but it's good enough, and although Anime inspirations are all over the place, this is a rare case of Western adult fantasy animation series done right. There wasn't a lot of castle crawling this time around (there were some catacomb explorations though), but it does seem like a great prolouge to the actual castle conquering, showcasing the setting, characters and even the motivation behind Dracula himself.

Next 8 episode season was announced so one can only wait for more

Netflix should be tried for cruelty towards subscribers for releasing 4 episodes of Castlevania. I am so ready for more!

I also gave Castlevania a watch and am very much looking forward to season two  I never played those games but it reminded me of Diablo 1 with the catacombs under the church and he'll creatures. Very cool show and not in any way shape or form is it for kids. Finally a good video game adaption

Not a show but I am anticipating the Death Note film with William Defoe playing the Death God. Looks dope!

So the 13th Doctor is a woman. I'm not convinced it's gonna work out. As I see it, there's 2 red flags:

Showrunner Chris Chibnail has gone on record saying the 13th Doctor was always going to be a woman. So she was conceived of as a 'woman Doctor' and not as 'The Doctor, who happens to be female this time around' This means

This past season, we had Bill as a companion, whose defining character traits were 'black lesbian' There was not a single episode where this wasn't pushed to the forefront, for the sole purpose of reminding the viewers of this. I strongly felt that Bill was a token gesture to placate the masses and cultivate the image of an inclusive, diverse show, and now I feel the same about casting a woman in the lead role just because it's a woman. I expect stereotypical running gags and clichéd, femininized plotlines, while the press will inevitably laud the show for being the pinnacle of feminism.

The only hope I have is how exceptionally well Michelle Gomez's casting as Missy turned out to be. I'm not saying a female Doctor is inherently a bad decision, nor that Whitaker can't be a splendid Doctor, but that given the show's record of attempting to deal with minorities, I'm not looking forward to seeing what the writers will make of Whitaker's incarnation

Game of Thrones is back. First episode of Season 7 just premiered.

After the initial bomb in the first scene, very satysfying I might add, the episode went a bit slower afterwards. It was interesting, but in the storytelling, not 'epic events' kind of way. Guess we'll have to wait a few more episodes for some big action. This season is shaping up to be full of battles, but from what I know it's not final, so not everything will be laid out before the watchers I guess.

I think it was a solid episode for a season opener, I wasnt expecting big battles or anything like that. However, the problem with Game of Thrones is, for a series with so many characters and sub-plots, the breaks are too long. I have trouble remembering where things left off. People who will watch all seasons at once in the future will have a much better experience.

Oh yes, it is almost like watching a movie each episode. Especially the one where the woman loses her boyfriend and gets the AI copy of him. So darn well written episode.

Don't remember if I already mentioned this but the show Preacher is epic fun with lots of gore. Based on a comic-book, it centers around a possessed minister, his ex, and an hard-drinking Irish vampire... Can totally recommend
