You cannot be right because you claim that something that may or may not be true for you subjectively is universally true.

It doesn't actually matter what you claim, when you do it in that way you are wrong by default.

And I'm not going to discuss this further - there IS no discussion here.

The fact that you not only let the networks and their broadcasting schedules dictate your watching habits, but actually welcome this bondage as "making things suspenseful" seems to have a detrimental effect on your sense of reality. Your judgement is obviously clouded and totally self-centered.

You should get a grip on yourself and try to realize that it's the show and its contents that matters, not its slot in the network schedule or the length and regularity of the intervals between broadcasts.

This is true for cliffhangers as well. When the show has enough quality, a cliffhanger is not necessary, neither between episodes nor between seasons. On the contrary, cliffhangers are tiring the audience, because the more you get, the duller you become, so each one must be more breath-taking. If the show is generally not good, a cliffhanger won't have any effect (or at least not for long). If it's good, the cliffhanger isn't necessary at all. It's the whole story that makes things great.

The release of a whole season allows it to tell a continuous story without the necessity to build arcs of suspense for each episode.

Lastly, cliffhangers at the end of a show make sense only, if the show already has been renewed. If not, they may spoil an otherwise good show, because it may leave things unfinished. Example: The Event.

Well, it doesn't change the fact that how we perceive watching TV shows has changed over the years. I think there aren't that many shows which bring "the whole country" to the tv screen anymore. In Poland you can still watch GoT before it's TV premiere on HBO, via HBO Go platform (the official TV premiere is one day after the USA one, so you have almost a whole day before it airs). It's the only show I watch on TV actually, as per its scheduled release in TV.

With such a plethora of shows to choose from, their high budgets, variety and different formats (ex. short 6-10 episode seasons) and their availability, we are free to "dose them" however we want. Be it in one shot or on a weekly basis. TV schedules don't dictate what and when you watch sth most of the times.

This is the part where you limp out of the thread with whatever faint shadow of dignity you might have once had.

I probably shouldn't admit to this, but frankly, I feel a bit sorry for you.

In my opinion, the way Blizzardboy posted (and that's what I summed up in the quote a few posts above) is an ongoing provocation - it's why I called him a bot - because the only purpose of continuously posting stuff like "no, it's not", "that's all nonsense", "you have no point" without actually saying something, is riling someone up.
