Watched first season of that as well. Yes, pretty funny.
Nothing wrong with DvDs/BluRays, imo.

Well, there’s nothing “wrong” with VHS either. It’s just old technology now and a lot less convenient than keeping digital data or simply signing up in platforms where you can reach anything through the cloud anytime. I get the feeling of wanting to own a collection, I still download stuff I want to keep for decades, too. I even buy hard copies once in every three years or so, if it is one of my absolute favorites. But hard copies stopped being the mainstream medium of entertainment a long time ago.

There is a lot wrong with VHS, compared with what came later. Whether physical media or streaming is more convenient, depends on a couple of things that are not equal for everyone.

Probably won't be up your alley, but i've been watching the new DC Harley Quinn cartoon. R-rated. Episode 6 is pretty funny.

Henry Cavill definitely nailed the part of Geralt. He does his own stunts in his movies and they needed somebody like that.
I understand why the critics aren't as crazy about the show. It does have some issues.

Not really a fair comparison. I watch BluRays for certain movies because the audio and visual quality is still better than streaming (although the gap narrows constantly), and with a mail service I can view the latest releases earlier and cheaper than what I can get via a streaming service. That's changing too, as movies are available for streaming at about the same time you can rent physical copies. I imagine in a few years the need for physical media won't exist.
There's no reason to watch a VHS because there are superior physical media available. And VHS versions of the overwhelming majority of new content aren't produced any longer.

Well, yes, also VHS actually has significantly worse video quality and you have to rewind and fastforward instead of skipping to the parts you want to watch. The analogy was just to point out “there is nothing wrong with still using it but it is an outdated preference in general.”

It's fun to watch, has good atmosphere, the actors aside from Triss fit their roles nicely (Henry fits Geralts role, but I also like Yeneffers actress, or even the supporting characters like Dandelion or Tissaia), has strong production values and good music.
Big fan of the games. I'm 3 episodes in. Like the casting decisions and the production values are good. Atmosphere captures that of the games well. The plot is a little meandering so far, and even having played all the games I have a little bit of trouble following the table setting. Nevertheless it's far (far) better than it could have been. Will keep watching.

Watched Netflix's Dracula mini series. Was a bit of a mess (didn't know what it actually wanted to be: horror, fantasy or comedy?). I don't like this kind of interpretations cus I'm a fan of the traditional cliched Stoker depiction (gothic horror). But they definately wanted to try something new and some ideas were pretty neat. Plus Dracula himself was a very interesting chcaracter: a charming and talkative smart-guy, but ultimately a monster that didn't have any moral dilemmas with how he treated people...

Yep, and season 3 doesn't look that much better either. I think they are improvising too much, it doesn't feel like Castlevania anymore, rather like some kind of fanfiction. Why can't they do a few episodes in which the characters literally explore Dracula's Castle?

Castlevania season one was the best thing in TV in years.
And season two of was some of the absolute worst.
How much worse can it be? Right?

It didn't really make sense to me either. Dracula basically stopped being a character in season 2. He started off in Season 1 being a super intimidating villain and then at the very beginning of season 2 until the last episode he had his ass superglued to a chair.
And now season 3 I guess they'll be fighting random sidekicks from season 2... okay?

Oh, and Trevor and Alucard spent the entirety of season 2 suppressing their sexual feelings for each other while constantly arguing like teenagers. That was really pointless too.

Basically that. Poor mechanism for drama.

Ok, I'll be honest.
The first 8 episodes of Castlevania season 3 are definately build up material. There is some action, the plot progresses, but it's main focus are dialogues. There are episodes almost entirely consisting of dialogue. Sometimes it's smart, even philosophical, sometimes it's almost infantile (characters talk about some basic and obvious stuff, commenting on just about anything: as if bored "normies" met for a chat about their daily lives)...
But the final two episodes are something of a total explosion, a ride with no brakes whatsoever and things get really crazy: we have action (lots of it, of epic battle proportions), nods to Castlevania fans (Legion!), blood & gore (well, that's actually nothing new for the series as it's rated 18+), sex (swinging in both sides if you know what I mean), betrayals and even a few surprises. And I must say it's pretty well-paced even if there is a lot going on at once.
Overall even if the build-up might be lackluster for some (although I did enjoy it), I think it makes sense in a longer perspective and it's definately worth the wait for the finale...

I liked it. Alucard arc felt like pointless filler but the rest was fun. Isaac got some interesting interactions, Trevor got some funny moments, Saint Germain is interesting and looking forward to seeing more of him, Sypha is best character and has some sweet spell applications(though screw fire jetpacks). Lenore is simply love. Also nice twist regarding the missing people.
