killing time waiting for the end of western civilization, i'm attempting to find a new show to occupy myself during down time. being a fan of "breaking bad", i gave "better call saul" a try. it blows. retarded writing, retarded story, retarded everything. i am currently 6 episodes into "peaky blinders", which i put off since i spotted it, because of the retarded name. as it turns out, it's a good show, but it suffers from the same ailment as the movie "taxi driver": the soundtrack snowing blows. every second of soundtrack they use is some "super cool music" from the "super cool music factory". makes me want to throw up on whoever decided that, until their face eventually dissolves from the acid in my repeated regurgitations. the show is good; there is no need to try and "elevate" it with "popular" tripe. they could have done infinitely better with period music or classical.

at least the story, scenery, and acting are decent. never thought i'd see a british-based show outside of monty python that wouldn't disgust me with limp-wristed mundanity.

Jesus, fred, you are so utterly clueless. Peaky Blinders music is absolutely perfect (and the show beats Boardwalk Empire by a mile although I adore Steve Buscemi since Fargo).
And Better Call Saul is absolutely fricking HILARIOUS in its absurdity.

started watching "andor", and i'm two episodes in. so far, it's light-years better than the boba fett abortion; as well as kenobi, which only had a couple good episodes.

my only negative critique is how they've ended the episodes thus far. it feels like they're ending them prematurely; ending on the wrong note, and making the episodes not feel fleshed-out enough.

but the naturality of the show is exceptional; nothing seems far-fetched, and you get the very real sense that you are watching a well-worn story, through the eyes of it's relatable characters. whoever writes for this show, gives you the feeling that they've written this show their entire life, and portraying the story through these episodes like they do, makes you feel like you are watching someone put on their favorite shirt again. it's so at ease with itself, it's ridiculous(in a good way). every one of the characters thus far, have been like people i've known in real life. it has a lived-in feel to it, with none of the glitz and glam of bad writing and design.

hopefully, they continue doing great in the upcoming episodes. this is the kind of feel that the creators of star wars were going for originally: a space drama that feels like you're just watching your world, but on different planets. the interconnectivity and relatability is key.

I'm watching "The Last of Us" and "I Am Not Ok with This". Both are good shows. "IAMOwT" is better, in my opinion. I can't wait until the next episode.

Andor is too good to be a Star Wars show that takes place in between canon movies.

I’d also recommend Andor, especially to anyone who’s given up on Star Wars after the last trilogy. Skarsguard’s speech to the rebel wanting to defect is up there in top Star Wars scenes for me.

Hopefully Disney doesn’t ruin season 2.

I'm slightly ashamed to admit that I continue to watch everything Star Wars related on Disney+, even after the franchise was drawn & quartered with the most recent trilogy. I told myself I was going to stop, but I just can't help myself. It pulls me in like a tractor beam.

The content in general is quite good and well done. Andor is definitely the best among the shows. To be honest, it's better written than the original trilogy. I don't agree with the angry internet mob that disliked Obi Wan Kenobi. The Star Wars fanbase can be pretty toxic and impossible to please because they have an extremely rigid idea of what "Star Wars" means and writers that draw outside of the lines get punished for it, but I'm glad that they did.

The Book of Boba Fett was kind of ridiculous, but it's still fun to watch imo if you don't take it too seriously. Some light-hearted action adventure.

The new Mandalorian season isn't as good as the first two. I won't get into specific spoilers, but they complete character arcs only to do a complete 180 on them, which was annoying.

I'm looking forward to Ahsoka. I always liked her in the animated Clone Wars series.

You only need to feel ashamed if you continue to watch everything while not enjoying it

I don't really get into the Star Wars lore, I am just a fan of great story telling. But part of a great story to me is a cohesive tone and too often I find Disney Star Wars injecting silliness into a high stakes moment to undercut any sense of danger and it is tiresome after a while. Every major character seems to get their own moments of comedy relief and that breaks my emersion everytime. Obi-won show felt like a cartoon too many times and I checked out while watching it during multiple episodes.

Amongst my friends whom I discuss these shows with, the ones who enjoy the shows also say "you can't take them seriosuly" or "you have to shut your brain off and just enjoy it" (not implying its a stupid show here). Obviously, a show about SciFi fantasy isnt always making sense but Star Wars always took its world seriously. But now it doesn't always do that, and now its difficult for fans to know what to expect out of a new show.

The quality has just taken a nosedive imho. Even the effects are extremely lacking in certain areas, like much of the awkward movements of baby yoda. Mando season 3 was such a letdown and the writing got so bizarre that I could not believe what I was watching. Andor was such a pleasant surprise. Ahsoka is the one newer show that im looking forward to because her commanding presence in Mando season 2 was awesome to watch and she never came off as silly. The spark isn't exstinqushed yet for me, but its close

I feel weird about it because technically I agree with the people who say that the franchise should just die, but I continue to watch it because it's fun. I like Star Trek too, but Star Wars is simply a better universe than Star Trek. It has so much personality and so much blending of genres. No matter how much of it they make I can't seem to get tired of it. Disney obviously isn't going to stop anytime in the near future anyway. They paid 4 billion for it.

Spoilers: When I mean Boba Fett is pretty fun as long as you don't take it too seriously, I mean that the show has a lot of campy action and not a ton of dialogue like Andor. But it's not a comedy like a Marvel movie is. Also, I think a lot of the fanbase was disappointed because they expected Boba Fett to be an actual crime lord on Tatooine and not a good guy fighting for common people. I was never expecting that to begin with because it's Disney and not HBO. Of course he was a good guy.

I do watch the SW shows on Disney+ when I'm bored but I sure am not in a hurry to do so. At this point, most of it is taking some already existing story ark and adapting it to SW universe anyway. Like the Boba Fett show was The Last Samurai almost scene by scene, the authentic, pre-modern clan with their warrior code, thought their captive their ways, they trained him with ancient wisdom, you even had the scene where he got his Tusken "samurai sword" as a ritual. And after that they fight the greedy civilized people together. One of the episodes of Mandolarian was the 7 Samurai (Magnificent Seven and Three Amigos also used the same plot), they trained the villagers against the evil intruders and saved the village etc etc.

Obi Wan had so many stupid scenes like Darth Vader was stopped by a line of fire which a Hindu Fakir could walk on, meanwhile he can stop spaceships with the force. With so many shows, there are so many inconsistencies in the universe but it doesnt matter anyway. Because it is just a money cow now.

Andor seemed a little more realistic and for adults but the main character was so uninteresting and dull, I did not care what happehs to him and quit.

You know, a long while back everybody told me to go watch Netflix' Squid Game, because it was supposedly really good. I avoid it because I am allergic to things that are recommended to me by too many people.

Then I finally watch it and infuriatingly enough it was actually really good. I would say the finale is kind of confused, but you can't expect perfection.

The greater question of the Cleopatra Netflix documentary that everybody hates so much is why would you even want that woman to belong to your race? Lol. If you really feel the urge to ahistorically annex a historical figure into your ethnic group you should at least pick somebody who wasn't a loser. Make Cicero or Beethoven a black dude or something, not some random drug addict.

One of the most well known rulers of one of the greatest civilizations that the earth has seen. What have you done

She built various beautiful temples to Egyptian and Greek gods, a synagogue for the Jews in Egypt,... oh no, man hope it is not this german word for poo again :S

Anyways, her reign was undeniably fascinating, has been for most of humanity... although her story has been overly romanticized by Hollywood in the past.
