Graphical animations still choppy and load times slow.
I bought the game 2 days ago, and despite the fact that the game is quite stable so far, meaning I haven't experienced any crashes, the game is tremendously slow and the animations are still choppy.
I have a high end computer with a good graphics card and lots of RAM. More than the minimum requirements to play this game. Does anyone else experience choppiness and long load times and if so are they going to release patches to optimize this problem?

if you mean mouse cursor is flickering all the time, then yes.
Long start-up time, maybe...but these things don't bother me

Actually the cursor flickering doesn't bother me, what's more distracting is the combat animations withing the battlegrounds and also on the adventure map that's choppy.
The whole game seems to be choppy, I mean it's still playable but not as smooth as previous games like H3.
In fact ever since H5, the animations have been choppy and load times slow.
We deserve a smooth game don't you think?

I also have a good PC and I don't experience those. On the contrary all the animations are very smooth, and town windows load instantly (as I heard some people complain about their being slow).

These are my specs:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 2.6Ghz
8GB RAM
Nvidia GTX285 with 1GB
SB X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro soundcard
Standard Western Digital 1TB harddisk
Windows 7 64-bit
I experience no choppyness whatsoever. The cursor does flicker sometimes, but that does not bother me a bit.
Animations and gamespeed are smooth as silk.

RAM is definitely not the issue here. 4GB is usually enough for any computer unless you have a hundred programs running in the background when playing heroes or something... It may have to do with the 64 bit system, though. I've heard some issues with that. Tone down the graphics and see if the problems are still there. If the problems persist, then it means it has nothing to do with your hardware.
If toning down the graphics makes the game smooth, then try to close your background programs (go to taskmanager to see which ones are taking up your system resources, especially CPU percentage). If that still doesn't help, you probably need a new graphics card, even though what you have now should be enough...

For some reason the game doesn't want to launch anymore, I'm hearing from others who are having same problems and saying it's a network issue from their part.
Anyways, the issue at hand, my graphics card is updated and it's not giving me problems, cause I can play other games that require even more juice than H6. Besides, the game never crashed on me while playing and I never recieved the imfamous blue screen saying that my graphics card failed or something. The game just needs some patching to reduce the framerate and chopiness. I don't run any other programs in the background while playing games since I don't have a habit to do that anyways.

Vista
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ (2 CPUs), 2.3 GHz
3 GB RAM
DirectX 10
ATI Radeon 5700 Series (have latest driver)
Am actively looking for a solution right now, but for me the game is semi-unplayable atm. W/ those system specs I'm not hitting anything out of the park but I can run pretty much any game - H6 shouldn't be any diff.
For me the problem is background textures ALL OVER THE PLACE are popping back and forth/flickering in front of foreground textures. This makes it hard to tell where the path is on the adventure map (you have to use the cursor to tell), not to mention just ruins the experience. Game is also fairly laggy, but from what I've heard it's that way for almost everyone.
This problem mostly occurs on the adventure map and bigtime in cutscenes (unwatchable), but some sieges are affected as well (vs. inferno on the first campaign map, for instance).
I'm thinking it's more of an ATI problem and less of an nvidia prob, just like Rage was worse on ATIs than nvidias when it came out and was a fiasco (on PC anyway). But that's just speculation. More likely that Ubi failed and didn't check compatibility very well before releasing. Any help would be appreciated.

I set every settings to max and everything are smooth, except one battle map - on the coastlines where you have beaches on all sides. On that particular map things slow down, but once the battle is over it returns to normal.
When loading a save things appear slowly over time... you'd have invisible heroes, creatures and buildings on the adventure map. But I guess that's how the game's written, it's like that in the demo too.

Hi, I skimmed through this thread and I did not see it mentioned, but if you are experiencing choppiness on a machine that is above min requirements on windows 7 here's something that helped me:
In your advanced system settings, you will find something called "virtual memory". By default it is set to system managed, on the drive your installed the game on, try switching it off system managed and bump it up. I put mine somewhere around 8GB. This solved all the problems for me.
Also, while this should seem obvious, the game takes a major performance dive if your are performing hard disk maintenance tasks such as system backup, virus scans, file indexing, etc. So make sure none of that is scheduled during the times you play.
