Hmm don't see how freezing would 'end' them. Stop them from moving? Maybe. Unlike the living, however, even being totally encased of ice can't hurt them. *is confused*

Well, having your cells burst by having them flash-frozen would stop anything from moving ever again... That's why cryogenics don't work, BTW, when the person is thawed out, they are basically a pile of frozen human goop attached to bone Popsicle sticks... *bleh*

Hmm not really. See the force that drives them is not internal. The cells 'dying' would have no effect. You would have to smash them while frozen. Let me explain...
These are not your movie zombies. It is no virus, insanity, etc that animates/moves them. It is the will of the person who animated them. You can chop them up, and the individual parts will still move. Short of total disintegration they will keep coming. Until the will that animates them is put a stop to.

Indeed, and freezing them IS effective. As long as they remain frozen *laughs* without being able to move, they can not put enough force to break themselves out. Taking out the parts that allow movement will slow them down also (elbows, knees, feet, hands, etc). The rest can 'roll' but it would slow them down a lot.
Good thing they themselves are not infectious huh? Would make zombie flicks seem tame.

Energy weapons have a limited charge, roughly around 20 shots (give or take). While they can take out a large number of zombies in one shot..there is a whole lot of them.
