Some results of playing with game.orc editor:
1. Model animations are stored not only in gobj files, but can be stored directly in game.orc it can be used for implimentation of new heroes made from units or cutscene heroes as yume.
2. More than basic 4 resource types can be added directly from editor, but it will consume the hell of job in cause of interface, mines etc.
3. Worst of that - conflux checs this file someway and if it differs from one in the last patch - this damned programm send you offline...

Just wondering, but is it actually possible to make a real black dragon out of the yellow, sparkly one whe have at the moment?
They should have made all the light around him at least some dark blue, purple stuff but not yellow...

i tried to edit new dungeon unit

(i just wanna see old powerful black dragon)

so using orc to zip tool(it works very good) but

game.orc editor make me crazy.when i run this thing,

its pop up error, saying "the specified file contains invalid data"

but running anyway.

and then i find game.orc in data18.zip file (which is

converted with orc tool.data18 is only one,got dungeon scripts )

but it just keep loading can't editing things

so please anyone. give some advise for editing things or

right editing tools

The same problem for me, any idea why it doesn't work normally? I'd like to mod h6, because I have a preference to black dragon. Maybe I'll be glad to see a black dragon strong enough to break the balance of the champion creatures. So can anyone help me out? Pretty thanks!!

Now editor works fine only for version 1.5 and below. Data18 means you are using much higher version so it will not work for it.

Then it means at least now, I can not have access to the files that includes the parameters of black dragon or any other creatures?

Not all parameters are stored in game.orc, and game orc itself is still editable by hex editor.

So I'm guessing that WoG-scale mods are out of the question?...
Not that I would even bother.

H3 was released in 1999, first major changes with WOG in 2006. 7 years of work. Who knows will H7 get same scale modifications or not. There was only 5 (five!) minor mods and 1 major mod for H6 (H5 had more than 60 mods touching different levels of game process). Are MMH6 so uninteresting for modding community?

Still more than the poor H4, with the only really major (and still only minor) mod being Equillibris.

texture mods and head switching is easy. Interface info expancions are more heavy, but available. But i see none of them here. Only one recolour mod. In H5 section there are lot of them...

What about changing the loading screen for a map..is it possible?

Is there a way to implement a mod that adds a button : switch all army/artefacts between heroes?

There were lots of wonderfull remixes of themes of the previous HOMM games !
I wondered if I could add combat themes from the previous games to heroes 6 to make them randomly playing as well as the other combat themes already existing ?

Are there teams working on HOMM6 mods ?

H6 had a very short life, and it's already "dead". The buggy release and the buggy patches didn't help at all.

To my knowledge there aren't any team, although maybe on the Polish/Czech/Countries of the east. But here in English, none...just compare with H5, where we have a complete subforum filled with hundreds of MODs - and here BIGJOCKER started  QuickSilver IV but gave up relative soon.

At a first glance it seems to have a lot of potential, but it's very very unstable. I can't even import an .ORC without it crashing. Maybe I'm missing a file or doing something wrong.

How to use Game.orc editor.

Link to editor: http://www.multiupload.com/2AEC37CCIW .

Instructions:
1) unpack archive content to game dir;
2) unpack all contents of Data*.orc files to new folder (orc2zip on them and then extract to this new folder);
3) run runeditor.cmd
4) wait until scenario editor loaded;
5) in dialog "Game Editor" press the "OK" button;
6) when game editor is loaded open the game.orc file.

Warning. game.orc will not be saved correctly if you unpacks not all *.orc files.

And yes, the editor is very unstable.

All that I can down load is a file iLividSetupV1.exe that doesn't look like what you refer.

orc editor
http://www.mediafire.com/?q1kq16btv2tge68

orc2zip-zip2orc
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2hocu6ns5eq82p3

For version 1.5.1
Data12.orc contains Ability.xml file
Data13.orc contains game.orc file

Have fun ^^

Thanks for the link,  I have 1.52 installed, do you think the files are still as you listed?   If not I'll look at them.  From the procedure it sounds like all the all the ,orc files need to be in the folder for them to be edited and saved correctly.

One more question does VI have a ingame editor console like V did?

I lost my lap top disk and don't have the files.  So I'm trying to redo all of this.  I have the orc2zip and game editor downloaded.
Where is(are) the "archive content"?
I tried running the editor and got two missing dll's berkelium and GameOrbit.  How many more dll's need to be installed on a 64 bit machine?  GameOrbit installed but I get an error with that installation.  I don't remember this sort of behavior 2 years ago.
