TOH money prizes politic
I like to discuss this theme cos i think is important and influence TOH players activity. Yesterday i recruited on Russian server one skilled played, i explained how TOH system work etc. And here he ask - so TOH is just a table with statistic ? No, i said we have veteran players, Caesar tourney, money prizes. And well, he register.
I want to know what is TOH money politic now cos i don't want to say lie to people about that and make false promises.
TOH Heroes 5 fist season : Firedragon got 500$ for Ceasar, Strider got money for the Grandmaster Medal (don't remember exactly how much). Vex got money as most honorable player (he got his money ?). And clan competition winners got nothing even if was promised prize for this on start of season.
TOH Heroes 5 season two : Players got nothing as i understand in money prizes. Vesuvius please some explanations on situation. Are we punished for boycott vs Natalka ? Grandmaster Medal have no more money prize ? Most honorable player got nothing for now on ? Caesar ?
In case of Caesar if we are punished for boycott why not to give prize to Natalka and other players who accepted to play in Caesar ? Are they punished too ?
Finally will be good to say clearly what money prizes remain for this season. To me is better to remove all mentioning about money prizes if player will get nothing in the end. False promises not suits very well for a name as "Tournament of Honor" ...

First i want to say thanks to Ves for all his Job. He is doing it for free and cost him money. About clans season 1 and money prizes there was problem, not about money but about expec/offered one and receive other. For avoid same situation in future its good to set clear rules about prizes from begin. I don't care if there don't have any money prizes. I never played for money. I like game, like people in toh and play with them. Its all what matter for me. Ves is cool too!
About h5 season 2 i think there is better to not have caesar, its going to end with much bigger drama from season 1 and its bad for all. Ban natalka was good example how immature you are all. Don't matter how "hard" is to communicate with her she is part from top rank players and if you want true competition you need to beat her too.
H6 is out lets forget old grudges and build new 
HF and GL to all new season

Yes Ves is cool. I understood that in Heroes Kingdoms season 1. Really nice management, stile as commander of TOH HK army. Was little incident here then i decided to exit TOH alliance and to attack Ves. I was aware Ves will punish me later anyway but this is the way i am

The prizes/money was a waste, never got any real respect or recognition. Only drama.
And that is for a relatively small league compared to some huge ones on first person shooter games, starcraft etc... and even then my prizes were bigger than 10,000 man competitions lol.
No, until I actually see multiplayer activity that is by far more than what homm5 brought us, cash prizes are moot.
Even heroes kingdoms 'big prizes' are 500 seals or a $50 copy of homm6 lol.

I'm afraid 500$ prizes alone can't buy real respect and recognition. Sure is drama cos no real implication in TOH live from TOH administration, only total indifference. And indifference can't bring too much respect ...
So all prizes for H5 season 2 was false promise, Vesuvius once again just "forget" to delete information about money prizes ...

HK is managed by UBI. My opinion about UBI this days changed a lot. I think they are greedy. The way how they develop H6, launching it in beta state, using final version as beta test, and consumers as beta testers ...
I addressed directly to UBI representative about my problems with Russian key, i said was no info that key will work only on Russian server. Please help me with my little problem as i try help with my topics UBI. Response was - I would suggest you to contact the customer support of your retailer and explain the situation. I will check out if it is possible to add a mention saying that the key will be available only for your zone(not sure it is a common practice). This is the "help" i got from UBI ... But not all are like this. Recently i participated in concurs organized by Russian company Buka (game distributor in Russia). Main prize was statuette of Michael. I not win main prize but i got as many others consolation prize - collection edition of Heroes 6. How big contrast between two company is, UBI refuse even to change the problematic key and BUKA offering collection edition for free. That is example to follow not greedy UBI Now i will have two copies of game working only on Russian server .

I wish TOH will succeed to get better activity in this season. Pro arguments are H6 have good potential for multiplayer, in time may have much better balance compared to H5. Good in game chat favoring contact between players, easier to make people know about TOH.
But some factors work vs TOH :
- no more lan game, so no hamachi, no gamers for TOH using torrent-ed game copy.
- many veterans will not accept innovations H6 have and will stay with H3, H4, H5.
- UBI will implement his own ranking in time.
- Money prizes removed on TOH.
- No simultaneous turns for now.
- Good chat may work bad way too, players may use it to communicate and forget about TOH message board, msn etc ...
TOH need some innovations to stay competitive. In game communication evolved , TOH not.
Time will show how thing will go ...

UBI opening own rankings? Good luck, they can't even release a playable game and you believe they will care about your ratings, handle ranks, listen to each one complain as ToH did all this time.
Why you think that no torrent-ed copies of the game play against ToH. I don't recall ToH supporting thieves.

you can play only on rus server with rus key infinitus, ubisoft made this decision because euros/americans are buying rus keys which are very cheap instead of buying it in store of their country. in germany for example the game costs 39€ , its about 55~$. so of course ubisoft wants us to buy the game in our homecountry to get more profit. if you want to play with other euros you need to buy h6 at amazon.co.uk or sth similar
btw no price money=no drama and less unhonorable players, so its good that there wont be any price money because we are playing this game for fun

Activity for h6 season cant up so fast. Game is complete different in many aspects from h3/h4/h5. Its can be good can be bad, i dont know. I'm playing campaigning atm and before finish them all dont plan to play vs other people. Hope for this time ubi will release simulate turns. After h5 i cant imagine more to play heroes with no simulate turns. Its take so much time and ppl cant spend it.
About money prizes, its cool to have but Ves is not big company he is fan on game like all us. He is spend his own money/time for keep ToH alive. I'm not feel like ask him for gave money. Money prizes can up activity but same time can bring more people like Strider. I don't want to play with bad losers with complex.

I believe Vesuvius is good man, he just like to be obeyed, respected as many of us. No respect, no prizes, even if this prizes was promised at start of season. I consider this position wrong, keeping given promise or not is honor test ... His motivation to keep running TOH for 12 year in non of our business and can't serve as prove in dispute indifferent or not. Let me show you one possible explanation for keep TOH alive, i sure example i will give have nothing to do with TOH, Vesuvius etc. Just a illustration of different motivation. Take a look. Sandkings (Novellete) . For this who don't have passion to read all plot summary just read genesis part. Or other example Michael Jackson's Neverland was build because he love kids, or was something else ...

Sure TOH not supporting thieves, but in H5 was possible to play multiplayer for free because lan option in game and Hamachi program. Still UBI ranking was only for money on official server. TOH served, wanted he or not as ranking for free to play part of community. In H6 no more such situation. No more lan, no more Hamachi.

Rus key with zone limitation from BUKA cost 13$, Rus key from Steam cost 19$ without zone limitation. For sure if i knew about zone limitation i buy Steam version, but they hided this information. I suspect UBI want to make us buy the game double time ...

Strider now play on Russian league, and last information i have he manage to get to final of tourney were he play vs Zilo. No drama or something. All depends on quality of tourney organization, for things run smooth need clear rules, administration implication etc ... Not like in last TOH Caesar were problem may stay unsolved for year or more and no one really care. What is this if not indifference ?

And i believe that acusations cheating created dramma(and were responsible for lack of emperor) in the past season (i might be wrong i didnt follow it so closely). From my point of view Ves did the right thing, not finishing last season, and what i was gathering from the most members of forums they wanted the same. Obviously it sucks for the rest of the competitors for emperor but i guess its hard to make everybody happy.

Ves.. why dont you post your profit loss statement for TOH over last 12 years. I dont think some of these people really truely understand how much money you freely donate for automation etc etc to keep TOH going. And you dont ask for a dime.
I for one am grateful and I APPRECIATE you and all that you have done with TOH, and for Heroes over the years. Its a shame that people can take free stuff and still find a way to whine and complain. This is a tournament of honor.. You should be playing ONLY for your honor and ego.. any money ves donated in past was icing only.. It is NOT required or OWED to us.
As you can tell.. Drama is not created by TOH or Ves... Its the players that start and fuel the Drama.

I couldnt give a monkey's whether there are prizes or not , because quite honestly im not good enough to win any anyways ! Also , if the game makers themselves dont offer prizes for playing the game why on earth would you expect a guy running an independant fan website to reward you for playing a computer game ? I go to work for money , games i play for FUN

I stated it before and i repeat it: Vesuvius runs the site and spends his time for nothing, expecting him to pay for his work and all the bickering here would be too much.
He should delete the note concerning the prize money though. Dont know why he spends 500 out of his own pocket for this. Are you a rich man or do you get the money from ubi ?

Vesuvius has single handedly kept online heroes community alive for multiple years in the past for many players.
As such, i will never need a prize to support the tournament.
I do however worry about latest ubi policies, splitting the already smallish community into multiple regions might hurt the game's multiplayer appeal. It might make H6 fail big-time multi-player wise.
So Infinitus - I'd say when promoting it to a new player that you know, just mention it's organizational and long standing success. Good word like that always help when recruiting.

Less money, more honor I am extremely happy that TOH still lives, if it didnt i wouldnt play H6 now, playing random opponents on official server never was, never will be, an option. Keep the money out of it, it only makes sense if there are many, many more players imo.

I propose Ves to put some fee for registration in Toh, may be this way the game would be more fun, and no more complains in the future
If toheroes.com wouldnt existed, in the best case I have probably played my games with my bro as I do mostly. Its fun, but not same thing ofc!

Where does it say on the new H6 toh about prize money? I may consider it if there is a huge amount of activity, but not right now.
No fees for joining TOH, that would defeat the purpose of the site.
I've been playing the campaigns, and even played one multiplayer game, I like it, just that it takes a while for it to sink in, and even the campaigns are huge... taking a lot of time to complete.

It says that firedragon got $500 for that event, which is true. Doesn't say that others will get it forever, till I'm 80 years old.
