Peacemaker = double entendre

Edited By: Hexa on 9 Jul 2003

<Still liplocked with the Gootch, lying back gently on the tuft of grass where the he'd found her, Peacemaker's eyes finally drift half-open. To her horror, she realizes for the first time that he is bruised and beaten and covered with dried blood from his recent encounter with Snowy.  Peace sits up abruptly, pushing him along with her.>

"My God Gootch, whatever happened to you???  I didn't do that did I???"

<The Gootch does not respond. His eyes purposefully follow Peace's gestures, yet he remains oblivious to her words of concern as well as his own wounds.  She looks around resolutely, and suddenly there beside her in the grass appears Saruman's book, How to Control Divine Powers for Dummies.  A little less uncertainly than the last time, Peace quietly observes:

"Did I do that?"

<She picks it up and flips quickly through the pages, reads briefly, then holds out her hand palm up.  In it magically appears a bottle of Dom Perrignon.  She extends the other hand and a corkscrew materializes there.  Once again she speaks, this time half-question half-statement:

"I did that...?"

(What was that about leaving corcscrews unattended around elves???)

<As the Gootch continues to study her every movement, Peace opens the champagne, then dampens the edge of her gown to begin dapping the fabric gently to his face.  The Gootch winces and barks briefly at the sting, grabbing Peace's wrist to pull her hand away, firmly at first, then again he looks back to her face.  Without breaking his gaze at her eyes, he keeps a gentle grip on her slight wrist, taking the bottle from her other hand and setting it aside, then adds that wrist to the grip of his hand.

<Peace stares at both her wrists, now captive in one of Gootch's fists, and realizes how big his hands are.  She recalls an old joke about what it means when men have big hands.  Her eyes grow large. An unintentionally slavish whimper escapes from her lips before she can suppress it with an audible, dry gulp.

<The Gootch pulls Peace's hands and draws her close, very close.  She resists slightly and his grip tightens disproportionally as though to signal certain crushing defeat at the slightest indication of rebellion; the clarity that resistance is futile. She feels the warmth of his breath on her neck and it tickles her ear and torments her insides with a fluttering rush of theramone heat. She is in utter disbelief that the Great Gootch is there, with her, so very, very close...

<The Gootch's eyes, still unwaveringly locked on hers, drift downward to her lips, her throat, her breasts...  As Peace falls helplessly into every inch of his gaze, he  reaches with methodic deliberation around the back of her neck to the ribbon tied there in a bow, and begins pulling the ribbon, resolutely but with a slow gentleness unexpected from the Gootch...

<Still a captive to the grip of his immense hand, Peace starts coming untied along with the ribbon.  This was nothing like the ceremony at the Temple, oh no.  This was something entirely different.  Something much more powerful, something competely new, over which she seemingly had very little, if any, control.

<Peace feels her breaths grow deeper, audibly and against her will.  Her powers of reason begin wilting helplessly as she desperately searches to decide rationally whether to ride this wave or to fight it.  It is unnerving to her that she cannot seem to find it within herself, yet she finds no motivation anywhere in her body with which to genuinely resist.  Instead, something in her makes her tug at her hands again, this time deliberately spurring another delicious tightening of the Gootch's resolute grip, to savor the tiny twinge of pain that portends the certainty of her fate at his hand.

<Only one thing comes to her mind to say...she speaks closely into his ear, almost at a whisper, a gasp between uncontrolled, deep breaths...

"Well this is a damn site better than faeries in your pants, wouldn't you say miluv?"

-- Just then a large Hologram blasts up over the two of them seemingly emanating from the back of Peace's gown, and begins blaring an obnoxious John Phillip Sousa number.  Giant rotating neon words appear and are loudly announced repeatedly over the din of Sousa:

"Unauthorized user. ACCESS DENIED."
"Unauthorized user. ACCESS DENIED."
"Unauthorized user. ACCESS DENIED..."

------   AAAAAAWWWWWHHHHHH, SARUMAN!!!!????!!!!

If you want to join a good cause, then join the Rebels of the Void. You don't want to ask any pleasures from these oppressors. It's much better to earn those pleasures for yourself. For all of those who join the rebellion, there is a good opportunity for advancement in ranks, free unlimited food and drink (mostly popcorn) and free accomodation with your own bathroom. Training will be provided on the training grounds and you have free use of all facilities of the Void. If you are interested, travel to the woods south of here and I will show you the portal. If you choose to support the goddesses, you will not be targeted directly, but will be in a high risk of getting caught in the skirmishes. The choice is yours.

Vain

(This happens outside the Temple.)

The Letter from the Temple

Djive relaxed lazily upon a divan flanked by two exquisite specimens of Gnoll bodyguards. Ah, the oozing perfumes of swamp muck! And the scent of fresh male gnoll sweat!

This was life! No responsibilities as a Goddess of the Temple! No would-be believers who refused to believe! No assassination attempts in the dead of night! And no see-it-all who spies on her all the time!

A gong sounded and a messenger arrived with a sealed letter from the Goddesses of the Temple. It reported about the latest events in the Temple, and told about the latest machinations of Marelt.

While The Gootch’s attempt in solving the riddle had miserably failed. He had not even known the most magic word!

How anyone could fail to guess the magic word was beyond Djive, even the lowliest of the Gnolls around her knew what it was! Ah well, humans always tended to make big problems out of small problems!

After having read the report Djive decided to give the Goddesses some practical help with the Rebels. She had examined the malicious Marelt for some time now, and came to several interesting findings about the nature of the void where he had proclaimed himself ruler.

Of course, most of the information had been collected by other Elementals (sources not revealed here) but she was finally ready to teach the obnoxious spirit a lesson he would not forget any time soon.

The Meeting with Vain

A gaseous form materialized to form a hazy shape before Djive.

"I’ve expected you Vain," Djive says. "I’ve heard of your distress from one of your friends."

"My distress??" stammers the tormented shape. Clearly all the requests the rebels have put upon Vain has made Vain miserable.

"I heard that you were being used as little more than a slave to fulfil every whim of a certain magic elemental," Djive states.

Vain hesitates.

"Just look at yourself? Here is a mirror of truth. Take a look!" Djive holds up a mirror. A terrified shriek from poor Vain. And then whimpering… Djive comforts Vain and tries to make her cheer up.

"I’m a wreck!" wails Vain. "All used up and ready for the dump of excess material! Woe to me!"

"Yes, I’ve understood that your master has been rather demanding as of late." More sobbings from the gaseous form. "Tell me," Djive suggested. "Have you ever thought of what it would be like to be free?"

"Master not allow that. Master too strong for me."

"But if it could be arranged, would you do a little something for me then?"

The whimpering gaseous form took was clearly disbelieving but it was apparent that Djive wasn’t making idle chitter-chatter. Some hauteur seemed to enter the gaseous form, along with a glimmer of hope to be free of the oppression.

"Name your terms."

"The Goddesses at the Temple seems to have some problems. I’d like you to close all the portals which you’ve helped your master to build. Also I want you to dissolve all spy equipment which you have helped in making."

"Is that all?"

"Speak with Peacemaker at the Temple of Worship. She’s an Elemental and is more up to date with the Temple’s situation. She’s much more reasonable than your Master. I’m sure she’ll grant you the use of the new Temple’s recreation areas, in return for giving your Master some headaches. And do note that if you want to kick your Master’s behind I’ll applaud you doing so."

The gaseous form shone up. "It shall be my pleasure."

"It’s agreed then. All you need to do is to enter this chamber," Djive explained. "A green light will be lit when you have been prepared."

Vain entered the chamber.

Djive rubbed her hands. It was only the smallest part of the Vain that had entered the chamber, but the metamorphose it went through would happen to all Vain material it came into contact with spontaneously. Djive very much hoped it would rob the unruly magic elemental of all its power.

"One advice," Djive started.

"Yes," said Vain.

"Don’t forget to report your Master to the Council of Elementals for Slavery. You are not supposed to put up with all of his demands and requests like this."

"Truly?"

"Yes, Truly"

NOTE: You Rebels knows nothing of this meeting. At least not until Marelt gets a supina for slavery or Vain starts to dissolve his so fine HQ.

*The people in the Temple notice that the sun is shining very brightly today. Fortunately, they don't realize that this is caused by the pleasure of Marelt Ekiran. One of the goddesses just made a VERY BIG MISTAKE.*

It is always dangerous to make false assumptions about your enemies. I am always portrayed as an evil dictator and rebellious leader, up to the point where they started to believe their own lies. Apparently, Djive thought that the element of Vain was being oppressed by me, which is not the case. I am not an outside force controlling the element, I am the essence of control and intelligence in the element of Vain (also known as the Latmar of Vain). So very basically, I am Vain.
Another dangerous underestimation was the fact that Djive thought that she could shut herself away from the forces of Vain. I recently explained that Vain radiation is everywhere, so also in wherever she is hiding. Of course, I knew everything that she was planning and decided to play along. I simply took a blob of elemental Vain and focussed my essence in it. After making it look a little shabby, Djive fell for her own lies at once. I still laugh when I think of how she was convinced that my essence was actually the independant but suppressed element of Vain.
A bit of "yes, yes, ah hah, sure" was all that I needed to convince her that I was on her side. This means that I can access the temple safely in this form and my enemy thinks that my portals will shut down soon. Maybe I'll even close my portals for a short time to make them think that their plan is working.

Todays contribution for the history books. I think I better go have another council with my fellow rebels to see how we can optimalize our benefit from this.

Well, Marelt if you want to change the description of Vain (which I interpreted as an RP description of your character) then so much WORSE for you. This description clearly stated that Vain was something which was formed and controlled by you but not part of you.

Why are you much worse off? Let me just say this:
- You entered a certain chamber without knowing what it would do to you.

And to spell it out: If it was Vain entering the chamber the effects won't be too bad. On the other hand if you insist it was Marelt, then the following question is in order: Have you written your obituary?

It's not diffult to see that you are a dictator and evil tyrant. Do you not require an oath of obedience from all the Rebels who would seek to join you?

Let me also remind you of the to me one and most important rules for Role-Playing:
ANY character that can eavesdrop on anyone at any time are NEVER permissible as a PLAYER Character. (This is especially so when you claim you can eavesdrop on Gods or Goddesses.)

Come on! You can perhaps bully a couple of mortals, but stay away from forces that are to big for you to handle. As the essence of order and intelligence in the element of Vain, I can easily isolate a little of it from the rest, especially now that it is no ordinary Vain anymore. And no, I did not go in there as a whole. I just split of a little of my essence. And even if you had managed to put a taint in the element of Vain, I have strong shields around the hideout and I'm used to things like that. Vain is a very unruly and unstable element.

Just so you know, the oath that I require does not ask for direct obedience towards me. It asks for loyalty to the struggle, which is to ensure that they do not suddenly switch sides.

And since everything is written down for everyone to read, you cannot hide what you are doing. I assumed the role of the Watcher of All for as long as I have been here. If you are really planning something with the others, then use private messages.

Well, if you are such a powerful force then why do you ask for others to assist you? Seems redundant doesn't it? And you are the bully with your oath!

Quote:

I never assumed you did. And you didn't need to do that.

Quote:

They won't help you. Those shields protect against other things. They can't possibly protect you against this danger. You fail to understand the nature of the threat. (And I'm not going to tell you.)

And isn't this a much harsher requirement than the one asked for by the Goddesses for making a VISIT to their Temple. Because:
- The Goddesses don't require loyalty to allow you to enter the Temple.
- The Goddesses won't eliminate dissenters to the cause (but I'd expect precious little mercy for any disseneters to your rebellion.) Vaporized or a Toad for three days?

RP-note. As long as you didn't use those powers overtly we could accept them, but I don't recall you describing your powers in detail. However, now you attribute to yourself much greater powers than those of the Goddesses and that is simply not acceptable.

The Faeries instantly rise up and frantically whizz behind Peace's back, open a small invisibale chamber on the nape of her gown, and press several tiny buttons.  The hologram grinds to a halt and shuts down...>

Her gaze meets his.  She exhales to make room for a gaping sob of air for which her lungs scream at the sight of him.  Tears begin spilling in little streaming drops down her flushed cheeks.

Enough of the Plot struggle please! It's boring you too.

After watching RedSox games on TV for 3 straight weeks, realizes that he is quite hungry. Not knowing what has happened, he follows a trail of buttered-popcorn straight through an open portal leading to Marelt's hideout. Smells the air.

"Someone in burning some popcorn," said rsf.

"No that's just barbeque flavored popcorn," answered Marelt. RSF jumped back startled.

"Hey I remember you! You're the devil!"

"HA! That's a good one. You obviously haven't been reading the thread lately have you?" Marelt shows RSF the thread.

"I'm not reading 8 pages just to catch up on what's been happening. That will take forever."

"I'll give you the ability to read 100 pages a min"

"Not from the devil! NO! NO!" Redsoxfan looks at the pages and instantly learns everything. "WOW! That's incredible! I learned a lot really fast!"

"I didn't do anything to you. You could already read that fast."

"HUH?!? What are you talking about?"

"You have a strong mind. You just need some guidance."

"You aren't exactly a mage or anything. You are what I like to call a person who can slow down time without realizing it and still move at the same rate as you would in regular time allowing you to do hours of work in a few seconds. If you walk behind me you will see a maze of caves. Normally it would take a person a few days, not knowing the way, and a few hours if they did. I'm going to teleport to the other side and I want you to find your way through in a couple of minutes." Marelt creates a portal and begins to walk through it.

In disbelief, Redsoxfan3 starts through the tunnels. He looks back as he enters and sees Marelt standing completely still. RSF finds his way through the tunnel and sits down as Marelt walks through the portal. RSF looks at his watch and sees that it hasn't moved more than 5 or 6 seconds, since the time he left.

"I've been waiting for you," said RSF.

"Exactly what I expected. You see your abilities," said Marelt.

RSF goes to sleep and wakes up 2 seconds later in real time.

"Boy that was a good rest! After I decided to sleep on it, which I just did, I decided that it would be best still that I not trust you since you could still be the devil. Until can prove to me that the Goddesses are the oppressors and that you are not the devil, I will not trust you."

Exits nearly instantaneously or so it seemed to him at the time. On the way back to the Temple redsox sees Marelt's portal opening with him frozen in mid-stride. Still not believing that he has any powers he arrives at the Temple. People are walking around now. Snowy growls and charges at RSF. The Bear leaps into the air at RSF and is within inches of RSF when he jumps out of the way. He notices that Snowy is now moving in slow-motion. He straightens out his clothes and walks behind the Bear and resumes normal time flow. The bear lies down confused at the vanished mortal and assumes that he had already been consumed.

Soccerfeva enters the temple as an unknown rebel. No one has seen or heard much about him.

he proceeds to the toilets at the back of the temple and writes 'owe $$ pay $$' on the walls of the toilets. It is addressed to the people who runs the temple.

Soccerfeva sets a fire to the temple and runs away.

As fast as wind he came,as fast as wind he escaped.

The High Annonyer is gone.

And the fire is still waving around in the temple.

I figured I'd take this time to do as Djive told Marelt.  It came to my attention that most people here never really completly describe their powers or abilities right away.  I'm not trying to condone Marelt and his puny rebels but instead propose an idea.  All those who have joined Heroes Community have done so with knowing a little about Role Play and have also created a character of sorts.  For instance, as we move along the HC timeline we see a new member known as Marelt_Ekiran.  The only thing he really says about his character is that he is a spirit.  Later we find out he is most definatly not a ghost but a spirit composed of vain.  Furthur down the road he says that he controls the sun and weather and such.
So as you can see over time we learn a little more about each member and their characters/powers.  But can we say that we know everything?  NO.  This leaving room for the person to easily add more to his/her character when the situation calls for that person to be more powerful.
From what I can see now, Marelt has made himself out to be an all-powerful spirit who is and controls the element vain and all things composed of it.
Who's to say that next week he won't be even more powerful?
You see what I'm saying?
I propose we start a thread, one I'd be happy to open, in which each of us with a Role Play character describe said character stating abilities and powers.
I'll explain more in the thread but I feel it will be helpful to everyone here including the member giving the description because this way everyone will beter know this person and their character and it will give certain limits to everyone as well.  This way we don't have super_BOB one week and next week Ruler of all living creatures_BOB.
