My chempions - Dungeon, Sylvan, Academy, Fortress
This is my sugestion for chempion in dungeon, sylvan, academy and fortress  .

If Ubi has an iota of self-respect left, they're not going to include the sphinx. It looks too much like the Lamassu.

Yes the Sphinx looks too much like the Lamasu, a Manticore though, although similar might be more plausible and it can be designed in a number of ways:

It was already hinted by Marzhin that at least one faction could not NOT have the Dragons as Champions

I have a theory that there will be no black dragons or any dragons for the upcoming factions with the exception of maybe fae dragons for sylvan. for dungeon, i have a sad feeling that the faceless will be the champion unit because they are as powerful as angels and i think that UbiHole will not restrict them to elite, but champions...at the expense of the black dragon. i hope this is not the case but i do have my suspicions. my theory is that once both expansions have finished, the storyline will be that the elemental dragons will awaken normal dragons and send them to Ashan to be the protectors of their relevant factions.
and not to hammer a point that already has been made, but yeah the sphinx and the lamassu are to much alike. and besides, the titans are the epic units of the Academy. There's no way in hell that they will not make the cut.

I have my reservations about this especially now that we've learned that the faceless are as powerful as angels. Angels = Haven champion unit. Kinda makes you think that the Faceless will be the Dungeon champion unit.

Academy  Titans (they have been there all along can't leave em out!)
Sylvan Treant (good suggestion)
Dungeon Hydra (with 6 heads - doesn't need to move, just stretches out it's heads for attacks)
Fortress Thane (bigger version than H5!)

This is a pure paradox. Titans and Olympians are Greek and only Greek... They have nothing to do with Norse mythology.

Dendroids are more like haunted trees (Warhammer Tree Kin?) than not-Fangorns.
As such, I can't really picture them as champion units,
but they will always be cooler than those Ashan spider-trees.
Regarding the Fortress champion, how about: Giant -> Giant Thane?
The Colossus -> Titan of Ashan Academy are less organic than in previous games,
so the only similarity would be that they're both freakishly tall.

I have a feeling that it'll be...
Dungeon : Faceless (vs Angels make sense)
Slyvan : Trents
Academy : this one would be tricky, I guess Manticore or Titan or Raskha are all possible.
Fortress : no idea to be honest, H4's Mechanical Dragon ?  anyone remember those ?
