Who is Bluebeak?
I must have missed it somewhere. Who is Bluebeak supposed to be? I know he is related to Sveltana, but I forget how. Is he somehow tied in to the Griffin dynasty? A spirit of an old relative, or something?

I am a veteran of every Heroes title and their expansions. (Yes, I even bothered to play the Chronicles with Tarnum that pretty much equated to "Heroes Quantum Leap".)

Yeah, Bromeo, I know, but H5 WAS terribly written after all. I heard 6 was done better, but apparently I shouldn't be expecting the epic that will live down the ages.

I don't know, Goink made me laugh a couple of times. Or at least grin in amusement.
Also, lorewise, Bluebeak is likely Sveltana's familiar. I haven't played the entire campaign yet, but that what it looks like to me.
Also, I rather think this a topic for the New Beginning Forum, not the Altar of Wishes.

Yes, I accidently posted it here. Still not familiar with the forum categories. Sorry.
I guessed Bluebeak was Sveltana's familiar, but wasn't sure. I thought it odd that her familiar would so often be accompanying other people. And also the personality seems like some independent soul rather than a familiar. So, if it is a familiar, it doesn't seem to fit the standard concept. But, Ubi can do their own thing with their own world, I guess.

H6's story is laughable and not in the comedic sense. Slava and his children have this oh so American sense of humor commonly found in comedic TV Series for teenagers.
Even Kiril who finds himself trapped Sheogh and has this Demon Prince Azcaal trying to devour his soul and he humours him by calling him "Azzie" and chats him up as if he's a harem manga highschool male protagonist and Azcaal is his idiotic classmate male friend.
I don't know but you see, he's trapped in this worlds Hell, surrounded by demons and madness (as written in signposts) so couldn't he be a little bit more despaired about it?
I could go on about all of those retarded siblings. They're all full of cliches that are out of time and place for their setting and dozens of unfunny one-liners.
To me, Heroes VI's story is definitely the worst of the series. Yes, even worse than Heroes V's story. It feels like I'm watching a saturday morning cartoon aimed for teenagers and nothing more. I would go as far as rank it as one of the worst of all video games with an attempt to have serious storyline, that I have played.

I don't think so... Anastasia's story was interesting, Irina's is kind of boring and predictable but at least they have one nice plot (for now). And isn't Kiril said to have black humor? It sounds like he's into selfirony, I haven't played with him though. I'm not sure, I really like the game and the story.

That's actually pretty sweet, I can't wait for the inevitable Heroes 6 in a Nutshell.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure the story is a masterpiece in the original, French language.

Anastasya is probably the most annoying of the lot. The way she expresses her feelings about Uriel as if she's some teensie prom queen, makes Twilight seem like a masterpiece.
And to think she now is an undead. Whoever wrote this story is a Twilight fanboy!

I will gladly take Heroes 6's story over the garbage that was Heroes 5 any day. First off, we aren't stuck with that absolutely stupid twit, Isabel. I have yet to encounter such a truly unlikeable dolt protagonist since playing as that idiot. Secondly, we don't have Raelag, the creepy pedophile stalker who runs a brothel. Thirdly, no rhyming ranger. Fourthly, no obviously disguised enemies posing as heroes. Fifthly, LLLAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's my take on the Griffin children:
Anton
Started of well being a crusader and a zealot. But the whole redemption plot should have been cast aside. Anton should have been kept a character that was too traumatized by his father's passing to show any compassion to his enemies and slaughtered all of them in the name of Elrath. (read the Sandor bit for more)
Kiril
This dude.... Jeez. Where do I even begin? He sounds like a emo kid. Calling that Demon Lord Azzie... And when the succubus were ****-teasing him, he was all like oh leave me alone. This dude should have been bad ass. He should have embraced the succubus advances, embraced Azzie's power and not whine like a little snow. He should have been evil through and through with only his goals in mind and caring for nothing else.
Irina
She takes being non-nonchalant to a whole other level, especially when she found out she was pregnant. Oh, I'm pregnant... Well. Guess I am. No one behaves like this. She had the best background to work with, being sold of to the Wolf Duke and being raped and all. She should have been a vessel of vengeance, learning from the Naga to quell her rage and at the end she should have had a Buddha-like zen to her demeanor, not brushing things off.
Anastaysia
She is the best character in the game except for Cate. Her storyline was dealt with at a good pace. Being a priestess of the Light and then descending into the practices of the Necromancers. Overall she was good except like Kodial pointed out, she was kinda Twilight-ish. She should have been a bit more emotionless and calculating.
Sandor
He's ok. Except he should have been gruffer, more Conan-like. Freedom and companionship were his strong-points but he should have gone back to the Empire and kicked Anton's zealot ass, showing baby brother that big brother is the one who's truly in charge. And then Anton should have learned remorse/redemption from Sandor and defaulted to his leadership from this point on.

Whatever said about Heroes V, they still had the best line of the series. In response to Griffin Eternal!, the necromancers subtlety suggested Griffin Undying! That was brilliant.

Seriously though H5's story was crap, it's much more tolerable than H6. I never facepalmed so much in my life as I do now while playing the H6 campaign. H5 was just poorly written but H6 is so bad, it's annoying even.
Isabel? Give me Isabel back! Anyone! I would take even Pinocchio sharpening his nose to use it as a spear over the retards we got now.
Anastasya, the Bella wanna-be! Kiril who think he's in Alice's Wonderland rather than Sheogh. His jokes are so cold, they could freeze Sheogh over! Irina is such a cowboy, I half expected her to finish her one-liner's with a "yee-haw!". Further on her character's development, she might actually pick up a Texan accent. Oh not to mention her sidekick, Katsue! Are you guys serious that they have good voice actors now? Such a failed stereotype of Asian accents! Anton, the irrational fanatic and the evil humans, even the poor Faceless and the Orcs are being abused by them. It worked the first time around but now it already feels dated. And then we got Sandor, the gay adventurer with the true meaning of the word 'gay' and Kraal his trusty sidekick and that goblin, his trusty sidekick's trusty sidekick, and all of them together have one failed sense of humor. Honestly if I hear Kraal chuckling one more time, I will drop the Stronghold campaign.
I vote Kiril and Anastasya as the worst characters to ever disgrace the entire might and magic universe, old or new. And I doubt there's anyone who can challenge on that.
