but what will lawsuit do ? ever did that ? the only thing reasonable enough u can get is for them to pay the money u spend on the lawsuit and to give u the items u dont have.
u cant expect anything beyond that, judge wouldnt give u anything, we r talking about video game and u not getting few items (not some major trauma) understand the principal but lawsuit will involve paying more money and time than solving it in a nice manner.

It's about Ubisoft not respecting a sale contract that was made between them and a customer. It doesn't matter whether he bought a video game, a box of peas or a car ...

As I stated previously, then I would rather avoid taking it to such extremes. But I have actually never in my life been set in such a situation by any other publisher/retailer/manufacturer before. In any of the other cases I was able to intiate a dialogue with their support, which would result in a solution usually within a week. Hell I have even experienced one of the retailers realizing a mistake before I even did and before I even knew of the mistake they had responded, apologized and replaced my faulty item.

The one time, where I actually got in a dialogue with a support staff from Ubisoft he told me to take a print screen of my order confirmation and update the topic. One and a half hour later I had done all that, including explaining the reasons, why I was eligible and, whre the advetising of the pre-order items was broadcasted(Youtube and the official Heroes 6 page). It has been at least 3 weeks since I answered him(Craig), but never heard from him again.

As both a human being and a consumer I think it is wrong for Ubisoft to treat their customers as if they were expendable and although I hate to admit it, then I think Ubisoft really dosen't care much for the Heroes brand in these times filled with million-dollar generating FPS titles. I get it, heroes isn't the most lucrative genre, but does that mean we deserve any less? Does that really makes us less of a consumer than if I were to buy Assasins Creed? Assuming Ubisoft actually treats all their customers the same way, then what are we exactly, but faceless walking wallets. Although this could be the general opinion of consumers by the large companies, then I hope that is not the case. I have been working part time in a super market besides my studies for about years now(same super market), but never in my entire time have I thought of consumers this way. We sometimes joke of the stupidity of some, but that dosen't mean, that we treat any costumer without respect or give 100% to try and help them, when they need any.

So maybe it started as something as simple as pre-order content, but don't try to deny, that it is something more despite it's shallow appearance.

What do you mean by that? On the planet I'm standing on, there is a concept known as consumer rights, which means the buyer of a product is typically entitled to receive what they pay for.

Happy to hear, that the moderators of this site are supporting trying to get both mine and other people with similar issues resolved. Although it may mean absolutely nothing to Ubisoft, then I think it shows the dedication to the heroes community. And for that, I thank you.

Thank you. Chalk me up as one of the people who didn't get the pre-order bonus items. I'll mail the supplier where I pre-ordered the game, see if they have anything to say about the matter.

Of course I support you. Doesn't matter whether I'm a mod or a VIP - I am a human foremost, and one who dislikes swindling. I am surprised at Kaasschaaf's comment because it's so obviously not pettiness or high standards on your part - you buy, you receive; you don't receive, you complain and sue. I'd do the very same.

You might not expect much to come of it, but if a woman can sue McDonald's after spilling coffee on her own lap, you can definitely sue for a company not giving you the product you paid for.

At the very least, you should be able to get your content, and that's all that ought to matter.

Don't you think a lawsuit is kind of an extreme measure? Don't get me wrong, I'm surprised to see the issues people have with it, but would the money you're going to pay a lawyer really be worth it?

Of course, it depends on where you are from... I understand that this is considered normal in the US, so I suppose it's just a cultural difference really. As for me, I'd just consider it trivial and move on.

Have just set some initial wheels in motion. Won't tell exactly what it is before hearing their conclusion, but if this supports our case/situation, then I would say we made huge leap forward. Should have the response from them within a week.

And BTW does anyone know if you can record on screen video of what you are doing in windows 7? If so, then please share.

Today I encountered the next obstacle, although this may not come as a shock to some(Nelgirith) I was just told to call unisoft customer support. And judging from previous replies by Nelgirith I would guess, that they are gonna send me straight back to technical support. Here is the reponse I sent back to them:

Hey Craig

I already did that once, but they told me to contact technical support. So why is it, that no one can give me an answer regarding my question and just keeps sending me in a never ending circle between technical support and customer support? Can it really be true, that there is no one, who can answer this or want to take responsibility?

- Frederik

Here is the response, which it took them 1 month to sent:

Hello Frederik

Thank you for contacting Ubisoft Technical Support regarding Heroes of Might and Magic VI.

In order to respond to this email, please update this incident (Please do not create a new incident)

You will need to contact the ubishop customer service about this issue.

If you have any further queries or issues please do not hesitate to contact us again and we will assist you further.

Kind Regards,
Craig
Ubisoft Technical Support.

Somehow I think this is just a template, which they send, whenever they feel like they are treading waters, which aren't in their favor. And so far it seems to be succesfull, since no one is able to get in contact with anyone and no one knows anything. I was actually hoping, that I would get some sort of decent response or help, which could actually help solve this, but guess I was wrong. I am slowly starting to think, that things only will change if a lawsuit is made. We will se how the case progesses...In the meantime I plea to any, who want to help in this case to gather information and evidence. This includes pictures, videos, receits, order confirmations and emal correspondance between you and the customer support or technical support.

I am in the same situation. I bought from Gamersgate. Gamersgate did not get the codes from Ubi. Ubi says I have to take it up with G-gate. G-gate says they have requested the codes from Ubi. I have been at this since the day of the release with no progress.

Here are the codes we were supposed to get:

Deluxe Edition:
• 1 Bonus Single Player Skirmish Map.
• 4 Dynasty Heroes : Aguirre, Sveltana, Yume and Kraal.
• 2 Dynasty Weapon : Staff of Cleansing and Staff of Asha’s Eightfold.
Pre-order:
• Edge of Chaos: The Edge of Chaos is a sword created by Arch-Demon Nebiros that ensures its bearer pure luckiness.
• Akasha: Commander of the sacred isle, Akasha is a fanatic follower of Dragon Godess Shalassa.

I got the activation code and the codes for the Kraal package and Asha's Eightfold package.

I did not receive the skirmish map called "Heart of Nightmares".
Nor did I get the Edge of Chaos code or Akasha code.
3 codes in total missing.

This upsets me greatly. There has to be a way to contact Irina or one of the people on the Heroes team. I think they would care. There are people that have contact with them.

Please help us.

And by the way, I'm from the USA so this problem is international.

When I activated the bonus code that was included in the Deluxe box, I received the 4 heroes, the 2 Dynasty weapons and the map. They were added by registering one single code. I'll check tonight to see if I have the bonus map, as I recall seeing it in the map listing, but I am not 100% certain right now.

Heart of NIghtmares is not a skirmish map but a Scenario. change the sorting order of the skrimish maps in the upper right corner to scenerio and it should be visible. At least I had it this was. All my exlusive content got unlocked by one key (4 heroe,2weapons and 1 map)
