Raindance is also in the unofficial patch notes... suddenly hope was alit! We'll just have to wait and see though.

I saw those patchnotes earlier and still think they're fake.

It's simply too good to be true.

Getting raindance is likely a coincidence.

Today I saw a TCN with a shotgun and I was like "WHAAAAAAAT TCNS HAVE SHOTGUNS?"

Never seen one use it. Everybody just rocks Thumper + Repair Tool.

Personally I think the TCN could've been a lot cooler if they had a really beefed up shotgun as a primary instead of the Thumper.

Yeah, I've thought that as well, though I can't really say anything about the shotgun or the pistol; never used them, never seen them been used. What I then thought was that almost all of the technicians in other classbaser arena shooters use shotguns as well. I'd like to see a weapon used for area control, as that goes really well with turrets and indoor areas... like the grenade launcher... it's yellow and everything! And the thumper might fit as a newbie alternative to the Arx for raiders, which might be preferable since the learning curve for raider is so odd and that the raider doesn't need to control area as much. Mayhaps a switch there might not be a bad idea... Hi-Rez don't seem to keen on weapon switching though.

I used a shotgun on my tech for awhile.  It really couldn't compete with the thumper for utility.

Hi-Rez dumped an announcement for PAX east where they mention a new game mode that will be implemented to be used during PAX East. Grim news for the unofficial patch notes I posted, since they don't mention it.

Holy fridge snow, guys! Official release patch is here! WOO-FRIGGIN-HOO! Haven't been this excited to read patchnotes since... some time ago, ok?!

Ok, let's just start out with my normal highlights, but I will be writing them in real-time as I read the patchnotes or look around in game!

Ok. Cool. Thanks. I'll be coming back to these later. Raindance looks marvelous though (haven't seen much) and CnH is propably just the TDM mode without the killscore and only holding the flag. Apparently on the CTF maps, so I assume it'll be chasin supreme, most of the time. Ugh! Sentinels will be so annoying if that's the case!
Or it's just something with controlpoints, which would be rather awesome! Was my favourite mode in UT04, so that would be a treat!

COOL! Friggin awesome! Soon Hi-Rez can get actual stats about how many players really want naked spawns and whatnot!

Agreed, I was expecting a bit more... especially for custom servers to be available on release, but meh... release isn't really a big step with this development and business model.

EDIT: And I was also hoping for something to put on my "to get" list... because I almost feel a bit ashamed... cause the next item on it is the tech thumper.

Man naked spawns really change up the game, 3 Jugs camping the enemy gen can pretty much **** the other team up completely.

And friendly fire is annoying as hell... people are still in the "SHOOT AT EVERYTHING" mode so... and TCNs **** themselves up as soon as they drop the motion sensor hahah... ah great job Hirez.

Still haven't had a chance to play Raindance or CnH. I forgot how annoying this game could be and ragequitted kinda fast ^^

You've seen five or six of them, at least...
Still haven't played raindance on CTF, but I have on CnH. Must admit that I have mostly had a great time with CnH. It's like a more concentrated TDM, where the team aspect is actually noticable and you're not just running around in a circle. Can be quite the hazzle on some of the smaller maps (especially one of the TDM maps). Like the most extreme of gener-fests. Brute and jugger is the way to go then, but the other times the balance between the classes is nearly retained... I will tell your this, though: The raindance gener room will be hell! There's one tiny entrance with a drop (as the back entrance on DD) and the whole gener room is small and completely open.

@Omega: They've pre-released Custom Servers, naked spawning is an option and it's kinda annoying on pubs honestly.

I want this custom server.

CTF
10 score limit
Raindance/Katabatic only
No generator-regen
Naked spawning
No Tactical/Orbitals
Rank 25 limit unless friend-join (because I'm an elitist snow)

EDIT:

Raindance CTF strategy.

Kill until I have 2000 credits.
Buy tank.
Aim tank at flagtower.
Fire at will.
Watch PTH parts fly everywhere.

I can see them from a mile away, and I can hear when they nitron-jump so I'm always prepared.

Fun times.

Oh and new record... had 4 DMBs launching missiles at me at once My gunner was freaking out haha.
