It's too easy-mode even for me.

I don't assault the GEN as much as I did earlier so I don't get motion-thumped all too often but... the hatred kinda stuck to me.

I'm more of a general harasser now, I mostly just make the HoF real mad.

EDIT:

@Omega: Stop trolling me haha.

I know... when I'm bringing the doom I just hate being up against you as an inf! Always hunting down my inventory stations, shoving me around and destroying force fields and my precious generator! It kind of takes the joy from the doombringer easymode of the PUBs, where I can just sit back and relax, unless there's a large offensive for me to mow down and get those nasty 70 kills and 50 assists on the scoreboard... and you've gotten hard to kill! I remember the days when I could just read you like an open book, letting you cloak and wait a few seconds and then finish you of!

Harassing the flagbase kinda comes natural to the INF because none of the usual counters work.

Motion sensors are totally visible in the open.
Drop Jammers have too small range to bother you.
RDR jammers can be seen from a mile away
Much more space so random mortar/thumps/whatever is much less likely to kill you
Killed allies and enemies provide endless supply of ammo drops.

I think my survivability boosted considerably when I learned to never stay in the same place for more than a few seconds.
You've gotta harass all over the place, after you've put a few rounds in the HoF you go over to some TCN repairing, kill him, go stab a SEN, laugh, make a trip down the gen, blast everything, go up, body-block the enemy capper and stab him in the face*

I'm a TERRIBAD duelist though... should've seen me try to play Soldier... god it's so sad.

*this is actually the reason for all of the "invisible obstacles" that people have been complaining about on maps. They're all INFs trolling you.

Not all, but a lot of them are. Sometimes you run into a random deadstop far out in nowhere and take collision damage. Not likely to be a an inf with superheavy having a picnic.
But often when running around in the base I will often run into invisible infs and more often than not it will result in me killing them and when I'm playing inf I'm often amazed by how oblivious people are! Especially that tech that you just killed five times in a row! He should now that you are there by now!

Was just making a post about it, you ninja!
I can also point out that you see them play CnH on Drydock Nights.

I'm not so sure about the Plasma rifle. I agree that there was a lack of moderate damage, moderate RoF weapons in T:A, that they now seem to fill, but I'm not sure the raider was the right choice (and the DPS on that things looks scary, while still retaining consistency (in contrast to both the GL and the Arx, both having very high DPS, but low consistency)), and adding a direct combat grenade may change the class quite a bit. Also seems to be a slow working, but very powerful grenade, just as the EMP grenade. I do like the NJ5, since it may be a theme we get to see more of and it may very well be an attempt to phase out the fast RoF weaponry.

Oh god why the RDR why.

They updated yet another class suited for base-rape... there will be nothing but generwars for weeks...

Will the RDR be even more powerful now? It was already the rape-everything-and-their-family class.

The JUG will be so useless at flag-base clearing in comparison it's silly now. High ROF straight-going explosive weapon? BYE BYE FLAG DEFENCE.

EDIT:

Why not release 3 weapons for 3 different classes instead? BUT NOOOO... they have to make a pack... just so... overwhelming.

Should be a heavy next though, so let's hope they pick on of them that needs it the most: The brute, it's got so little... or, I mean: defence needs to be boosted to account for boosted base rape! Or... I mean: juggers needs to be boosted to be a viable option for base rape and not just mortarspamming the generrooms! Oh wait! So the three heavy classes are the three that needs it the most? Right, right...

EDIT: I can also pull the lone hipster arguement: I liked being the only one ever playing raider! It was MY class that I got to have for myself! Now there'll be raiders all over the place! (which might've been the arguement to actually give the raider some stuff)

@Omega: Oh god your butthurt TCNism is radiating straight through my monitor.

Yes, you got your ass handed to you by INFs back when the TCN sucked real hard and couldn't beat anything, things are different now.

In case you didn't notice, the INF pack was the FIRST pack that was released. None of us KNEW the consequences of boosting one class exclusively.

The consequences were that 70% of the teams were playing INF (as opposed to 70% TCN earlier) and the game was suddenly only about gener hating.
The same thing will happen again.

Now VGQ and go VDG all night long.

...and you can consider if I'm counter-trolling or if I'm genuinely mad hmm...

Well, seeing as how I haven't played the game in months, I'm going to assume counter-trolling.

Besides, Scrambler and Infiltrator were probably my favorite classes to play.  I also loved ruining people's day as a Doombringer before the Doombringer itself was nerfed.

Well what do ya know, the Plasma Rifle is overpowered as ****.

People are scoring 50 midair accolades in 1 match. (I usually get on top accolades by scoring 3 haha)

Hirez is releasing overpowered items at a higher rate than balancing the old ones.

The Jackal still needs some sorta adjustment for example... currently too easy to use. I'd like to have an arming time of 1-2 seconds on the Jackal rounds after it has landed on its target.

While that would be a solution I don't really want to see an arming time nor do I think that the midair damage reduction before a delay is appropriate. There's a bunch of core variables used for every weapon, and I would rather see these changed rather then specific circumstance changes.
I've previously suggested a longer reloading time, as that would still allow for high burst damage (as intended), allow you to set traps just as efficiently (as intended), while still nerfing the potency during mid air duels (as intended) and in general be a nerf (which I feel is needed) and encouraging the infiltrators to really consider where they put their jackal stickies (which I feel would be fitting for a class such as the infiltrator).

As for the plasma rifle it feels just as obvious as with the jackal. It almost seems they don't even balance test items before releasing them. 500 damage is the same as the stealthfusor, but with more than double the RoF (1.63 vs o.69 respectively), and it is just as powerful against air as it is against grounded targets.
I'm also a bit disappointed that the NJ4 has a higher DPS than the NJ5. The NJ5 is less forgiving and the lower RoF makes it fit the intended style and feel of T:A better, IMO.

Anyways, I'm off to play some more, go complain on the forums and I also made a flag cap to make me feel a bit better.

EDIT: So after toying around a bit more I've come to an opinion on the plasma rifle; it's too easy to use! The projectile hitboxes are HUGE! I guess that is kind of the point, since it supposedly an anti-air weapon, but this is just too easy. Perhaps the metagame just has to adapt to this new weapon first, but in T:A you really do lack the air control to dodge projectiles in semi-close mid air combat, and before it was an achievement to get a mid air, but with this gun it's easier to hit people in the air, but don't think that means its bad against ground target. Quite the opposite. Anyways, that it's so damn powerful isn't really my issue with it. It's that it simply doesn't fit the raider. The raider is supposedely primarily a base rape class and the other two primaries really shows this. The raider can handle heavies and space control much better than it can handle a light armoured target in an out doors duel. Both the other weapons lack range for mobile targets, but deal massive damage. They are both two of the hardest weapons in T:A to use properly and they are primarily powerful against assets and indoors battle, but the plasma rifle is a pure dueling weapon that is pextra powerful in mid-range out doors combat, which is supposedely the soldier's favoured area of expertise. This means that the raider can now get a very powerful explosive weapon as a primary and a powerful automatic as a secondary, which has been the choice you had to make with the soldier, but now you can just get a raider instead, and it will be better and easier to use. It doesn't fit the raiders supposed areas attack and it obsoletes the soldier, which people were still confused about. As I see it it would've been an obvious solution to just give the plasma rifle to the soldier instead, or the doombringer or brute (preferably the dmb, in my opinion, since it's great for defending the flag against incoming cappers, as well as being potent against shrikes), but that won't happen now. Perhaps the doombringer gets a heavy plasma rifle or something, but that won't solve the raider.
To clarify: I only have two issues with the plasma rifle; it doesn't fit the raider, and the hitboxes are just too huge and sometimes just weird. I don't feel that it's overly powerful. Maybe lowering the damage just a tad, but I'm not entirerly sure yet.

As for the cluster 'nades: I like them. They are great for damage in concentrated areas and just large splash and low damage in open areas, with a long delay (just like the Arx and GL). It's scary, powerful and hard to use, just as the raider is supposed to be. Great!
I have yet to try the NJ5-B.

EDIT2: And here I am, forgetting the other balance changes!

"Increased damage on prism mines by 14%."
Ok. Uhm... nice to see you do some actual changes and not just token 3-4% changes.

"Light Sticky damage increased by 10%."
Ok. Don't really care about those, but as I said; nice to see you do some actual changes in numbers.

"Increased damage on the Doombringer’s Heavy Bolt Launcher by roughly 7%."
Well... It did need some love... this also means it one-shots all lights. I guess that's... nice, maybe.

"Increased Technician’s Sparrow Pistol clip size by 2, adjusted starting ammo to 144."
Yeah... like I'm going to drop the repair gun.

And then custom servers. Expensive as snow, they are, and you still can't host locally. Unexpected? Not at all. Snowy? Yeah...

It wouldn't be so bad if the shrike collision detection was funtioning properly. Had him coming at me so many time, and almost each time I got a shot of with the bolt launcher and it usually takes two shot, I know, and several times I got two hits in a row or hit him while he was already burning. Friggin annoying it is to kill a shrike only to have it run over you unscathed a second later... and during all of those games we played I only ever died to the plasma rifle and GReaper as a pathfinder... mostly the plasma rifles actually.

What the living shazbot

Hirez' marketing strategy is just too damn obvious. And they're supposed to be aiming for "e-sport" lmao.

It's funny cuz this whole thing has started making people more aware of the overall problems with hitboxes in Ascend.

For example, the Spinfusors are the hardest BY FAR to MA with, we're talking pixel perfect. The SMGs have several times larger hitbox.

Interestingly enough, the INF's SN7 Pistol has almost as big a hitbox as the Plasma hahaha. Can't say I ever noticed... barely ever used it. The Falcon SMG also has a larger hitbox than the others.

All of my shazbots, all of them
