Fate's Dual Forms

I wasn't sure where to put this as it isn't really about strategy.

I have a doubt about their forms: How can you make them start the battle in spider form? They are the shooter with the highest initiative (only matched by the snow girls) but I always have to make their first ranged attack at the end of the row because of the changing forms delay.

I've fought against wild Fates starting on spider form so I guess there should be a way to do that but I can't find it. Sometimes having them shooting at first opportunity can be very important in order to eliminate enemy range troops before they can do damage (my strategy usually consist on box my shooters, kill every ranged menace first and then watch melees fall against my wall of troops and storm of ranged attacks).

Supposedly, there is no way you can have them start as Spiders (probably for balance reasons), so the neutrals starting as Spiders is something unique. I can't rule out the possibility of it being a bug, but from what I heard about them, it's probably better this way.

Actually, Centaurs have the highest initiative for shooters at 50. Then second is the spinner at 45.
Then Enraged cyclops/Breeders/Priestesses/Snow Maidens all have 40...and so on.

I don't think it's a bug, neutral stacks are coded as such, whereas you and AI have to start with spinner human form....

So Orcs are pretty hot with Enraged Cyclops and Centaurs when it comes to shooting ability.

You're right, Centaurs are faster, then yuki-onas and fates, but the spider-girls are still very fast and powerfull shooters and it's a shame that you have to give up your first one, usually one of the most important shoots, and make it after every other action.

Thanks both for your responses, I hope they change it. They could add the icon you have when you have to choose between special buildings or buy upgraded/non-upgraded units so you could set the form while you're on the map.

I think Elvin posted the explanation some time ago in a different topic.

In your army Fate s. always start i there Human form, but Neutrals are not limited by this but by the settings of the map. If the map make decides to put spider formd Fate s. on his map, it is his desicion.

Considering that Necro has 3 shooters and the best healing/resurrection ability in the game, I'd say it's a fair trade off that the Spider chick has to wait before she can shoot.

Yes agreed, spider chick has to wait (change form) before she can shoot....besides even if enemy stacks reach her to block her from shooting, they have baleful gaze (enemy is damaged), freezing web (adjacent enemy stacks cannot act for x turns - upgrade) anyway...
